The fact that Nintendo is going to shut down the Nintendo wi-fi for both the Nintendo Wii and DS. Imo this is a really stupid way to force people to buy the Wii U/3DS. Basically Nintendo's saying "Hey fans, if you want to continue playing games online, you have to buy our new system. And to make sure you do so, we're going to disconnect the wifi from our previous system so you'll have no other choice. Isn't that great? =D". I mean, yeah sure Nintendo's a business company and they have to do anything to gain money from our wallets but disconnecting the the wifi from the Wii? That's bull crap. Especially since the Wii U and 3DS are backwards compatible to Wii/DS games. I love Nintendo but I kind of don't like how they're trying to make the Wii look as useless and inferior as possible  That just seems like a bad business decision in my opinion, especially for those that still have their Wii's/ and can't afford a Wii U/ yet. This is really just screwing them over. As well as making the Wii U and 3DS's backwards compatibility look a little bit useless if you want to play against other players around the world. I mean there are people who still play Mario Kart Wii/DS, the main titled Pokemon DS games, Super Smash bros. Brawl, ect online and this kind of feels like a kick in the balls. I feel bad for people who still own a Wii but not a Wii U because in a few months they're gonna get screwed. I mean sure those games can still be played with friends/solo but it's more fun to play them against other players from different regions.

Uhhhh this again?

People had EIGHT YEARS to pick up a Wii and a DS so it;s their fault not making use of all that time

second of all, running servers requires money,of which they can use to improve the online of the Wii U and the 3DS so it won't be as horrible as Brawl's online

It's not a kick in the balls,it's called moving on and improving your current stuff instead of standing still in the past

Microsoft shut down the original Xbox servers 2 years ago and people thought it';s okay but when Nintendo does it they're evil???

FOR F***S SAKE GUYS MOVE ON THIS IS STUPID!!

At least the Virtual console(which is the most important out of the WiFi servers) is still up

And shutting down the old tired Wi fi servers was the best decision they can do not only to improve their new servers, but to actually encourage people to move on,upgrade to something else like how people upgraded from the original Xbox to 360

Please tell me ONE person who still plays Battle Revolution Online! Please Tell me one person who wants the horrible online of Brawl to stay as it is in Smash 4

Those games won't last online forever just like the original Xbox games that supported online.

If you want Smash 4 to have a superb online experience unlike Brawl's online, let them move on to the servers they should be focusing on more which will improve online for future games not just Smash 4

Also,Can't afford a Wii U??? The thing is very cheap in price compared to the others, you can find it for 299$ compared to the Ps4's 399$ and Xbox One's 499$ heck you can even find it at a cheaper price Some Amazon offers sell it for 230$ or even less

Do you honestly and geniunely expecting them to keep those old dying servers on forever???

Nintendo should just die altogether. They're failing as a gaming company. They can't keep up with Sony, Microsoft, or PC. All they do is make the same game over & over again anyway. Every franchise they own is milked so hard. They don't know how to do anything new. How can the fans move on if the company won't even move on?

Square Enix and Capcom will probably do before them even though I don't want that

Nintendo has over 10$ billions in the bank,so it's gonna be a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time before they even think to close door

Also,I don't know how wishing unemployment for people who work to feed their families is a good thing.

They have till May 20 to save money to get a Wii U and/or 3DS-2DS, if they can't save up money for atleast the 3DS-2DS, well bad for them, they still have around 2 months, they should be able too. If they are older(more than 10), they can just go and mow some lawns, they can probably get the money for both consoles in around 3 weekends, unless they get paid badly for mowing the lawns. It is not that hard to get the money, the people are probably just lazy.

The people complaining should just shut up, Nintendo have supported the Wii for 8 years, and the DS for 10 years, they should be thankful, that they have supported the consoles for a decade. The 3DS have been out for 3 years already, it is obvious the DS online was soon to die, the Wii U have been out for a year, sure it is a bit premature, but the console needs it, anyway the game that most people play online and do not complain is Mario Kart, and Mario Kart 8 is releasing 10 simple days, after the closing of the servers.

Anyway, lets be honest for a moment, till some weeks ago, nobody cared for the online services of the Wii and the DS, if anybody talked about the online services, it was to complain how bad it was, and how they should just shut them down. But now, that what they have been saying for so long is occuring, they are crying that they shouldn't do it, well bad for them, they didn't even liked the online services in the first place, so I don't see the problem, Nintendo just did what they have been asking for such a long time.

If they complain because they recently got a Wii or DS, well bad for them, the successors are out and easily available, it is not NIntnedo's fault that they couldn't type some simple words on Google, and learn about the consoles, plus the Wii Mini exists for a reason, after the release of non-online version of the Wii, it was obvious something was going on, so bad for them.

@NO__HEART__XIII: So you want to see 7,183 unemployed people, with no way to feed their families? Do you want to see the videogame industry go stale, if the "Twins" are the only one that survive?

How are they failing? Last time, I check, the 3DS was the best selling console of 2013, the Wii outsold the PS3 and Xbox 360, and the DS got close to PS2 sales numbers, sure the Wii U is slow in sales, but that is because their is no blockbuster, 2D Mario is not a system seller, 3D Mario is not a system seller, Pikmin is not a system seller, and the list goes on, till Mario Kart 8 the WIi U will continue with its low sales.

They are making the same games over and over? Well thank god, that they do not do yearly releases, have Day One  DLC or/and DLC only ending, like other companies. Anyway, which company have not been doing this? Square Enix does it, Capcom does it, Activision does it, Ubisoft does it, even Sony does it with their small library of first party games, so if you are going to wish dead on Nintendo simply because they do the same game over and over, then you should doom the whole videogame industry along with Nintendo.

tell nintendo to get out of 2006 and catch up with sony and microsoft

A vacuum cleaner. *badum tssss*

Playing online on DS and Wii is shit anyway.

Because online means facing others and not features otherwise means soon impossible features, unlockables, etc.

Not that it's a big chunk of games, but still... Oh and good luck whoever doesn't want hacked mons. (can't check well on XY.)

Playing online  is shit anyway, for non pure online games.

Fix'd, by pure online games I mean games that doesn't even have single or anything, and the price is low for them, like TF2(which is F2P, so there is no price anyway, and  thing you can get  from paying are only hats hats and special weapons, but no by the stats.).

For me, anyway, I don't buy a game because of online because:

1.Most games have bad multyplayer anyway

2.Many players are just bad at the game, or don't understand the online.

3.Games cost money, I won't pay that money only for online which would be probaly bad for me anyway.

And some others.

Also, since most of WII and DS games are old, I don't think the multiplayer "alives" anyway.

Exactly, most of the games did have bad multiplayer. And the DS and Wii have been dead for awhile now.

And even for "pure online games" you find the company who made them shutting down the servers after a while anyway.

I guess it kinda does suck but I found there weren't many games I used for online any ways.

The DS for me was all about the local play with friends and I rarely played games online. The Wii didn't have that many good online titles either, I didn't know anyone with The Last Story so I couldn't enjoy that games online features and Smash Bros. Brawl was the laggiest game ever for me online and I felt it was easier to just play against people I knew irl. However, I really did enjoy Mario Kart Wii online, that was hands down the best online game on the Wii.... but at the same time Mario Kart Wii got boring and I haven't played it in ages because I played it to death. Mario Kart 8 is out soon so I'll just move on to that game for fun online.

I can see why people are annoyed but personally I couldn't care as I don't play my old DS or Wii games to play whatever their online features are.
