Can anyone suggest some action anime for me?

Posted

Can someone suggest some action anime for me with little to no fan service? Mecha, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Steampunk are my favorite anime genres.

Here are some of my favorite anime that that I've seen:

Last Exile

Death Note

Jyu-Oh-Sei: Planet of the Beast King

Vexille (2007 CGI Movie)

Appleseed (2004 Movie)

Laputa: Castle in the Sky

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind

If anyone can suggest some things, that would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a list of some my favorite anime. There is fighting in all of them:

Bleach

Black Cat

Black Butler

Dragon Ball Z Kai

Bleach and DBZ Kai have the most fighting in them.

I recently started watching Full Metal Alchemist, it's really good.

I'm guessing that saying Dragon Ball Z is too easy?

I'd love to try to meme it up here, but I realize that my attempts to be humorous would result in my overall embarrassment and demoralization. I care about my overall appearance, so I will instead make a short off topic post to show how good of a person I really am.

Yep...

Um...As for anime...I have no clue...I'm forgetting as to the reason why I'm here...

Bleach, Naruto, Dragonball z.

I knew someone would mention Naruto and the other mainstream anime.

Darker Than Black

Tokyo Majin

Mirai Nikki

Samurai Champloo

Afro Samurai

Bleach and Naruto: Shippuden. Not Naruto. That one is a little too soft, because the target audience was 13.

I got a solution: If you haven't heard, Toonami is back and airing on Adult Swim. :) It airs form Midnight - 6:00 AM, so if you got a DVR (or normally are awake at those hours, lol) you can tune into what they are showing there. There's a lot of action anime you've probably seen on Adult Swim already, like Bleach, FullMetal Alchemist, and Cowboy Bebop, as well as 2 new shows that have never been on the block: Deadman Wonderland and Casshern Sins. All the shows, I guarantee can supply your need for action anime, my friend. :)

It be my pleasure to :], though, some of the Animes i will recommend now may or may not have fan service in them but not as much as you would think to be i think that's what i can remember about but anyways, ahem:

Mecha-Code Geass.

Sci-Fi-Metropolis.

Fantasy-Ranma 1/2.

Steampunk-Fullmetal Alchemist.

Naruto-Naruto Shippuden

Digimon Adventure-Digimon X-ross: The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time

YuYu Hakusho (through the Dark Tournament anyway) is my favourite.

And Soul Eater was pretty good too. Those are both "action" / fighting anime with fantasy elements.

And if you liked Laputa and Nausicaä then check out all the other Miyazaki films. I've seen most of them and all that I've seen are good. Also Tales from Earthsea... not Miyazaki but it was Studio Ghibli and it's pretty good (although parts seem a little confusing... I think this is due to the fact that it was based on a combination of three separate books and certain things just don't fit together all that well... never read the books myself though)

Angel Beats (warning: the ending is very sad), Soul Eater (most awesome anime I've ever seen), and Blood+

Already watched Bleach up until around episode 67. Stopped watching it because it got way too boring with all that filler.

Alchemy seems a bit werid to me.

Bleach and Naruto: Shippuden. Not Naruto. That one is a little too soft, because the target audience was 13.

I've seen bits and peices of Naruto: Shippuden, never really got into it.

Naruto-Naruto Shippuden

Digimon Adventure-Digimon X-ross: The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time

I don't really care for TV shows about Digimon, Pokemon, or other werid monster focused anime.

I already seen most of the best movies from Studio Ghibli.

All of the other anime I didn't comment on, I will look into and see if I want to watch it.

If you don't care for Dragon Ball Z then you might not like YuYu Hakusho. It's the same sort of thing, being fighting-based, referencing the afterlife (and a similar concept of the afterlife with King Yama and all that), somewhat muscular super-humans, and the main characters / main enemies all use ki / energy blasts and stuff. The main characters both die and come back to life in the beginning of the series... and there's even a highly skilled black-pointy-haired villain who the main character fights and defeats at the beginning of the series who later ends up teaming up with him in both serieses.

Although it is different in other aspects so maybe you would like it...

Mirai Nikki

Samurai Champloo

After researching about those anime TV shows, alot of content advisories or reviews said they had tons of sexual references or sexual images in them. As I said in the OP, I want suggestions of shows with little to no fan service present in them.

Also I might want to point out that I don't really care about TV shows that heavily center about demons or too much of super natural stuff. I am a Christian so I don't really like TV shows that have too much of those stuff in it.

It be my pleasure to :], though, some of the Animes i will recommend now may or may not have fan service in them but not as much as you would think to be i think that's what i can remember about but anyways, ahem:

Steampunk-Fullmetal Alchemist.

... steam punk? how is fullmetal considered steam punk?

Gurren Laggan and Gundam 00 - both have great action and story!

Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Monsuno, etc.

No offense, but you're coming off as a bit of a jerk because you keep saying "I don't care for this and that".

People are just trying to give you suggestions.

Code Geass and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

Both are good and so is the 2003 version of Fullmetal Alchemist.
