this is probably why people hate bronies

''I guess because, although there are bronies that are like this, others prefer to assume, or think that due to some form of experience, we are immature losers who can't grow up and make a big deal about liking ponies and scream at other people who claim they don't like it/ don't watch it for whatever their reasons.

Either that or: they make other various assumptions, they are ignorant, narrow-minded, trolls, like to make fun of people, etc.

But a good chunk of it is people just making assumptions about the whole fanbase or the show (sometimes without seeing evidence thoroughly), or they've had a bad experience(s),from what I've seen from other people's opinions.

First off, "My Little Pony" didn't have the greatest reputation in the first place. Sure, there WERE bronies back then, but compared to how big the fanbase is today, it was rather minuscule back then.

With such a sudden uprising in the number of followers in such a short, condensed period of time, it can cause quite a bit of confusion/surprise/shock/etc.

Friendship is Magic is a completely new generation of the series under the influence and ideas of Lauren Faust, who helped create/make storyboards for cartoons such as "Powerpuff Girls" and "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends".

In America, cartoons are also generally thought to be only for little kids. It's not like Japan, where cartoons (or rather, anime and manga) have always been made to have variation- some are aimed towards little kids, others have adult themes, and some are just for everyone, and it's kind of just generally accepted there.

The concept of cartoons not only being for a specific age group that people should grow out of as time passes here is going to take quite a while to fade.

And like I said before, people just like to assume the worst out of all of us because some of the "bad fans" have happened to surface from time to time, and the fact that we like a cartoon in the first place brings the "geek" stereotypes to mind.

Some people also have a warped idea of why we like this series, which explains why some think we must all be "fat creepy old men that watch inappropriate pony stuff to do inappropriate activities with", which for the most part is not true. You're looking at a fifteen year old teenage, female "brony" here that has friends, wants to be an artist, has a proper weight for her age, and happens to like cartoons/anime and comic books/manga. However, I see mostly "trolls" and bullies using this, and I don't want to assume others are like that.

Not everyone in the fanbase wants to stick what we like down other people's throats to digest.

Nor is anyone who likes anything considered "geeky" or "nerdy" such as cartoons like MLP complete losers who don't know what to do with their lives.

But not everyone understands this (or wants to), I think.

Assumptions, assumptions. And that other side of our fanbase. :T

I'm sorry this is so long, but it's rather difficult to attempt to condense other peoples' veiws in a sentence or two without leaving something out. xD

It is a bit of a broad question, in a way.

In the end, I hope anyone reading this who doesn't like bronies for whatever reason may realize that not all of us are bad. :3''

I can honestly say that I think that people who just blindly hate bronies are arrogant. Most Bronies don't flaunt it everywhere they go. The only time we actually discuss or bring up the show is when somebody asks us what the deal is or with our own kind. Even less common are the Bronies that actively go around and try to "recruit" members to the herd.

I remember when bronies almost took over KH13. Good times.

Almost? We had random on it's knees after the first day. After that, it was a steady march onward to the other sections of the forum. After the first crusade ended there was a second. A third is on the way, and after that, a great crusade to finally unite the website under the glorious banner of our Solar Empire and New Lunar Republic.

Once season three begins, the war machine will begin to turn it's gears.

I'm gonna sum it up the shortest way possible.

Bronies, KH fans, COD fans, Halo fans, Justin Bieber fans, Anime fans, Kpop fans, Pewdiepie fans, Tobuscus fans, etc.. We're all the same one way or another. Deal with it.
