I don't know guys,but ever since I started watching gaming news on a daily basis I felt that we began to forget the whole point of playing video games.Most of the sites I went to are filled with fanboy wars on whose console is better or which game is better than the other and most of them are not civil argument,most of them are people cursing and swearing to each other.

 

I know that because I myself lose my timber many times whenever I engage in such disscusions and I admit that I act fanboyish at the time and become a total jackass.

 

 

Ever since the HD era of gaming came out I felt much less fun than the 90's and the Ps2GameCube era when we were playing video games for fun and we were expermenting with games and find which one is the most fun for us.I admit that sometimes I like games that most people hate like StarFox adventure(I know people don;t consider it a Star Fox game but it's a great game on it's own).

 

 

The more we grew up,the more we forgot about the point of playing video games: TO HAVE FUN.

 

 

I know I know that we became more mature and we can make the difference between a good and a bad game and I don't mind that.

 

But the fact that we lose all the fun we have whenever we engage in a comments war of cursing and swearing that supposed to be a disscusion.

 

 

I honestly feel more fun when I play my games without looking too much to the internet.I know there are awesome people that I can interact with(Like some of my friends here at KH13),but for the most part,the internet became more of a chore the more time I spend in it.I think I need to take a break and bust out my old games library.

A lot of unknown games are better for that reason. No fans to criticize them and you can just have fun.

Honestly, I have a thousand and 2 people knocking down my door when I say I don't like shooters, but I tell 'em I don't care about your opinion on what I should think, I do what I want, and that is to have fun. And then there is the "Competitive" world. Whatever happened to fun, rather than winning?

I felt the point of games was lost when people stopped trying to engage and figure out stuff for themself in games, upon starting they would have a walkthrough right beside them on their laptop and are basically lead through the whole game just to tell people they finished it

 

Like i've legit saw a status asking how do you jump in Mario.  

I think people are still enjoying games.  We're just human, like to organize our world on a scale of good and bad and then impose our order of the world onto other people.  Happens in games, literature, and just in society as a whole.

Mature rating is just a joke now. "Mature" games like "Mature" horror games are only that because of the nudity, and that's really it. Nothing about them really is mature needing, and really, I've seen 10 year old's walk into Gamestop, slip the dude at the counter an extra 20, and get any game they wanted off the shelf. I think the mainstream to people has now become all about love, sex, nudity, drugs, and curseing. If the games you play don't have those words in them, you are a iddiot child in our time. WHY CAN'T ER JUST FIRETRUCKING PLAY GAMES? WHY? IT'S JUST A FREAKIN' GAME. JUST LET ME PLAY WHAT I FIRETRUCKING WANT YOU FIRETRUCKING DICHEADS!... Sorry, needed to get that out...

It's the same in Online Games. Games are for Fun, but you will only find People who play the games to win it. And for that they'll use every dirty trick and way there is, just to make sure they'll win/get the most points. People just don't care about their opponents anymore.

its been like that for a while hahaha even in the 20s people were all about sex in america 

StarFox Adventures was totally awesome! One of my favorite Gamecube games, no doubt! And I'd play it again if I could find the disc. The thing I don't like about a lot of today's gamers is the importance they place on graphics. Graphics are one of the least important aspects of a game. If fine features mattered that much I'd google images Angelia Jolie. A game that sucks you into it's world because of it's rich story and characters and takes you for a ride with good gameplay is what a game is all about.

 

Oh and whenever a game I love like KH comes out I have to avoid the boards because there's always so much negativity about it. And even now I can't discuss KH1 with anyone, without getting a "lol take off nostalgia goggles" condescending remark. People like that who put down other's opinions are the worst.

 

And consoles wars are just pathetic.

Yeah, I remember when my own friends used to tease me because I didn't watch R movies or play M games. Personally, I think it'sironic that some of the most immature kids in high school are addicted to "mature" video games Not only that, but I think it's part of aparents job to make sure that their children aren't exposed to things that are likely to obliterate their innocence and cause things like sex, drugs, swearing and violence. One of the original reasons that I loved Kingdom Hearts is because I was able to do battle with countless enemies with a weapon and magic, and yet still be playing an E game. Even to this day, some of my favorite games are rated either E or E10. Now, if you want to play M games, I'm not going to judge you, but please, if you look down on other gamers just because they don't play "mature" games, knock it off!

I play videogames for fun. Sometimes its for trophies, but i only choose games that I KNOW I WILL LIKE. That's why its stupid that most people at my school are going, "OH DUDE, YOU SHOULD TOTALLY PLAY BLACK OPS 21!!" Im not even a fan of FPS games, save for Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, but thats it.

 

I WILL NEVER FORGET THE POINT OF PLAYING VIDEO GAMES.

I'm mostly in it for the story and fun.

For example, I buy the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games because the stories teach you things. Like not taking things for granted and not giving up in the world. (Oh, geez, the whole story of Gates to Infinity. T_T) Don't forget the KH series. Always believe in your friends and your heart.

I barely care about the competitiveness.

I play games only for games. No enchanced graphics, nothing.
