According to these sites, Director Tetsuya Nomura may be hinting at the return of 2 characters. The sites say it may be Roxas and Ventus.

They are both definitely going to return.

Duh,of course both will come back(btw,they're not the same,so no more ROXAS IS VENTUS bullshit),it's the final showdown with Master Xehanort so of course everyone will be there unless someone dies before the final battle

It'll be more than two characters returning. I think that's a given to anyone.

I thought KH3 is supposed to end the story for most main characters, so it would have to involve them. With Xion though, iunno how that would work.

Honestly, I figured that if Ventus was coming back, Roxas and his personality would just assimilate into him. He'd be both Ventus and Roxas, possessing the memories of both as if Roxas was literally living on as an amnesiac Ven during Re:Com/358. 

I thought KH3 is supposed to end the story for most main characters, so it would have to involve them. With Xion though, iunno how that would work.

Well according to Ansem the Wise in DDD, he mentions that many grew hearts of their own, even a puppet with no purpose. They grew ties to Sora's heart and in doing so were able to create/re-create a heart of their own.

That Ventus and Roxas will come back doesn't even need to be confirmed, it WILL happen. 

 

The comebacks I'm seriously hoping for are actually those of Marluxia's, Larxene's, Luxord's and Demyx's somebodies. Everyone else who is more or less important will possibly return and the main characters anyways.

I dunno...

Sora's the most mysterious piece to this huge puzzle.  Some call him the Key, others say he's just an ordinary boy turned hero by mistake. Sora's the only person to escape the Realm of Darkness with his heart in tact and needing no destruction of both his Heartless and Nobody. Sora's heart was never released from his body, but Ven's was and that's where Roxas comes in with having two hearts. Roxas was created from Sora's full being and Ven's heart. Having no memories of his past, due to Sora coming back earlier than expected thanks to Kairi's pure light from being a Princess.  Another thing to note is Namine. Though she's Kairi's Nobody, Sora's body and soul were used alongside Kairi's heart to create Namine. So in technicality, Namine is dual-person Nobody.  Sora's ties to each character lead to a growth of a heart, recreation of a heart, or a change of alliance. The ties between Sora and all other characters are within their hearts. Basically, it's a chain of hearts, all linked together. In other words, a kingdom of hearts.  If Sora's friends in his heart are his power, then I'm gonna be the first to claim him to be the almighty, unknown, unwitnessed, Kingdom Hearts.

I think you're putting too much emphasis on it. I rather like the idea that Sora is just one piece to a larger puzzle. Sora isn't Kingdom Hearts, EVERYBODY is Kingdom Hearts. The bonds of the hearts linking everybody together creates it, not to mention the hearts of the worlds themselves. 

Of course Roxas and Ventus are gonna come back (well more of chance of Ventus then Roxas.) But come one! It's obvious Ventus is coming back. He's gonna be waking up, and most likely Terra and Aqua are coming back too. It's obvious really...
