"Star Trek" legend Leonard Nimoy is suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
The veteran actor, 82, known to millions as Spock in the hit sci-fi show, blames his years of smoking for giving him the lung condition.
He sparked fears for his health last month when he was pictured in New York sitting in a wheelchair and attached to breathing apparatus, and he has since told fans he is suffering from the illness.
In a post on his official Twitter page, Nimoy writes, "I quit smoking 30 yrs ago. Not soon enough. I have COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). Smokers, please understand. If you quit after you're diagnosed with lung damage it's too late. Grandpa says learn my lesson. Quit now. LLAP (Live long and prosper)."
From Rob: Please children of KH13, do not smoke at all(I'm sure you know this, but people still end up doing the illogical thing and start smoking anyway). Not one time. Not two times,.....but ZERO! Thank you for reading.
