When I first played Chain of Memories on the GBA, I really thought Vexen was a woman. I mean, the high pitch sounds Vexen was making during battle plus the long hair made me think Vexen was a woman at first.

I played the GBA version.

I don't think I ever thought of him as a woman... I don't think any game characters confused me that way, as far as I remember...

I always thought he was a man.  His jawline is masculine.

 

Also, female organization members wear high heeled versions of the shoes.  Vexen's are block flat boots like all the males.  

I'm the only one who thought, "EVILCREEPYWEIRDO!"

I never thought Vexen was (though, I've never played CoM) but I know I thought Marluxia was at first.

Nah, I knew Vexen was just a cranky ol' man.  But he DOES have a feminine appearance about him, so it's no surprise that you thought that at first.

The only thing I ever thought about Vexen is that he was a jerk. Dude think he's important because he's number 4

Never thought he was a woman, he has a man's voice. He does have an annoying laugh, that could be a woman's, but people have weird laughs, you can't blame them

And can't man have long hair? Since I had for a long time, i never used that as an arguments

I actually don't mind Vexen's laugh (Japanese and English). I dunno... It's evil and creepy...and awesome. But nothing tops my favourite laugh: Zexion's (same languages).

It just sounds like a creepy laugh to me if anything it sounded like mickey then a female.

Damn. I forgot how amazing the graphics were for a GBA title. *nostalgiasplosion!*  Kinda makes me want to grab my old DS Lite and my copy of the game and play it again even though I have Re:CoM.

 

Anyway I never thought he was a woman. Too ugly. Even evil chicks are typically hot in anime and anime looking games.

Not me....he's just a very creepy man with a love for making clones and puppets that steal the hearts of others. Marluxia was the one who I thought looked like a woman for a second
