Yaoi fans, Yuri fans, Hentai fans, and non-pairing people.

Posted

Even though you hate something someone else hates, doesn't mean you should post a status, comment, or whatever saying you do. Keep your opinions to yourself.

Example: Yaoi haters vs Yaoi fans: Outcome: BANNED. Person as an example: Firaga Sensei.

In real life, if you bully or try to kill a gay kid, you'll get arrested and go to jail. So everyone, KEEP YOUR GODDAMN OPINIONS TO YOURSELF!!! NO HATING, KEEP YOUR TROLLING STUPID ASS COMMENTS TO YOURSELF!

I thought we had the right to share our opinions...

My personal Opinion, this topic was not needed xD

But arent you making a post on something that you hate or am I just over analyzing this?

The fun of having opinions is that they are unique to each person and we (well in many places anyways) can express them freely. If you see an opinion you don't like that ISN'T directed towards you, just ignore it. Move on. People could have done one of teo things: ignored that status and gone about their night, or discuss it calmly and openly. But because we're human and we're pretty much born to fault, things get out of hand. Having opinions is fine, debating is fine, but some things just really go over the line. But this is different. It wasn't just an opinion. Since he was screwing around and doing that to purposely start an uproar, yes that's annoying and nobody wants that. I still think a temporary ban/a strict warning would have sufficed though. But then again I'm way too lenient. When other people told him to lock the status he really should've.Still I disagree with the whole "keep your opinions to yourself" thing b/c this is a public forum that's made for discussion. Just try to keep eveeything under control and NOT be a jerk okay, everyone? We can do it.*done now I think*Okay we see an opinion we don't like, move on pretend it was made of cookies and rainbows and smiley faces yaaaaay

He did lock it. He unlocked it temporarily and all that crap happened.

Well guess it shoulda stayed locked. He's one guy I didn't want to see banned :( I still say it should be a temporary thing. Shit happens and people just need to get over that.Holy shit Dracozombie liked my comment. Now I know I must be doing something right. You may not know it but I look up to you......."senpai"

That's what we've been talking about on Tinychat right now. Everyone's been overreacting. Heck, it was pretty much just a joke. Everyone overreacted. And now he's banned. He sent Daniel an email to try and get unbanned, so we're hoping for the best. I don't want to see my sensei have to leave... ;_;

I think it was only you, I dunno I left for a while when it exploded and then came back and read what was happening lol

The moral of the story is, no homophobic slurs.

Or more like don't justify your argument by just saying you hate it. If its a debate, at least justify it like a normal human being. You don't have to like it, you don't have to say it like it the subject came from the devils soul.

Kind of surprised Kaiso came up for that. xD

Her entrance comment was top notch.

Maybe the other side should be a little more accepting, too? Like, the slightest statement of "I don't like that pairing" and a yaoi/yuri fan will go absolutely mad and whine over what the other person said. I don't mind same gender relationships. It's the yaoi fangirls/yuri fanboys that bug me.

Eeeee I'm a senpai!

But really, I don't agree with keeping one's mouth shut about opinions.  I believe in the power of debate and analysis, and I've seen people on this site and beyond who think it's impossible to change anyone's mind so why bother?

And of course, there's a difference between expressing an opinion and expressing one's assholeness through trolling.

Lul yeah everytime I see you post something I go look because your opinions and posts are always so interesting and well-thought out.

whoa sorry for sounding like a creepy kid right there

And exactly, I mean if you have an expressing and want to participate in a legitimate debate that's fine but don't go around purposely being an asshole to your friends and a community you care about.

Still being myself I feel like a temporary ban would be good enough.

Ugh. Freedom of speech, blah, blah, blah. Opinions should be kept to yourself if their bad. Firaga should come back, but he shouldn't say anything about yaoi again.

PRO TIP : Temporary Ban is the way to go.

Bad? Now, Wolf. You know for a fact I dislike - borderline HATE - yaoi. Is my opinion bad? No,my opinion is neither bad or good, like everyone elses. What is bad is how people put forth their opinion, and when put forth right, there should be no problems. When putting out your opinion in the manner of trolling, or rudeness, then that person has delivered their opinion horribly and need to apologize for such.

People have the right to dislike. The right to talk badly of something. But something that should be agreed on, is the fact you should always be respectful of another's opinion. Outcrying to say "keep 'bad' opinions to yourself" is not effective, because it merely shows you're majorly pissed and want immediate and sometimes outrageous action, as you have done here.

Instead of going blah blah blah, how about you do the mature and amazingly effective counter-troll response of refuting his rudeness by being calm, collected, and showing yourself as the better person. As much as I hate atm being the better person, the fact that you prove you're being the better one, and not petty, is how you get people to realize they are being insensative jackasses. The ultimate way to defeat a troll is to treat him how YOU want to be treated.

Treat others how you wish to be treated. If you wish to treat Firaga badly, even if he has spoken wrongly about his opinion, then you deserve to be treated badly. This principle, while harsh, is one that not only you should think on, but should reflect upon as you look at how Firaga treated you, and how you now treat him. What's to stop you from, in your anger, hating on others who dislike yaoi?

Sandwhich rule Wolf. Make one, eat it, come back, and proceed to do what I did in the Guns in America thread; you make a wall of firetrucking text that's your normal calm, and proceed to blow them out of the water so badly they can't refute you without looking like a failure.

Actually, bullies get away with their deed because the victim usually commits suicide, and prosecuting the bully is REALLY tough.

Also: Follow Oathkeeper's advice.
