Face it, Valve is the only gaming company left that genuinely cares about it's players.

It's true, Sony cares even less than Nintendo. The only people that screw their costumers over more are Activision and EA.

I have. You are taking what hatok said the wrong way. He's not saying anything about fanboys. He is saying that nintendo isn't doing their best and people shouldn't settle for that. It wasn't a thread
Looking over their fairly recent history... so many games have been forcibly regressed by Shigeru Moyamoto.
A recent example is his attack on Paper Mario, forbidding them from using any original characters, and essentially destroying the great plots of previous Paper Mario games.
He did something similar with Donkey Kong Country Returns, forbidding the use of classic enemies, while simultaneously forbidding the use of any original music.
There are many interviews talking about him flipping the proverbial table when people suggest changing the formula of Zelda or Mario, which leads to the bland, soul-less creations we see nowadays. The man is actively working to keep story out of video games, keep game design philosophy in the 80's, and just overall stop anybody but him from trying something new.
but it's not just Shigeru. Nintendo as a whole just makes some mind boggling stupid choices, as evidenced by the Wii U which, while technically superior in some ways, has many parts that are drastically inferior to its competition from six years ago.
Nintendo constantly professes that it 'has no competition' showing a huge ego and given them a free ticket to make no attempt to keep up with competition. Also as far as they're concerned, there is no room to improve on what they have (As they don't need to worry about competition, as they have none) so they simply stagnate, selling the same well designed, but functionally identical, game on a yearly basis. This is the thing that Call of Duty gets flak for all of the time, yet Nintendo has brazenly been doing this with multiple franchises for years.
So, my words of advice, don't give Nintendo a free ticket. Don't support something jsut ebcause it's Nintendo. They need to learn that they have to keep stepping up their game like they used to, rather than resting on its laurels
