I Kind of did when i first played at the age of five. Then after i knew he could use cure and everything and actually be really helpful. And because of that, Donald bassicaly Obliterated Phil Cup. Three thirds he did himself. Since then, i've never used Jack, Ariel, or anything! (Save for Tarzan and Beast, as you need to use them.)

I always thought Goofy was the useless one. But in KH2 Knocksmash just...destroys bosses. Donald has always been good for Curing though.

I thought both of them were pointless until they could fight for you so you hid in the corner/ ran around in circles, to doge every attack.

I KH2 he gets better and so does Goofy I only switch for disney characters when I know I can handle bosses without them

lol that's not something you can do in KH2. Both of them are weak as crap in that game. KH1 though, Donald is a powerhouse.

He's good for cures. But in the end of KH2, no one is better at healing than Riku!

Lol have you guys fought the Lingering Will in KH2? Lol sometimes I distance myself from him and Donald and Goofy try to fight him and LW just knocks'em away with one swipe and they die. So funny, it's sad tho, in KH2 party member are useless. But in 3D the Dreameaters actually put up a fight, so I hope in KH3 party members will be as good as they were in KH1.

In my KH game donald has like 8 or 9 magic bars and whenever he hits something he gets a Magic bar back. So in my opinion Donald is Uber strong in KH and then they sorta tried to balance them out in KH II.

 

 

Sorta off topic but my goofy's health bar in KH is like a quarter of the way across the screen. If I pop in my KH game before 3D comes out i'll inform you on what stuff they have

I always just assume they're KO'd when I fight the Will. It's more of a one-on-one fight anyways.

 

I never really put much stock into my party members. I'll equip them and everything, but I just assume that I'm doing everything myself and anything they contribute is a pleasant surprise.

Exactly! Square Enix Makes him weak so we think he's not good and then we don't get to use Donald's Powerhouse Strength.

In KH1 donald was ok but goofy was better especially when he learns mp gift, near by the time I got to never land all I did was continually spam strike raid and I would like never run out of mp

Donald was one of my favorite party members to use. He was very helpful when it came to healing and, to me at least, him and Goofy could fight it out while I go sit in the corner dodging or healing my self. I really loved Donald and his tactics in a fight.

 

On the other hand, he isn't pointless when it comes to the story. For me, Donald was a comic relief to a tragic story. Like the Nurse in Romeo & Juliet. His voice and the things he said would always put a smile on my face no matter what. No doubt is Donald my favorite party member<3

In KH2 the one I take out is usually Goofy, but because of Drive Forms, I'm now keeping most of the time, he's not that bad.

In KH1 I have to keep them both to find Trinity Marks, which sucked, because you can't change characters anywhere...

Donald is the best because of his ability to cure Sora, which saves me sometimes during boss battles and during harder modes.

But I got used to them, and if I HAVE to take someone out, it's Goofy, since I can deal damage myself, but sometimes, we need backup for healing.

i've always thought Donald was useless in the actual cartoons and KH1, KH2 i only had a (random) Disney party member and Goofy!!! never in my life i've liked donald :\

If he can do something useful, he aint useless.

Personally I get mad at Donald all the time

 

He heals me when I dont need it but when I'm about to die, he doesnt do anything. I like Goofy because he fights alright and always keeps potions until one of us is about to die, then uses them. I could work without both of them, but I find it entertaining to yell at Donald, my family has weird reactions

In KH1 I thought they were pointless at first, but then I discovered I could customize how they fight, then I always gave Donald weapons tha helped with magic and made him defensive and made Goofy really offensive. Perfect powerhouse combo!

Donald has problems leveling up for me. All the time! While Goofy levels up like no other. Seriously, Goofy will be like level 19, Sora will be at level 17, and Donald will be at level 14. (And that's just at the beginning of the game. The gap between Goofy and Donald gets really bad near the end of the game) but I always have Donald in my party, unless I can't have him, so I don't know what's wrong with him. Every time we enter combat, he's dead within the first five minutes without a doubt. And he only cures me AFTER I cure myself. Idiot...

 

I always gave Goofy some Potions, because I could always count on him to heal me when I need it. (That's right--Goofy heals me more than Donald, and by looking at the level count, he does a heck a lot more of the cleaning of heartless than Donald (or Sora for that matter...)) Donald would only cure me at pointless times, like when my HP bar is still almost full.

 

So yes. I do find Donald useless. But I accept him as a regular story character. But a useless party member.
