So a thing that has been bothering me a bit is that America is getting the better collector's editions(FF Lightning Returns,FF X/X-2 HD Remaster). And I ask.Why don't they sell it in Europe as well?

This has always occurred.

Japan gets everything.

North America gets most things.

Australia and Europe get some things.

I could name many things Australia & Europe have missed out on such as games, releases, merchandise etc but it's not worth it.

I don't know...

Also, they didn't translate KH 3D to Spanish and Italian. We'll never know why.

They don't translate Kingdom Hearts or FINAL FANTASY games to other languages anymore, simply they just put in subtitles.

Because they think I wouldn't sell well in Europe...same thing is with other companies and also with some games that never arrived in Europe or just in part of Europe or  not localized.  I have to live with it too.   :  >.<  :(

I'm not saying voice acting, I'm fine with the english one. But Dream Drop Distance was never released in spain or italy. And I don't know why they wouldn't want such an important game for the saga into differents languages.

Now I'm afraid they won't translate KH3 either...

A likely reason for this is that the Japanese and North American markets for JRPGs is so much larger than the Australian and European markets. Just look at the sales, they have so many more copies of releases sold in Japan and North America. Largely this of course due to the population, but it's the truth. If you are so desperate for something, you can most of the time just import it. The Collector's Editions of LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII and FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster are perfect for importing.

Amazon.com is a much better option.

Because European mostly buys shooters and sport games, just look at the top 10 selling games....it's the same every single week

True Story...I don't own a single shooter and i am proud of it xD

North Americans buy them a lot too. Madden NFL is one of the highest selling games in the U.S.

Why is no one caring about Brazil? Be thankful you at least have some games. To this day I've only seen one game in Brazilian Portuguese: Batham Arkham City: Game of the Year Edition, but still voiced in English.

Other than that, and what appears to be a pirate translation of GTA: San Andreas, I've only heard that Amigo Piñata got a Brazilian version, and saw about three games in European Portuguese or having European Portuguese as a language option: Jak 3, Jak X: Combat Racing, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, out of which only the latter was voiced in this language.

At least the US charts has some variety every once in a while

in Europe however,if it isn't Call of Duty,Battlefield,Fifa or Madden games you'll find nothing on their charts aside from those

Heck the top 10 selling games consist of just those games I mentioned above with each have both versions of it charting somewhere like Call of Duty on 360 at No.1 and Call of Duty on Ps3 at No.1

Not to sound rude, but that's exactly it. South America isn't cared about much.

Madden NFL sells that well in Europe? Thats odd. I know there's a large following in England for the Patriots and London games sell out fast but still.

Be grateful atleast, how about the rest of the world.. paying extra money to import the games. Yet we still a hardcore Kingdom Hearts + SQEX fans :,D

What are you talking about? Australia and Europe have to import games more than other countries.

Just face it it doesn't sell well where u guys live to redeem the special treatment and also here in America a lot of people are into the collectors edition

Wow, a bit harsh. As I said population plays a massive factor in that. But yeah, I've accepted the Collector Editions after my annoyance of it. I'll never forgive Square Enix for not releasing Re:Chain of Memories on PS2 in Australia or Europe but it's not such a big deal now that we have the HD remaster.

http://www.xtralife.es/ This is a Spanish online shop, and the most preordered games are LRFXIII and FFX|X-2 Remaster, and the same happened when KH1.5 was released. SQEX games are very well sold the first weeks after their release, specially in countries like England and France, but they're just not that popular here because they don't advertise it at all. Personally, I have never seen a KH spot in a Spanish TV.

They don't translate Kingdom Hearts or FINAL FANTASY games to other languages anymore, simply they just put in subtitles.

But I think they would sell a lot more here if they dubbed the games. KH2 was dubbed to Spanish and that helped the KH Spanish fanbase to grow a lot. Or just look to games, which SE does not develop (but publish), like Tomb Raider. It was dubbed to Spanish and it sold a lot of copies here. Also, they didn't even translate the story of KH3D (not even subtitles) to Spanish and Italian, when they could have translated at least the story, like with Dissidia 012, which had multiple-language subtitles for the story and the menus in English.

Japan is most Japanese companies primary concern.

NA divisions want to encourage their people to buy their copies instead of importing (cause it's easier in the states)

European companies either don't see it as cost effective to include the extra pieces when they've done it for so long without that they know if you want the game you will buy it.  Additionally the fan-base far as I know isn't deemed large enough to justify the production cost of collection pieces.  Which is a shame, cause I know tons of people who would happily lay down the extra cash (myself included) for a collectors edition of a KH game, we're just never given the chance.

Furthermore on topic with the responses the US is just as into FPS (it's dominating most markets) as Europeans, take Black Ops for example, 4.2 million copies sold in the US on release whereas only 1.4 million sold in the UK (I live in Northern Ireland).  The reality more than likely has to do with the fact that NA is a massive freaking chunk of land (thus a huge, I assume diverse, population) so they can spread the cost more smoothly over tons of copies that they know will get sold.  SQEU has to fly it's stuff out to Europe (since it's based in London) which costs money.

Plain and simple: they're jealous of Europe

Well now we are even for you being rude to me the other day but it's just the honest truth. The fan base here in America is bigger than you and Europe so why put the time and effort that isn't going to sell.

I wasn't rude to you. And being even?....

If it wasn't going to sell they wouldn't have made Square Enix Europe.

I almost wish they never released Xenoblade or whatever it was called in the Americas just so you lot could experience what we PAL regioners often go through.
