Yet when I fight them in online games like Smash bros or Mario Kart they don't seem to be all that skilled compared to me (though probably because my gaming skills are so OP). Some people are better at games than others. Race doesn't matter. There is always somebody better than you.

Edit:(forget to post this too:) japanese peoples play this like hell pro, I mean doesn't matter where you come, but in japan many hellhard game availabe than here, and they has bigger chance to get this hard like games.

You could look at it at a cultural-social point of view on why it seems that way.

Most asians, deriving from the stereotype, want their children to succeed in their academic life. This is why they shelter their child in more than most western children who are able to go outside a lot. They want their kids to be more incline on their studies than their social life, so of course their children look for other ways to have fun. Then they play video games, and of course with the internet involved, you get to learn more about this game on how to play a lot more. If you spend hours on a game and also time on your academic life and not go outside like half of the asian population does, then yeah, they are some bound to become hardcore players.

 

But this can happen to anyone, its not really that of a race thing but if you want it to be a society/cultural thing then sure here is the answer, but anyone can have a similar situation no matter what race you are.

I don't think it's that all Japanese gamers are just inherently more hardcore (better). It's just that the hardcore Japanese gamers are inherently better.

Yeah, the Japanese aren't that hard. But they also have different taste in games in general than we do, so it's all a matter of opinion. Like how we think bullet hell games like Touhou are impossible, they see FPS games in the same light.Korean Starcraft players, on the other hand...

Your not being racist, your talking about JPN as a region where there's a lot of gamers... Not saying that Japanese people are good at games.. But instead people living in Japan are good gamers

Through years of observing I have found three major factors play a roll in the skills of people, talent, zeal, and drive.

Although I am going to take this down the analytical approach so, I will just leave it as:

 

People are mixed and race by itself does not add up to who is better at something.

Fun fact: Of the top 150 people in the current Pokemon X/Y battle season, only 15-20 or so aren't from Japan. ._.

 

But yeah, it's not specifically because they're Japanese, it's just because different people have different levels of skill. Also, as for games from Japan, the Japanese audience typically gets more time to practice than other countries since they get most of their games before any other country does.

As I have already said , a gamer is just a gamer . There ain't any "hardcore " gamers . It's just that some people play games more time than other people do.
