gangnam style is better

both of them should just go kaboom

I like Harlem more, but gangnam is still a little catchy....I think

thats not even the harlem shake, that is a bastardization of the dance and its extremely disrespectful and the whole fad is stupid and making a mockery of the actual harlem shake

Can we please not introduce stuff like this on here? I hate any internet trends because they tend to be stupid and/or annoying. Why can't the discovery of the Higgs-Boson particle be catchy, instead of all this random crud.Keep this forum Simple and Clean. It's the last Sanctuary of sanity that I know of... Please... I beg you.

In my personal opinion both are annoying but funny at the same time.... :D

the funny is the best part xD

Harlem Shake is kinda getting annoying now...

I can smell forced memes from a mile away

Gangnam Style was never good, so Harlem Shake takes it's place.

Gangnam Style was a trend that actually kept the original dance in mind. People would actually dance how PSY did in the music video when that trend took off.

The Harlem Shake does not necessarily mean to reference the original dance move in no way but instead references a song. Never once were people referencing the original dance, which by the way is actually a pretty sweet dance move. But this trend is just really a bunch of people goofing around doing random shit in a video. I kind of don't understand how it just suddenly got popular... I guess just a bunch of people jumping the gun trying to be the first ones to do it????  --- It's not even the right dance. It's just a bunch of people doing random shit to a song called the Harlem Shake.

But in terms of I guess how it's trending, you could argue that it is the new "Gangnam" since it's suddenly gotten popular extremely fast.

It's just a bunch of people having fun really either way, and although I do understand some of people's latest issues with the whole debacle, no matter what they say in the end the mass majority of these people are only doing it for that sole purpose: to have fun.

I don't really understand why the minute something becomes a noticeable trend people just have to sit there and bash it. I mean even I don't really care for the Harlem Shake Phenomenon and I would prefer it to stop but I don't sit there and whine about it. It will die down eventually. When people start to realize (and if they realize) that this isn't actually the Harlem Shake I'm sure they'll stop.

AND NOW SOMETHING COMPLETELY RANDOM!!!!! xD

"Simple and Clean" ...

love the puns!

Lol, Sanctuary too.

yeah. both suck.

Exactly this.

It's just another fad a lot of people like, I myself wouldn't care about it, but just because I don't care doesn't mean I will sit there and complain and bash everyone who does it.

If people are having fun doing it let them, it's not harming anyone. If you don't like it, no one is forcing you to watch it.

A positive aspect is that the song itself is getting advertised everywhere by these videos, same thing with Gangam Style and other fads.

Few of them are nice (my brother tempts me to watch them) but I really don't care much about it, and wouldn't hate on it either.

As for the new "Gangam Style", sure I guess. Gangam Style died down and now Harlem Shake is the new trend. It happens all the time.

Gangnam is my jam. firetruck this harlem crap.

I hope so. I got so much crap for Gangnam Style. As a KPop fan, I had tried to show my friends the video just after it came out, thinking if they liked the silly nature of it, they'd stop giving me crap about listening to music that's 'different'. They didn't want to see it, said a bunch of insults about my music choice, but when it blew up, they were alllllll over it. And now that it's died down, people are giving me crap again-- "What kind of music do you listen to?" "KPop-" "Oh, you mean Gangnam Style? THAT SUCKS OMG" and so on.

Ugh. It makes me so angry.

But anyway, I love the Harlem Shake meme. I think it's lots of fun and I can't wait to make a video of it myself! I don't think it's in reference to the original HS, but rather the song. It's just about having fun and letting loose and that's why I think it's gotten so popular. I've seen a lot of people bash it, partially because it's popular and partially because they think 'humanity is so stupid, people will laugh at anything nowadays', and I think they really just need to loosen up and have fun.

I think Gangnam Style is a nice song to listen to and the dance is amusing.

The actual Harlem Shake is a dance move that originated around the 80's

The trend is completely different that uses a song called The Harlem Shake from some DJ that originates from Brooklyn

It is understandable why you don't know what the Harlem Shake is because I'm pretty sure most of the people that are doing the trend don't even know what the Harlem Shake truly is.

Absolutely not. Find me a harlem shake video with over 20 million views. Gangnam style: 1.33 billion. NOT. EVEN. CLOSE.

Then again, the Harlem Shake trend just started, and Gangnam Style has been around since July, so there's still a bit to go~
