Do You Ever Get Discouraged in Your Favorite Hobbies?

Posted

Me, not really. I enjoy what I do most of the time.

Sometimes if I'm in a bad mood already. Other than that not really.

Not really, but I get really discouraged when it comes to schoolwork.

(only classes like Math, English, Science, and Social Studies. I hate English the most)

When something backfires that isn't my fault.  Like after gaming for 5 hours and the console switches off without a chance to save (used to happen with my ps2 all the time since my cousins kept pulling the wire when crossing the room and dragging it from the tv shelf onto the floor).  The amount of times I had to redo bosses was unreal, and after a certain amount you just think why bother.

Same with drawing.  After I spend hours drawing something on PTS, to find out the white is opaque and not see through, then I to carefully go all round my linework to try and erase the white to have a chance of colouring it.

It's inevitable, because my hobbies (non-serious writing, drawing, and video games) all involve some kind of work and competence, and not doing well at something you enjoy can hit you.  I like what I do, but it's not gonna be a great time all the time, not to mention the people you meet related to your hobbies aren't always a shining example of how people in your field of interest should act.

Eh, it really depends. My main hobbies are writing and running, and writing a particularly bad piece or not feeling exhausted at the end of a run really discourage me.

Yeah, quite a lot. It just stems from jealousy though. Like, drawing. I love it. Did some earlier. But when I see the absolute masterpieces that other people my age (and younger) come up with, it's just so off-putting. Makes me wanna give up 'cause I know I can't reach that level of skill. Writing too. Sometimes videogames, but that just depends on the game and if I bother with online play or not. But I've never completed a critical mode of KH, which annoys me a bit...

If I enjoy something, I want to be good at it.

Sometimes. Really, it's just little things here and there. No real or "big" problems.

Quite a lot. I have heavy interests in writing and drawing -which seems to be a popular thing here- and I'm often discouraged for long periods when somethings doesn't come out the way I like, or I just am in a horrible mood.

The pimp game was hard in my day.

artblocks _(:3/L)_

Also I get discouraged really easily because I always dislike what I draw after about 1 minute after posting it xD

At least you get to the point where you're able to post it.  I haven't gotten that far in two years.  The only exceptions were avatars I made for myself and an online buddy.

Very frequently, actually. I'm constantly second-guessing everything I used to enjoy.

Welp, seeing someone do better, and them getting compliments for what I can do turns me off. Many times.

Nope xD

I love my hobbies, and I never got discouraged.

Aside from Video games, Video editing, and proudly showing my love for Girls' Generation? Nah. Not discouraged at all.
