May 9, 201213 yr Great... now he just needs to convince the Judicial System and they might finally get somewhere with this. I know Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are waiting to get married, because if Gays can't get married, they won't either. Aren't they nice.

May 9, 201213 yr Popular Post That's cool and all, but I'd rather hear about how his plans for our economy.
May 9, 201213 yr I only found out about it a couple months before. It is interesting haha You do know that they are engaged now and planning a wedding ? lol Just sayin'
May 9, 201213 yr Popular Post He's only saying that because it's re-election time. And since he doesn't have to worry about running if he (sadly) does win this time around then you can expect even less promises to be fulfilled. Don't get your hopes up, there will be no change. (CWATIDIDTHAR?) Plus, just because the president supports gay marriage doesn't mean it will be legalized. That is up to the Senate and Congress. Edited May 9, 201213 yr by Fredfredbug4

He's getting my vote, but that's mainly because I'm more fond of Obama than Romney. Also for the record (this is not directed at you), the congress is our law making body and really has more say about what happens in the usa. The president just gets a lot of s*** because he's the figure head.

That's basically it.
May 10, 201213 yr Author The President has the final say on laws, controls the military, and as you said (basically), represents the nation as a whole. That's basically it. Pretty much, but doesn't the congress have some say about what happens in the millitary? Edit: handy refrence chart for those of you who aren't familar with the us gov. May 10, 201213 yr Pretty much, but doesn't the congress have some say about what happens in the millitary? I think so but yeah President doesn't have all this power people think he has. Congress are the ones in charge of almost everything really. But yeah nice supporting gay marriage but of course it can effect him as well. Knowing how there are people with sticks so far up their asses. Edited May 10, 201213 yr by The One Truth
May 10, 201213 yr Author All I can say is, everyone who's an american citizen, when you reach voting age, research the candidates (it's really not as time consuming as you think) and vote. I can't stress this enough. If you don't vote corupt and greedy politicians will just keep screwing with our government. This may seem cliche but if we all vote and speak up we might be able to get 'less' corrupt politicians into office and maybe turn things around for the better. And don't just vote for the president, vote as much as you can. Here's a link to help: http://www.usa.gov/ Edited May 10, 201213 yr by Dragoncat

However in the past the President has asked congress to declare war and the President doesn't require a war declaration to take military action.
May 10, 201213 yr Ew, marriage. I could never really get into this love fad, but this is still good. Hope it doesn't cost him any votes from haters.
