What do you think is the worst FF game?

Note: IVE ELIMINATED SAYING XIII(and its sequels) AS A CHOICE FROM THIS THREAD BECAUSE ALOT OF PEOPLE ON HERE HATE IT DUE TO ITS LINEARITY, SO I WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS THINK IS THE WORST FF GAME BESIDES XIII(and its sequels).

For me, i'd have to be XII.

The first one.  Damn.  Near.  Impossible.

X. I still really love it, though.

The battle mechanics of FFVIII are just way too weird for me to really enjoy it.

X though i might give it a second chance when the hd remake comes out

Final Fantasy X-2, XII, and XIV.

I can understand not wanting people to hate for the sake of hating, but if people have legitimate reasons for not liking XIII and friends, then let them not like it.

As for the question, I haven't played a FF game, so I don't/have no reason to hate any of them :3

But YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. Most people are biased towards XIII due to its Linearity. It makes it so NEARLY EVERY RESPONSE IS "XIII". :| I want to see more diverse answers.

VIII

and the characters are ranged from boring emos like Squall to annoying whores like Rinoa,to outright jackasses like Zell

and the Junction system is the most boring, unnessessary customization system I've ever seen in a JRPG

I couldn't replay this game ever again not even for super bosses and side mission and that isn't a good thing to say about a Final Fantasy game

It was VIII that marked the slow downfall of the series

And that's why the FF fanbase are on a competition with the Sonic Fanbase to see which one is the worst

with the Sonic Fanbase winning by a couple of points

X-2 undoubtedly. Really didnt enjoy it as much as others, but I dont hate it. One thing I noticed is you allways refer to people hating XIII for its linearity, as if thats the only thing bad about it?

Well, that's one of the things that sticks out about it the most, in most people's eyes. Well, at least for most of the people i've met.

Thirteen.

I didn't say XIII.

So, i take it FF Thirteen is the only FF game you hate(along with its better sequels that deserve more credit and appreciation) and you dont hate any other FF game. :| Typical.

So what if he doesn't like it. That's his opinion, and that's all it is. You make it sound like it's a bad thing.

Final Fantasy II is my least favorite of the ''Main titles''.Like the 1st game there's not much story in this game and there's no job system and its very easy to get lost and if you go a bit off track to where you suppose to go,the game throws at you VERY powerful enemies that guarantees an instant death, which is stupid.

But it wasn't bad,the soundtrack is amazing and The Emperor is one of the best FF villain,he's awesome.

I'd have to go with FFVIII, based strictly on the story. Everything else about the game is awesome. I love the music, and yes, even the battle system was very entertaining for me.

But the storyline... ugh. Ultimecia is easily the worst FF villain that I know of.

X-2 and 12.

The same answer as my least favorite game of all time: Final Fantasy XII/12. That game was just awful. The characters were mostly boring and unlikable (I probably hate Vaan more than I hate Cloud and Squall...), the story was just as boring, and the gameplay sucked.

7 and 8 are my other two least favorites. They're not bad, but not nearly as good as the rest. FF7 fanboys are gonna murder me now...

I think it's mainly from how everyone seems to hate XIII and the hate is getting a bit annoying.  I've never played XIII but I have to listen to so many people complaining about it, and like me, the OP wants people to pick on some other FFs for a change.  The people who like it are the exception.

Indeed. I would like this post but the damn quota...

Nope. I actually also dislike 12, X-2, I'm not big on XI, and I dislike VIII. I just hate XIII more then the others, and I'm not appealing to your power trip by dancing around the point. I do not like XIII.

Ok then.

THIS^ Seriously, too many people on here hate it and pick on it, but never pick on the other ones, and it gets too annoying.

None.

X-2. Unless you mean the main titles.

Here's the thing, though: no other game manages to be so thoroughly unlikable to me as XIII. There are elements of X and VIII which I really don't like, but I can still manage to overlook them because there are some really great things to be said for them. I just found I couldn't get anything out of XIII (and this really doesn't have anything to do with the gameplay so much as the story and characters).
