We've all got that one game or series that we hold dearly to our hearts...yet it seems to go severely unnoticed and underrated.

What exactly is the one game that you think is the most underrated, and almost no one notices it due to few reviews and little advertising done for the game?

 

For me, it would be Tales of the Abyss. Sure, if you ask most people here, they would know what it is, and probably go off on a tangent about how amazing the game is. (Much like me.) But when it comes to the people I know in real-life...I'm the only one who's ever played it, as far as I'm concerned.

Onimusha series. I would say .hack// series but it actually has a pretty good following in Japan. Onimusha doesn't have much in either. It's rare for me to even find anyone who's heard of Onimusha games let alone played any of them.

Well, I've certainly never heard of Onimusha...and I only know of one person that really likes the .hack// games.

Okay...getting the joking out of the way

 

 

One of the really most underrated games I've seen has got to be Megaman Legends

 

The game is really good and it didn't sell well just because Capcom never bothered to market the game properly back then

well i don't know about any console games, but i have come across a few flash games on the internet that i think deserve more publicity than they have

Boktai is a beautiful game. Sometimes I feel like I represent both of the Americas as the only person who plays it, though.

For me it would actually be Kingdom Hearts.  Those who are actually around me (physically) have no interest in it, think it's Disney crap (and in some cases think the very idea of using Disney worlds and characters is ruining their childhood), hate basically every console it's come out on (xbox fanboys), and find the plot too confusing to try any game other than the first 2.  Makes sense.

 

Most games I love are generally loved/liked by most other people, just so happens none of those people live near me.

Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg. Almost no one heard of it, and it's very good.

SO MUCH THIS. My absolute favorite game, and so few people seem to have played it. The series as a whole is underrated, at least outside of Japan. 

I miss Dark Cloud and Megaman battle network/starforce, and Disgaea!

Shadow Hearts needs more love as an RPG series that takes place in the early 20th century with beautiful anachronisms everywhere.

Persona 4 underrated? Last year P4 golden got so many good reviews and both original P4 and P4G has sold fairly well and are loved by fans. I really can't say it being underrated

I really liked FF XIII as well.  Though, actually, I've come to find the game really DOES have fans; they're just afraid to voice their opinion lest they get bitten in two or three, haha!

Banjo Kazooie. In spite of its success, it never really got that big, in spite of it being one of the most colorful and fun games I've ever played.

Its an amazing RPG series by Nintendo, which is actually a really dark series for Nintendo. :| But its also expresses the concepts of Love, Courage, and Friendship too.

 

Its really such a shame that only one of the games got released here, and the rest didn't. Nintendo screwed up the marketing production of the game, and now we're never gonna get it. It's EXTREMELY POPULAR in Japan though. And because of other Copyright issues, we're not gonna get it on VC either.

 

So few people know about this game, and even though the fan base continues to grow today, still it seems few people know about it.

Honestly, I liked its story, and Sazh is just an amazing character, IMO. However, I did not enjoy its gameplay as much as previous FF titles.
