Square Enix done with Playstation 3?

Posted

Hey everyone, I don't know if you heard the news on IGN, but there was a quote from a Japanese source that reads "Square Enix is currently making Final Fantasy Versus 13 for the Playstation 4, and Final Fantasy 15 for the Playstation 4 as well. Final Fantasy Lightning Returns 13 will be the last Final Fantasy game on the system." If this source is correct, then that would explain why Versus is taking so long to make, but then again, what could it mean for the Kingdom Hearts series?

The Playstation 4 is rumored to be released later this year around the Thanksgiving holiday in the States. The Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix is coming out this year, and probably 2.5 will follow next year if Nourma continues on his promise to release a Kingdom Hearts game every year, but with the shelf life of the Playstation 3 slowly coming to an end, is it possible that Kingdom Hearts 3 will be for the Playstation 4? And does that mean we will have to buy a WHOLE NEW SYSTEM to play Kingdom Hearts on? What are your thoughts? Comment Below:

No. NO. NO

Rumors! Rumors are what you heard and they are all lies!

Personally I don't think this source could be correct. If it is correct though that would suck since I only just got my PS3 last Christmas.

NO. NO. NONONONONONONONONONONONONO.

I JUST FREAKING BOUGHT A PS3. THIS BETTER BE FREAKING FAKE.

that would be fun to the point versus took all this generation time to be made and sad to the point KH3 never saw the light day in this generation.

Not matter the time they take, its too long for a game to be made. I know its a lottt of work behind that i cant even imagine but its their fault for anounce it so soon, versus 13 wont satisfy that many people, too much hype. Unfortunately its the same for KH 3 thanks to that.

Everyone who bought the ps3 for kh3 would be pissed as hell but I don't think this is true

I thought this over long and hard last night when I herd about Sony making  possible announcement for the PS4 this month,My theory is that it is VERY MUCH like Nomura to aim to have KHIII on the latest platform. However, Nomura has stated a wish to put as many KH games on a single platform (hence KH 1.5 and eventually 2.5) and as that would only leave KHIII (the end of the Xehanort Saga) it would make sense that the saga be completed on the same platform and to begin the next chapter on  new console (PS4). However, this hypothesis is based around the rumour of the PS4 being true and scheduled for release within the next 18 months....

it's IGN.

it's says everything

1% to be true, don't forget 1.5, and it'll be more wise.

You also have to remember that just because a new console comes out doesn't mean that the last one up and dies (except the PSP...). The PS3 most likely won't phase out until mid-next year, assuming the PS4 drops in November... supposedly.

Yeah, the video says it's only a rumor at the very beginning, so I am waiting for someone to confirm it as well. Nobody panic just yet.

And does that mean we will have to buy a WHOLE NEW SYSTEM to play Kingdom Hearts on? What are your thoughts? Comment Below:

Well I already have to buy a new system anyway so it doesn't matter to me.

Not really seeming right. Seems quite unlikely so I'm gonna wait and see.

and another person spreading rumors your just helping the wild fire grow rumors are rumors i only beleave what the company's pronounce all other's are just rumors

Versus was screwed from the start. It has nothing to do with the PS4.

Rumour: gossip (usually a mixture of truth and untruth) passed around by word of mouth.

Nothing is true until confirmed.

Square Enix's upcoming releases for the PlayStation 3 are Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and Kingdom Hearts -HD 1.5 ReMIX-.

And in 2014 we may see Versus XIII and all-but-confirmed Kingdom Hearts -HD 2.5 ReMIX-.

I hope that Kingdom Hearts Xehanort's arc will be finished in current generation consoles. If KH3 will be released on PS4, it would take many years before I'd buy the console due to it's price.

why cant everyone stop freaking out?! the video had "possibly" in its name. and that PlayStation announcement on 20 of feb is probably not the PS4 (thats what i think anyway) the ps announcement is probably massive improvement to something sony released earlier (again its what i think) im guessing they are improving the ps vita or something like that

I should just quote the same post that I write for every thread regarding this.  But I am reluctant to believe any rumor without proof.  There's so many of them in circulation that I think they're all just feeding off of each other.  I will not believe a PS4's in the making till I see it, and also won't believe Versus XIII is changing systems till I see it, either.  Not saying it isn't true, but I'm just reluctant to believe anything I hear without sufficient evidence.

I don't think that they will be done with the PS3 completely, just Final Fantasy.  Kingdom Hearts 1.5 will still be PS3 and Versus PS4.  SE always does 3 main Final Fantasy games before heading off into the next gen and then the brother titles follow.

We've had Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2 and the last one is going to be Lightning Returns. But KH 1.5 is still going to be PS3.

You really think you should believe a rumor created by IGN?
