PS4 will have strongest launch lineup in PlayStation history

Posted
Lead system architect Mark Cerny declines to give

total title count, but says developer familiarity with platform the
reason for strong support.

The PlayStation 4 will have the strongest software launch lineup in
PlayStation history. That's according to lead system architect Mark
Cerny, who told Gamasutra that this is the result of developers being familiar with the system's PC-based architecture.

"The launch lineup for PlayStation 4--though I unfortunately can't give

the title count--is going to be stronger than any prior PlayStation
hardware," Cerny said. "And that's a result of that familiarity."

Previously confirmed PS4 launch titles include Killzone: Shadow Fall, Watch Dogs, DriveClub, and Knack.

Sony has confirmed the PS4 will launch this holiday season, but has not announced region-specific availability or pricing for the next-generation platform.

GameStop believes the console will launch worldwide this holiday, while an unconfirmed report suggests two models will be available in November at $430 and $530.

To be honest, they'd struggle to do worse than the PS3's launch.

very true

I WANT TO SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!

Jak 4, Medievil 3, Ape Escape, ect BRING SOME CLASSICS BACKKKK~

If it's good enough, I just might pick one up on launch day... ignoring the voice in my head telling me to wait for a price drop!

And I'm sure none of those game are 15+ year old IP's.

I WANT IT

YES

Naughty dog needs to develop Jak again.

PS Vita had a pretty good launch line up but look at it now how worse has it got. I hope it's not gonna be like this for PS4.

Agreed. I would even be okay with them passing off the franchise to another developer made of fans that understand the series, which is what Sucker Punch did with Sly Cooper.

As long as high impact games doesn't make it again

Infamous: SS will probably be launch title as well.

Watch Dogs looks definitely interesting, Killzone ShadowFall.. dunno it will most likely be good entertainment as older KZs, Knack.. eh not too interested,, I wanna see some gameplay before I say anything, inFamous SS would be definitely kickass launch title!

I can't wait to see what other games are gonna be launch title or launch window games. So far i'm looking forward to Watchdog, Knack, Deep Down, and the Witness so far. Hoping for a Jak 4 made by ND

The starting launch line-up is important, but you're right that they have to keep the momentum going to have strong sales.  You can't release a system with some games and then say, "Well, you'll have to wait a year or so until we can get out some more good games.  Enjoy your system!"

It's very unlikely that the PS4 will flop since Sony always has a good library of games for the consoles. It's the handhelds that they need to do better with in terms of software.

I swear if Firaga96 sees the word "flop" he will tell everyone to do the flop.

I definitely going to get PS4, (next year) and I have a good feeling that we'll be seeing Crash Bandicoot soon.

Oh joy, another Crash Bandicoot game (sarcasm). You know, ever since Naughty Dog sold Crash Bandicoot to Universal Studios the newer Crash games have been nothing b ut crap compared to the old ones that Naughty Dog made. I'm sorry but Universal Studios killed Crash and what made him a great character.

I honestly like the first few ps2 games as well, but after Crash Nitro Kart, I never liked the games that were released after Crash Nitro Kart.

hehe. I find Crash Tag Team racing cool and funny. But That was back when the game released, I never knew the Crash games were going downhill.

I played all Crash games for ps1 but the original, and I was soooo close to getting the first game, but lost my chance.

No surprise there.

I'm looking forward to The Witcher 3, but I doubt it will be a launch title.

I cant wait for INFAMOUS SECOND SON YES!! FINALLY! :D :D

VERY EXCITED!!!!

Jak 4 would be awesome, KNACK just kept reminding me of it.

Sony is going to kick butt it with its line up.

I can believe it. A good portion of the games announced so far look damn good.
