Posted June 28, 201312 yr Do you think that Final Fantasy XV will save the FF franchise for going downhill?
June 28, 201312 yr It really looks amazing, I wanted to buy it as soon as I saw that trailer. XIII wasn't very good in my opinin, so I hope XV will do it.
June 28, 201312 yr Looks like it to me. As long as it's not entirely linear with bad bosses, it might.
June 28, 201312 yr Um in my opinion The Final Fantasy series never went downhill, I loved XIII. The only time it went downhill was XIV's fault. But now look they're reviving it and they're are giving other great releases too I mean come on! I'm a die hard KH/FF/SE Fan so i'm happy of what they're doing and accomplishing. Can't for XV and III! ^_^
June 28, 201312 yr I think itll be a great game but in my opinion the final fantasy series is great the way it is
June 28, 201312 yr Heck yes. After X, the series went downhill in my opinion (MMOs don't really count, they shouldn't have been main series). XV looks amazing, though! I hope XVI will keep things in a good position, though.

June 28, 201312 yr I've seen many people who weren't happy about how the Gameplay looks. I'm pretty sure many will criticize that, despite if it's good or not.If it will save the Franchise from its bad reputation will show the critics overall, when it's released. June 28, 201312 yr XV's going to make or break it. The individual thoughts of the series never going down hill can possibly end up as nothing, because the loud majority seems to think otherwise, and they'll only grow stronger with that thought if XV ends up breaking it.I feel as if it'll be good, though.
June 28, 201312 yr Downhill? if you mean stop the changing, i dont think thats going to happen, fans who are looking for a clone of ff7 or ff6 they are going to be horribly dissapointed, its the same reason so many people hated 10 and 12, not to mention 13. 13 was in its own right a good game( i personally loved it and have replayed it quite a bit), just maybe not anywhere near the same as its predecesors, lightning and the group had a time limit so it wouldnt make sense if they took the time to free roam. 13-2 was also fantastic, while i can agree that people argue about 13 for good reason, and maybe it would have worked better as a movie. but 13-2 was a true in true out game, i understand some people ligitamitily dont like it thats fine we're all different but the majority of fans hated it for being different, it was in itself a compelling and deep rpg with tonnes of replay value and content. I dont think the ff series needs saving. the series does after all promise a different experience with every title. anyone who doesnt like modern ff games for being different will probably not like this either unless they look at it more enthusiastically and with a more open mind. that doesnt nececarily mean it or any of the other ff games to date have been "awful" . June 28, 201312 yr For some reason, people can't stand change. Nothing stays the same forever. To me, as long as I have fun playing the games, enjoy the story and graphics, it's a good game. I don't care what other people say, I'm the one to judge if I like it or not. I've always liked the FF series; FF XV interests me as well. I ignore the "official game critics" because some games they said were terrible, but I loved it (for example, PMD Gates to Infinity). /rambling
June 28, 201312 yr As much as i hate to admit it, it looks like XV will definitely destroy XIII, and probably be alot better. But its not like the series NEEDED SAVING TO START WITH. XIII was still great. XI and XII i felt were shit though. Edited July 18, 201312 yr by spiderfreak1011
June 29, 201312 yr I'm not sure the franchise needs saving. I thought FFXII was fantastic, and XIII is pretty good so far (I'm about 12 hours into it). But then, this game might blow those out of the water, and then we'll see.
July 28, 201312 yr While many of the "hard core fans" say the game play is moving to far from games roots and saying it's not a final fantasy game if it's not turn based i think those people are far from the truth. i never played final fantasy for the gameplay, that's not to say it's bad by any means it just was never my main focus, what makes or breaks a final fantasy game for me its the story and characters, what i really want is not just a good story and characters i want it to be memorable something i will look back at 10 or 20 years from now and go "that was an amazing game and one of the best of that generation" and then go find my copy of it and play it again Edited July 28, 201312 yr by Squall Leonhart
