Zelda, or Final Fantasy? Which is more popular?

Posted

It seems like there's so many fans for both Final Fantasy and The Legend of Zelda, but I was just curious which one had more.  I didn't list Kingdom Hearts in the poll for obvious reasons. :P

While I love LOVE The Legend of Zelda, I'd probably have to say I like Final Fantasy a smidgen more.  I prefer turn-based battles over live action, I think.  Plus the storyline in Final Fantasies cannot be beat.

FF is alittle more serious. So in turn it is awesome.

I couldn't agree more.

The Legend of Link the Girl Zelda.

THIS IS PLAIN CRUEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.............Zelda series.

I know, it really is cruel. :D  And trust me, I had a hard time choosing myself, since I love OoT and Final Fantasy VI almost equally.

yup, ocirina was amazing and is too precious to not choose, was one of my first game,i loved playing it on the 64.

It's a tough choice but I like Zelda a bit better. The puzzles really make it great.

Zelda definitely. Ocarina Of Time, Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, Majora's Mask, Skyward Sword, and of course the original LoZ are all amazing games :DD

I like both, but I prefer the stories of FINAL FANTASY, but I like the free roam playing style of Legend of Zelda.

Final Fantasy is kinda free roam. Just different.

And for more popular, both are pretty popular, but Square did a darn good job of advertising Final Fantasy VII in America. But Zelda is probably more popular. (And I think it's sold more.)

As for my favorite, probably Final Fantasy, as IV is still my favorite game of all time.

final fantasy im not a hater but i just found i could never finish a zelda game i found the puzzles way to repettitive and i wish ff was live action like kingdom hearts

LoZ.

It's weird, I have tried so hard to love Zelda but really, I just can't get that into it.

I loved the Phantom Hour Glass, but Ocarina of Time on the 3DS I hated. Because every time I saved and turned it off I went back to the starting village. Well I think thats why I didn't like it.

I played Twilight Princess but for some reason that annoyed me.

But Final Fantasy hasn't done anything to piss me off yet. I'm happy with everything about it.

And Lightning... *sigh* *swoons*

While FFVI and IX are some of the highlights of my gaming career the rest of the FFs range from OK to good. Legend of Zelda for me definitely. Majora's Mask may be the greatest thing I've ever experienced and Skyward Sword had an amazing story and unrivaled gameplay.

Yeah it is more of the battling style, but I'm a gamer of a lot of games. Especially JRPGs

I think Zelda, mostly because I've stuck with it since I was  a kid, and have kinda grown up with it,(Oracle of Ages ftw!~) I didn't even know what FF was until I discovered Kingdom Hearts, and the only FF game I've played is XIII-2 and it was good, but I didn't like it the same way I've grown to love Zelda over the years. Plus the whole split timeline thing about how all the games are connected, for me were pretty mind boggling. Then again I've only played one FF game so this is totally not biased at all.

I owe a lot to Zelda, so that's what I'm going with.  Ocarina of Time was the first game I ever played through myself, and that means something to me.  My first adventure on screen.  :]

I like it when a game is more about skill than level.  Also, for me, games are more enjoyable when they have a good balance between storyline and puzzles.

Not to say I don't love both.  I guess that's why I have a mixed avatar (right now, anyway).

I have to say Zelda for two reasons:

1. I've been with the series ever since I played ocarina of Time which holds a very special place in my heart. And no Zelda game has been terrible or bad.

2. As popular as Final fantasy is, it's beginning to lose it's edge with each new game that comes out. Every new game is beginning to lose that magical feeling that you get from playing FF 1-10.

Heheheheh... except for Faces of Evil.  We'll just choose to ignore that one...

Story of my life...

I know Zelda is a gorgeous game... but I can't get into it xD

I either get really bored/lost and quit or stop because I suck at life

Eh... I'm gonna have to say Zelda.

#DragonQuestmasterraceBut srsly, Zelda. Only because Final Fantasy isn't even fantasy anymore. Or final.

Oh man, I loved Oracle of Ages growing up, too!  I was actually about nine years old when I played my first Zelda game, whereas I played my first Final Fantasy at four.  I haven't played XIII-2 myself so I cannot say for sure, but I've always heard--and experienced this a little myself--that the mid-FFs are better.  Overall, I love both series a lot and have a hard time deciphering which I like more!

I'm not sure, i picked Zelda since i've played the most games and it was my childhood, but as i'm starting to play more and more FF games, i'm starting to love them.
