The actor was found dead at Vancouver's Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel.

Glee star Cory Monteith was found dead at Vancouver's Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel Saturday, The Hollywood Reporter has comfirmed. He was 31.

The actor was found at noon today on the hotel's 21st floor, Vancouver police said in a news conference. He checked into the hotel on July 6, and was expected to check out today. When Monteith missed his checkout time at noon, hotel staff went to his room and found him. 

 

Police said Monteith was with other people last night, but an examination of hotel video footage showed him returning to his room alone early Saturday.  Police to believe he was alone when he died. No cause of death was given and no foul play is suspected, police said. 

In March, Monteith voluntarily checked himself into rehab for substance abuse. He previously checked into rehab when he was 19. It was unclear why the British Columbia-native had checked into the Vancouver hotel.

Family, Vancouver police said, have just been informed. He had been deceased for several hours when he was found.

Monteith has played Finn on Glee since it debuted in 2009. He also has a role in the upcoming indie All the Wrong Reasons.

I'm sorry but he's a wonderful person and it's hurts really really bad that's he gone.

That's sad, he was a very good actor in Kyle XY & Glee. Hopefully they deliver good closure to Finn in Glee. 

I had never experienced his acting works, but I am glad to see he was loved, and I am sure he is too. He will be missed, but he will be still alive in the hearts who love him. 

Rest In Peace and Respect, Bother.

Honestly so sad. Huge Gleek here and I'm heartbroken at the loss of the PERSON, not the character. He was an incredible guy who made an impact on so many people but who, personally, had a lot of struggles. He will be missed. 

Obviously I am saddened by how Glee will work without him.  But even worse is that he tried so hard to make things better in his life, and this happens.  I do hope Glee gives him a proper tribute or something to give respect to one of their greatest stars.  Most importantly, much love and prayer is needed for Lea, his friends and family, let's all be sure that we give a real and sincere prayer for them.

 

He kicked off his career with this performance, only fitting that it was also his last...  RIP Cory Monteith...You WILL be missed.

Lol pacific rim hotel. I was half expecting him the article to say he was killed by a giant monster. Sad for his friends and family though.

Dude. You just did what Roxas did when Xion died. That person died and all you cared about was something else other  then that person dying. Like how Roxas only cared about Ice Cream when Xion was gone.

This is a real shocker for me.  He's so young and I didn't expect this to happen.  Rest in peace Cory.

Haven't seen Glee, but I have watched Kyle XY. Great show, amazing actor. This is sad news.

Not sure who this was (before the above posts) but I'm sorry to hear that. Best wishes to friends and family.

First time i've heard of cory, but i can honestly say after what you all said he is an amazing person and is going to be missed and mourned upon. I give my warmest sympathies to his friends and family and wish them the best of luck.

God dammit, he is an amazing actor and I am really going to miss him on Glee. Hope they do a good job with his characters ending (highly doubt it), and hope everyone he was connected learn to cope. I really feel bad.
