Seriously, ever since they started that thing I wish they have never thought of it. (3DS version) I did begin to make one once, until I got to a part where they wanted 50 cents from a credit card. I know that isn't a lot, but my mom is the kind of person who doesn't give their credit card number to anyone. I then just exited kinda disappointed, and thought "Maybe I can see if there is any new videos or download something free from the Eshop." I then found the legend of zelda four sword that was free, and I went to download it. I then found out that I needed the Network ID :( When I went to videos I found one on the Nintendo ID and decided to watch it. There was no mention of a credit card, and I got pretty mad. I then decided to download some free software or demo to take my mind off of the ID, only to find out that I DID need the ID to download both.

So now the Eshop is basically useless to me. (I don't have any way to add funds currently) That is why I ask for your help KH13 users. Everyone who has the same problem, join me! (others can join to) We can build a strong army and get my message out to Nintendo, somehow!

Let Nintendo know that because of the ID thing, they are losing MONEY from me and lots of others! (demos, games on there, etc.) And in order to have our forgiveness and money, they should allow us to download one free game, AND download 1 piece of software for free, regardless of the stupid ID! (plus maybe make majora's mask 3d)

I just need your help to make my voice louder with your voices KH13 users

I never got charged when making one- so I'm gonna assume the problem you're facing is because of what itsameluigi said

Wtf Nintendo? You've got ten billion in the bank, why take 50 cents off kids?

Nintendo wants their milk money, that's why.

They only charge you if you're 13 or under. :O

*sigh* goodbye four swords adventures.

The only thing that I have a problem with it is every time I turn on my Wii U, I have to put it in there to start playing. But I never had to pay anything for the ID, so the only complaint is the constant having to sign in part.

next thing you know, they charge $10 from people over 30

Fool. Lie about your age.

I really doubt it. The only reason the charge is there is to make sure kids' parents are okay with it. Nintendo purposely chose a small amount because making sure the kids have their parents consent is the only reason it exists.

They only charge if you 13 or under, so just make a new Nintendo ID and make yourself like 20 years old. Thats what everyone does to avoid this. :

My 12 year old  brother has a 3DS and registered his ID under the age of 30

So yeah....who in their right mind write his real age while registering an ID???

Heck on Xbox Live most things are locked if you're registered under 13

and on all next gen consoles you have to pay for Gold subscribtion if you want to play online.....which is about 20$ or 30 Dollars...not cents

So it's not like Nintendo is the evil one who only do such thing and besides.....it's cents not dollars

Also, really??? you demand 40$ dollars game to be given you for free because of 0.50 cents ???

I didn't have to put it when I start my Wii U so I don't know what's happening with you

That's if you put a password on your profile so no one would use yours. I've never had to sign into my network ID manually after setting it up. It automatically does that for me. I only put a password in cause I dun want others messing with my save files and profile.

Like everyone else said, that's just to confirm that your parents know that you're making on. It's literally only for people under the age of 13. It's just 50 cents, and Nintendo doesn't do anything with your credit card information. It's really nothing to get worked up over. :/

I put in my real age, mainly because I feel guilty otherwise. I tend to feel really guilty easily when it comes to things like that. Of course, being 16, it really doesn't make much of a difference otherwise. The only time it's screwed me over is when I found out I couldn't view the eShop page for Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies, aside from that, I don't really care about a lot of the stuff that would be blocked since it doesn't interest me. If there's a game I want that is M rated, I can just get a physical copy and not have to worry about it. :/

People likes to over exaggerate things and overblow them out of proportions just to prove a point that doesn't exist like claiming that Nintendo is EEEEEEEEEVIIIIIIL AND IT'S REAL PRESIDENT IS NICOLAS CAGE GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Seriously every other company does that,PSN doesn't let under 13 views mature content, and so is Xbox live

Yeah. I seriously don't see why people are making 50 cents out to be such a big deal. I didn't even know this existed until my brother tried making an account the other day. :/ And don't PSN and Xbox Live use direct credit card transactions along with prepaid cards, too? I haven't used PSN in a year so I don't remember that well, but still.

PSN is free on PS3 if you're above 13 but on Ps4 you have to have a PS Plus account

They made it a big deal because it's Nintendo,if it was Sony they'll chant how generous and Caring Sony is with the 50 cent

It's 50 cent... A HALF DOLLAR!!!

IT'S NOT EVEN 1 DOLLAR PEOPLE...CALM THE F*** DOWN

I meant to get money on your account to buy games or DLC. Can't you use a credit card to put the money on your account, too? But yeah, seems like a lot of people are complaining about Nintendo for doing the same things Sony or Microsoft do. :/ but yeah, 50 cents isn't bad at all.

it was a joke .-.

I know, but it was a good way to open my explanation of why the charge exists. :/

Your persuasion to Nintendo is they are losing out money from you because you cant get an ID, yet you only want it to download free stuff anyway. Logic.
