I actually don't like Riku.I don't know why... I just don't care for him. Do I hate him? No. Do I think he is not important? No... I just don't like him for some reason.

 

Are you sure you don't like him.  Being completely apathetic to him is different from properly disliking him.  

 

Edit: like I am completely apathetic.  I don't hate him but I could happily never play as him again.  I just never got into him.

Well,I honestly used to hate Riku especially in KH1 (DAT ASSHOLE TOOK MY KEY AND I CAN ONLY USE MAGIC NOW)

 

And I only started to like him in Dream Drop Distance where he redeemed himself and became a badass instead of your typical generic white haired dudes

Actually I was indifferent towards him, but more into the negative direction at first because my friend disliked him for some reason and I only started playing KH, but not with KHI, so there was a major game missing to get a good impression of him. So I thought, okay if she dislikes him it must have a reason. 

 

I played BBS, impression: CUTE.

I played Days, impression: no real opinion.

I played KHII, impression: pretty cool.

I played 3D: I LOVE HIM. (seriously playing as him was awesome and I preferred him over Sora)

I played KHI: too biased to dislike him now lol

I played re:coded: just Data Riku, but who cares, I LOVE HIM.

And from 3D on I asked her: WHY THE FIRETRUCK DO YOU DISLIKE RIKU?! but I forgot her reason..

same i didn't like him in the first game all up until he stopped ansem from getting to kairi and then i was like "okay he's not as bad as i thought" but he was stuck on that level till 358/2 days for me and then he became an alright guy since he was doing all that stuff for sora (i mean he gave up his body!!!) and then in 3D he was just a boss so i guess you could say i've grown to like him over time i'm just about to play as him in re:com and i'm looking foreward to it

I became apathetic for him because he reminded me of my old best friend who I don't care for or see anymore and now that I look back He was exactly like Riku and I was his Sora which make me now wonder if Sora would grow as I person or be better off without him like I am with my old friend

What's there not to like about him, he is the king of badass

He's not my favorite guy in kh, but i never had any reason to hate him(Apart from in kh1 but he redeemed himself). I actually cried when i had to kill him(I think) in coded D:. When compared to a lot of other game characters, he is one of my better choices. Though, I don't like him as much as i like his best friends.  signature and avatar totally don't give that away

 

But I have to say, he is one pretty smexy guy................ Just not as attractive as sora is to me >D *Shot*

I think Riku is my favourite to play as

I hate him as well, the little emo jerk.

I have a deeply rooted love for Riku because of his character development and relation to Sora and Kairi. I still find his essentially giving up of Kairi to Sora despite the love he obviously still holds for her as admirable and poetically tragic. It's fantastic story work. 

 

However, I think the aspect of Riku that I dislike is his ongoing battle with the darkness inside of him. I mean, it's another great arc for him. The first game saw his fall from grace, and then throughout most of the remaining series, he was trying to redeem himself, which in my opinion finally happened in KHII. Now, it came back again in DDD, and it'll likely play a part in KHIII since Ansem SOD is back again to harass him some more. I don't know, I was watching the cutscenes in DDD between him and Ansem and just thought "I've seen all of this already." At this point, he's tried eliminating the darkness, running away from it, hiding in denial about it, accepting it, and using it as a tool. It's starting to get old. I would love to see the next game add something new to spice it up, but we'll have to see. 

I only disliked him in KH1, then he redeemed himself for me in Re:CoM. I've always liked him after that. He wasn't around much in KHII, so it wasn't very justified. CoM was when he really started to shine, in my opinion.
