I personally thought the Moms just slept on the table in the kitchen.  Kitchens seem to be the only parts of the main characters' houses besides the bedroom.

I like how Pokemon fixed some errors that were talked about throughout the internet. Also they added in the hotels that they originally planned to have in the original games
