How would you guys feel if the multiplayer in KH3 was in the form of a co-op mission mode that runs parallel to the main story. In this mode we could play as the other keyblade wielders that aren't Sora on missions given to us by Yen-Sid. Each mission would have specific characters so that it doesn't interfere with the continuity of the main story (Meaning you can't play as TAV if they haven't been saved yet, or Lea if he is accompanying Sora at that time during the main plot). You could of course play these missions solo as well.I Think this would be a great way to make every character playable and give them a prominent role in the story, while still allowing the core plot to focus on Sora.Tell me what you guys think.

Fool. If it was well done, i'd like it. 358/2 days multiplayer was amazing. I really liked it. There was a thread earlier about bonus worlds. Maybe the bonus worlds can be for multiplayer.

I'd like to choose who I am in multiplayer and not be forced into playing as someone I dun wanna be. I dun like the idea of matching it up to the Single Player Story either. I actually had my own thread of ideas for multiplayer and my ideas may be the cause of my opposition. I would love co-op though.

That sounds awesome. And yea I agree with Ma-Xemnas. 358/2 days multiplayer was well made. I would LOVE to see that type of multiplayer mode come back in KH3 with all new details, gameplay, and more. Co-op mode in BBS was fun, but the lack of a 4th player, the lack of Disney villains, and the lack of world exploration made it meh.

Yeah this sounds really awesome!

That sounds freaking sweet! :D

Wow I wasn't expecting many people to like my idea.  It's a shame that probably no one from Square Enix will ever see this thread haha.  Although I'm sure Nomura and his team have come up with something much better.  I still like throwing my ideas out there just to see what people think. Thanks guys!  :D

It's funny, Days is the only game in the series that I've never played.  I was completely unaware that a co-op multiplayer mode even existed before making this thread haha.

I didn't mean for it to be the only option for multiplayer.  In fact it would be more like just another part of the story where multiplayer is an option.

You put together the terms "Kingdom Hearts" and "co-op", and you then have me drooling. If done right, that could be super awesome.

I think you're on to something here... It has potential, if done right I think it would be really fun.

I dont know. I'd have to see it in action first.

We would have to see the game in action first before answering this question.

Seems like a good idea to me.

I"m a bit torn: on the one hand, I wouldn't want the co-op play to necessarily reflect on the main story, because then you would be missing things if you were to just play it solo. On the other hand, I wouldn't want co-op missions to not have any importance at all, because then there would be no motivation to play them. I think the best way to do it would be something like Portal 2, where you have an almost separate storyline going on, which still reflects on whats happening with the main characters in the main plot.

This.  Sooo much this.  It would be sorta hard to get the number of bad guys / difficulty in a fight properly balanced if you could switch between single and multi-player in the main storyline at will, and (for me anyways) it's pretty hard to coordinate 25+ hours of gameplay with a friend who is just as busy with their life as myself.  A separate but related storyline, however, would be pretty sweet if they decide to have a coop option.

That's more or less what I had in mind, I probably wasn't clear enough in my explanation.  The separate storyline could be played solo as well as cooperatively.  Where the main storyline would be considered "Sora's story", the other one would be considered "Eveyone else".  You would follow a linear plot that runs parallel to Sora's story while also intertwining with it at points, just like BBS did.  For example, if Mickey and Riku are sent on a mission from Yen Sid you could choose to either play as Mickey or Riku, as well as by yourself or with a friend.  Regardless of how you choose to play the story does not change, it is still a "Riku/Mickey" part of the story.  The next mission might be a training mission for Lea and Kairi and you could choose who you want to play as for this too.  There might be Riku/Kairi missions, Lea/Roxas missions, or even some missions with 3 or more playable characters, but regardless they all follow a linear plot that is important to the overall story.
