My mom doesnt like that i have a girlfriend so whenever i ask her if i can go out she only allows me to go if i have a group of friends with me. She also pretty much blows up in my face when i ask to just go on walks cuz she doesnt like it that i want to see my girlfriend every few days. Is there any way I can reason with my mom?

It's cause she's a hure

Honestly if she won't reason and it were me, I would just say I'm meeting up with people and meet up with whoever I want.  Some parents are just too controlling to reason with.

My mom used to be the same exact way with my girlfriend and my best advice is, given that your family doesn't have some deep emotional reason to hate her personally, you should have her over to your house to watch a few movies and let her grow on your family. If she has a likable personality then your mom will eventually understand why you want to be around her and be a little more sympathetic. Sometimes these things just work themselves out in time if you don't give up on them.

well i would do that if my dad didnt tell her that i had a girlfriend. Now that she knows though she basically gets suspicious of everything i do.

my mom says that i can't bring girls over unless i want to marry her. And its not like she said that yesterday, she's been telling me that since i was in elementary school.

Nah, dating is overrated. Sitting at home playing Disney video games and drinking Mountain Dew is a much more important activity.

Maybe you should start with figuring out why your mom hates her. I mean, I understand a protective mother not wanting you to bring home a girl prematurely, but I doubt that's the only reason she dislikes him. If you find out why your mom doesn't like her, then you can reason with her and work out some sort of agreement.

Worst case scenario, if you don't think you and this girl are forever and your mom still disapproves, you may need to break up. The stress of your mom will just eventually drive you apart anyway.

Well mother's intuition is usually right

She's scared your girlfriend will ruin you or something

To reason with her just let your mom get to know her more, and ask why she feels the way she does. Don't argue though, that'll only worsen the situation.

Fool. Tell your mom your girlfriend is saving herself for marriage. Worked for me.

I disagree actually. As a person with a stubborn arrogant mother I can say that your mother is not always right. Mothers in general care about their children and want the best for their children, that is why your mom is so scared of you having a girlfriend.

My mom does the same to me, I can't change her mind at all about the views she has so its extremely tough to deal with it.

If you really love your girlfriend, go out with her anyways. Try to lie your way out, but as a white lie.

If you don't love her too much but you like her, then I suggest you talk about it with her and talk about the situation. You both need to think of something.

I think parents need to understand that there is a time when they can't hold your hand anymore.  Somethings in this world you have to learn on your own.  Dating and friendship are some examples.  I once had a "friend" who my mom saw going through my private stuff, but she didn't tell me and let me figure out that she wasn't my friend on my own.  Because of that, I can make better choices.

Yeah you're right I guess that doesn't apply to everybody. Also I just said usually, not always, because there are times when my mom couldn't be farther from right lol

I totally understand, you and I are in kinda the same situation. Is this your first girlfriend?

Man, i hate it when people don't like my girlfriend

Why would anyone not like your right hand? Is it covered in tatoos? Does it smell bad? (Probably smells bad...)

ok sorry that wasnt really communicated properly. its not that my mom personally hates my girlfriend its just that my mom is overly concerned and its really stressing me out.

thats exactly the reason why she is concerned and I just wanna know how i can reduce the stress my mom feels without breaking up with my girl. I know she gets mad out of love, but i really cant think of a way to make my situation any better for the both of us

actually one of her main concerns is that i will get her pregnant so that may work lol.

wow i can totally relate to you. However, i dont want to lie to my mom. I was going to before, but when the cat was out of the bag i decided i would tell my mom the truth when i ask to go out.

that's pretty much what how i think my mom should feel.

Yes she is my first girlfriend

Well I think if you value your relationship with your girlfriend, you should respectfully stand up to your mom and make it clear that this is something you're set on keeping and that, as a 17 year old, you're old enough to be making these kinds of decisions. You're almost an adult and one of these days you're gonna have to be your own man regardless of what your mother says. She'll have to let go of you pretty soon anyway and she has to know that you're not a kid anymore before she'll respect that you can handle adult relationships now.

Also how close are you to your girlfriend? Would you say that you're in love with her yet or are you still in the shaky stages?

Just a question, but is your family christian or anything?

i would say i'm pretty close to my girlfriend. I dont want to say i'm in love with her because i'm probably just really infatuated. She seems to feel really close to me too. And one time when she knew i didnt have my phone on me she sent like 100 text messages to annoy me, and like 3 said that she loved me. Whether she meant it or not i dont know, but i do know that she's very affectionate of me.

My family is Catholic

I hate people that just make accusations like that, i'm left handed
