Today, as Jim played his video games, he thought about all the professional video game review/news companies, and how they often decide on a game of the year for each year. So Jim decided, KH13 should decide on a Game of the Year, decided by the members of the forum!

 

Yes, I know it's only August. But what I want to do is to ask all of you to post in this thread, saying which game YOU think was the best game so far this year, or what game you expect to be the best game this year, even though it hasn't been released yet. Heck, make a list of games you think deserve KH13GOTY13. And then, after there are enough votes on which games are the best, I'll take the most frequently voted games and make a poll, asking which of those games is KH13's opinion of the single BEST video game to be released this year.

 

And then maybe, to add some fun to it, one of us could make a custom "Game of the year" label, KH13 style, to be photoshopped onto a logo of the winning game. Just for fun. Why not, right?  

 

So, post your favorite games this year! I'll post my own opinion a little later. 

I think Pokemon X/Y will be the game of the year. Best game I've played so far? Probably DmC. I'm gonna get around to Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite soon, but Shadowrun Returns and Deadpool distracted me

It's gotta be Bioshock Infinite or The Last of Us.

The Last of Us or Bioshock Infinite. I can't possibly see it being anything else so far this year.

Hey, shut up, you. It might not have the best story/graphics, but I feel like it will be the biggest time sink for me it's the first Pokemon game I've been excited for since Gold/Silver... Whereas I have no desire to play Infinite or Tomb Raider. They look alright, but compared to the hype I have for Pokemon...Also, Beyond: Two Souls looks like crap based on all the previews so far.. And where's Watch Dogs on that list? D:

Watch Dogs should be sweet. Arkham Origins is probably my third most anticipated game after Pokemon and Watch Dogs. I've been watching all of the DC animated movies, and reading some comics... So that should be good. Really enjoyed City. The added multiplayer should be fun too.

I think the Origins multiplayer is gonna be like GoW Ascension, added it for the hell of it But I have hope for it.

I wouldnt really consider FFX/X-2 or KH1.5. They will both be great but at the end of the day they are just Remasters.

We all know Batman Arkham Origins will end up being the GOTY

If it doesn't win the prize there's no justice in this system

I would have to say Tomb Raider.

Pros:Fantastic Voice acting,

Nice Upgrade System,

Fantastic Story,

Amazing Characters,

And Physics-based Puzzles.

Cons:Can be killed VERY EASILY even on Normal,

One annoying as hell character.

Hmmmmm, I think this year has been kinda crappy on video games. I suppose The Last of Us and Bioshock Infinite are probably the best choices even though I don't care for the Bioshock series and I didn't really care much for The Last of Us. Beyond: Two Souls looks pretty damn good so maybe once that comes out and I have a chance to play it I may feel that would be Game of the Year material. AC 4 may be good, but considering AC 3 and what I've seen of it... I don't think it will be. Watchdogs comes out this year right? Definitely looks like it could have a shot. 

 

So I suppose for now The Last of Us is probably the best game of the year.

(I'm not trying to defend it, because I'm only a few hours into the game. It just annoys me when people say a game's overrated just because they don't like it.)

I'd have to put The Last of Us and Bioshock Infinite and GTAV, Watch Dogs, and Beyond: Two Souls are all something to look forward too as well, so they may be added to my list of GOTY.

Also, I'm going to say Pokemon X/Y would be my second choice, once that comes out. Mario and Luigi: Dream Team is good, too.

Sony/Naughty Dog Drones...all of em

 

The Last of Us is like a severely downgraded Uncharted...and the Uncharted Series wasn't anything Groundbreaking

All the 10's by reviewers just make it so obvious that the reviews were bought...cuz how can a game get a 10 when it's inferior to the first Uncharted Game

Metacritic is a bunch of BS

 

If you think this game deserves to be rated as high as Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 or the Batman Arkham Series...then you're insane
