I see so many fangasms and excitement for KHIII here but have you guys ever thought that KHIII won't be the godly game you're expecting it to be? There are several easy reasons why it could be bad so allow me to begin

 

• As Nomura said it was announced too early. We've seen video game companies release games that had great potential early just to try to please the fans but ultimately fail. coughSonic06cough It is very possible that Square could end up releasing the game early, thus ruining it's potential.
• Secondly, the story. Over 50% of those people who are excited for KHIII have not played any of the portable games. They won't understand the story at all which will lead to many persons' experience with KHIII to not be at it's full potential
• "Just recap the the plot via cutscenes at the beginning" 
  Yes. I agree. Let's have a 1 and a half hour to 2 and a half hours of opening movie to the game. 

These of course, are the most obvious reasons. Let's get into some more detailed ones. 

• First off, fans have speculated a pixar world since the dawn of time. And now that the response to pixar worlds was "No comment" people expect that as a yes. I don't even need to explain this one.
• Secondly, it's obvious, so so obvious, that not every fan will like KHIII even if none of the above reasons come to pass. Some fans will be mad if Gummi ships come back, some not. Some will be mad if the game doesn't come to Wii U later on, some will rejoice, some will be mad that Donald and Goofy are back, some will be happy. Little things will bunch together to leave some fans with an overall dislike for the game.

Finally, there's the game itself. 

As we all know, Nomura has a Yoai Fetish. It's likely that the game will contain Yoai fanservice. For this reason most of those who hate Yoai will probably hate the game.

• And lastly, the gameplay. We don't even know what the gameplay even will look like.

  The trailer did not. What was seen in the trailer was just animation and not gameplay as said by, you guessed it, Nomura himself. For all we know the gameplay will look terrible.

So yes, the game can be bad and most definitely will not be near as good as you are thinking it will be. In fact, it will probably be the worst thing to ever exist in the Kingdom Hearts Universe. Just like Xion.

You totally misunderstood what he meant by saying it was announced too early. He said it was too early because of the stage of development it's under. He meant he should have waited a little longer because it's far from release and not much is done yet. Just like they did with Versus; they announced it way too early. And it's Nomura. He's a genius. He won't fail us...And no, the gameplay won't look 'terrible'. The PS4 can EASILY handle what was shown in that trailer, and probably even way more. For all you know, that CGI was created to look identical to what we should expect to see. We don't know. It's on the PS4. It's literally impossible for it to look bad. Have you ever seen what the Luminous engine is even capable of? Apparently, you haven't. They wouldn't use that engine for no reason and not use it to their advantage and not make it look as best as possible for a game so popular. Square ALWAYS makes the best graphics possible for every KH game they ever released. Besides, if it at least looks better than any KH game out so far, I don't see reasonable logic whatsoever to call it "terrible". I doubt he'll tolerate anything less than our expectations, because he loves the series too, and they even said they're making it as amazing as they can for us. They know what we want. But to be fair, this is absolutely true for EVERY SINGLE GAME IN THE SERIES SO FAR. There a handful of fans who hate BBS, and another portion who love it, the deal with confusion over the story has happened before with none other than KH2, where not many fans played COM. Announced early is not the same as being released early. They can take their sweet ass time, just as they've done with Versus/XV. Kingdom Hearts has had a pretty good track record with Gameplay, so I doubt it will terrible... even though that yes it is Animation in the teaser, it's animation based on what they have in mind for the gameplay to be, so, technically, it is a peak of sorts at what's to come.

 

The fans who hate it for petty reasons like "I didn't play the other games even though they were easily accessible to me through the HD 1/2.5's and also Youtube so I wasn't up to date on the story and so I'm confused and I hate it" can be ignored, because lets face it, they're douchebags.

I'll be surprised if you actually end up not liking this masterpiece, because I'm positive it's going to succeed. Although I usually end up liking things everyone hates so that's probably part of the reason, and I'll probably love it no matter what because I love Disney. And Nomura didn't have this much pressure to make KH 2 but that still turned out good. He's had YEARS to come up with the story this time, and he's proven to us more than enough times that he has potential, and this game is the best way to show it. But we'll see in two years.

 

He said there's tons and tons of surprises in this game, so I wouldn't be so pessimistic about something we have zero knowledge about.
