What Are The KH Characters That You Think Stand Out The Most?

Posted

Hey everyone, how's it going?  You know, if there's one thing that I love about the Kingdom Hearts series, it's no doubt the characters.  There are so many characters in the Kingdom Hearts series, and they are filled with so much intrigue and mystery or sometimes just simple and clean qualities.  I've always thought about what characters I like the most, and I'll mention three of the characters in the Kingdom Hearts series that I like the most.

First off, there's Riku.  Everyone knows of his descent into darkness, and later his path to redemption, and I find that this character has been through a lot, and the fact that he was able to push himself forward and fight his doubts is really something that inspires me.  Not only does Riku teach you about how to overcome yourself, he also teaches you about how to accept the wrongs you've committed and face them head on.  He's always been my favorite, and he's always been a badass when it comes to combat.  Anyways, Riku is definitely hands down one of my favorite characters of this series.

Okay, so then comes Sora.  Sora is obviously one heck of a character, and his childlike simplicity makes me smile.  I like the way that even though he's facing adversity, he always smiles at danger right in the face, and he always has that sense of optimism.  I laugh when he acts childish and when he generally says: "What's that supposed to mean!?"  What I like about Sora the most is that he's very devoted to his friends, and that he'll do anything to maintain the bond between him and his friends as strong as can be.  LOL, let's see if he and Kairi finally kiss in KH3. xD

Last but not least, comes Vanitas.  Ever since I saw him in Birth By Sleep, there's just something about this character that I can't seem to put my finger on.  I don't know if it's the cool attitude, his prowess in combat, or his sheer way of intimidating others that makes me like him so much, but Vanitas is one hell of a villain.  I also feel sympathy for him because of what he had been through. (One time I read an article here explaining Vanitas's history and how he suffered when the Unversed would die.)  He's one character I want to make a comeback, and he's certainly interesting.

Well, that's it for me.  How about you?  Who are your favorite characters that in your opinion stand out, and why? :)

My answer is obvious : Axel/Lea . I love how clever and entertaining he is . He's incredibly fun to watch and is in my opinion , a scene stealer . He's that bad boy with a heart deep down . His story is sad and he's been through a lot without much happiness so it adds to his appeal bc I feel for him . He's always willing to fight for his friends no matter what it takes and is prolly one of the most well developed characters in the series . We have seen many layers to him and it adds to his appeal greatly. He's got personality and never fails in the entertainment category bc we are often wondering what he's up to next .

Xemnas the only member of organization 13 that actually acted like a nobody without emotion and turned out to be the most deceiving not to mention everything he said sounded sexual because of his voice lol

Well I was gonna say Axel/Lea since he's the only red head in the game.

RIKU BECAUSE....noreasonneeded

Lol did you see my topic bro? xD

Kairi... 'nuff said.

Other than her, RIku and Sora definitely.

My favorite character is definitely Riku. I relate to him the most. He's determined in his ways and has proven to be willing to go to dark measures to get what he wants. He longs for adventure and is more of a realist than an optimist. Most importantly of all, he's willing to help his friends through anything. Even in the very first game he fought off Ansem in the end in a last ditch effort to protect his friends. Ever since then he has grown a heart that sees the most important thing as to protect the things that matter like he said to Terra when he was a just a kid.

Sure, sure, Sora and Riku and whatnot stood out, but no appreciation for Roxas?

Everyone in the series knows what they want and they actively strive to get it, but Roxas is a guy whose purpose in life was handed to him by someone who wanted to exploit his abilities, which he didn't know why he had.  He didn't know any better, so did what he was told because he had no idea what else to do.  The Organization, being Nobodies, were the only people in his life who could possibly understand him, the only people he has--and even then, he was always locked out of the loop about their plans.  He made some friends, the only people who treated him as a person, but Roxas eventually lost them.  One ran away when she realized her and Roxas's true nature, and the other was determined to keep the Organization's secret plans a secret, regardless of his and Xion's personal wishes.  Roxas wants to know where he came from, but one best friend is keeping the truth from him, and the other knows the truth and must make him kill her for the good of everyone involved.

His determination to set things right ends up with him beaten, captured, and his memories wiped to think he's a normal boy living in a normal town.  Then that unravels when the Organization insists he returns to some grand former life he apparently had as a wielder of the keyblade, which he has no attachment to outside the weird dreams he has.  His peaceful life with his friends comes to an end when he gets his memories back.  I assume with the memories implanted into him to make him function in a normal life, it put it into harsh perspective just how much Roxas didn't have with the Organization.  Now he doesn't have anything--not in the Organization, not in a life he thought he had, nothing.  The truth he worked so hard to find?  Axel was right, he was better not knowing.  He's not his own person and he knows he must return to Sora.

Flash forward to DDD when Sora meets Roxas again.  At this point, Roxas is adamant he's not his own person, he has no right to be, so anything he felt is inherently irrelevant.  He isn't worthy to be what he wants to be because he knows Sora is more important than he'll ever be.  He's a guy who fought so hard to be his own person, to carve his own place in life, and how he's resigned himself to someone who now believes he has no right to any of it.  No right to happiness or a life where he can have his own wishes.  He doesn't matter compared to Sora.

The other characters have their big ambitions, but Roxas didn't want much and he didn't need much.  All he wanted to do was live happily with his friends.  Now he doesn't even have that.

I'll have ice cream with you, Roxas, if sea-salt didn't sound to sickening.

Lea, MX, and Vanitas

Goofy because he's one of the most intelligent characters in the series
