on the topic of getting rid of ash, i feel they should. they need to end his story and make some one new. Dont get rid of ash completely, make him the champion or something and have a new kid from a new region set off to beat him or something. but ashs story has been drug out just a bit too long in my opinion

Still I'm excited,because this is much better than Ash's entire journeys in Hoenn and Sinnoh

I was so happy to think they were going by the games, then its an OVA. Oh for god sakes just give us another anime series not involving Ash will ya?

I don't really have anything against Ash in those series, sure he comes across as a noob every time (especially in Unova) but the Hoenn and Sinnoh seasons were dragged down by all the contest episodes, imo. Dawn and May/Max were irritating and the contest filler episodes (on top of the other filler episodes) dragged down the rest of Ash's progression. Although still he was incredibly noobish...

 

The anime really hasn't been good since the end of the Johto journey... that isn't even because of the nostalgia of Ash, Misty and Brock either :l

 

This Pokemon Origin OVA might be something they are just trying, if it's a success they might make a mini-series or something it might be unlikely but never say never

I know that Ash's adventures are intended for younger fans of Pokemon and I'm totally fine with that

 

But the episodes aren't as good as they used to be in Kanto and Johto,and I'm not saying that because of nostalgia

 

I mean that in terms of the writing and Ash's determination to become the champion

 

From Hoenn until Unova he never gave a single f.uck about becoming the champion anymore

 

He loses in every single league and he always fall to the exact same tricks that Team Rocket been reusing since the beginning of the series

 

Not to mention how THEY TOTALLY RUINED TEAM ROCKET IN UNOVA

I was hoping it was going to be an entire series. ;-; I still wanna see it though! 8D

This looks so much better than the normal Pokemon series. MAKE IT A SERIES!!!

Red is way more awesome than Ash, but in a way, I get all nostalgic going back to the time when the first three pokémon movies were released. So I may be crazy saying this but, I like Ash and I want him to beat the elite four.

FINALLY we're getting rid of Ash Ketchum and getting an entirely new protagonst , as well as a new Pokemon anime. I might just start watching the Pokemon TV show again if this gets an English dub. I am so glad that we are finally getting rid of that noob Ash. I was really getting tired of him and how he ALWAYS loses in Pokemon championships. I hope we get to see Misty and Brock again. And I really hope this is at least a bit darker like in the manga except without the death scenes.

Well, that comment was made a little bit before I found out that this is just an OVA. I am now aware that this is just a 30 minute anime special to get hyped for Pokemon X and Y.

They can create a series that air alongside it instead of just ending it.Heck the Gundam anime has a dozen of series's under it's name so why not Pokemon 

 

if it ended,people will complain saying why they didn't continue it in a better way or why they're forcing a darker narrative on another series on children

 

You have to keep in mind that Pokemon is supposed to be kid friendly,Ash's adventure is supposed to appeal to those kids and to newer kids too

 

Besides,Ash has been the face of Pokemon(whether we like Ash or not) fora decade and a half since Pokemon's debut in Japan and even in America.Heck most of us here got introduced to Pokemon by the anime.

 

If they just took it away like that after creating more than 14 movie and almost 5 seasons they're gonna lose a lot of money,especially from their partners in Japan

 

Just because we don't like doesn't mean it should go away.

 

This is like saying Detective Conan(Case Closed)should end just because I don't like the new episodes and the way Senshi solves the cases

 

And Detective Conan has aired more than 700 EPISODES and it was airing in Japan long before Pokemon's birth

 

They need to make a second series to run alongside the first one,not just end it

Nope, these are Red and Green ;O The Rival in the first Gen is only called "Blue" in the Games. In the Manga Series he's called Green, because they added the Girl in the Game Series as "Green" but called her "Blue" in the Manga Series because the Blue Version was more popular and she's the 2nd Protagonist.Obviously they're using the Manga as some kind of model ... at least for the Names.Anyway, they could make good money with this. The 1. Gen is the least hated Gen and almost every Pokemon fan likes it. It would be a shame to keep this Anime Special in Japan.
