About IGN's "Worlds we want to see in KH3" mumbo jumbo...

Posted

Okay, so I'm kinda curious about something.

The other day, IGN's official facebook page posts a link to this on facebook:

http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/04/23/10-worlds-we-want-in-kingdom-hearts-3?utm_campaign=fbposts&utm_source=facebook

Now today, they post a second link to the same page, as a reminder for us to see it. There doesn't seem to be any reason to post this, as we haven't gotten KH3 news since I think around November.

That being said, something makes me suspicious about this. Like, I've seen them post stuff like "10 cool things that are in GTA 5" or "25 vaguely interesting things we see up link's buttcrack in Legend of Zelda" or stupid stuff like that, but those are always either meant to evoke nostalgia or get interest in a new game or whatever. the ones meaning to get us interested in a game are usually around a time when that game would be relevant.

So what I'm wondering here, is this: Do you think that Square kinda whispered in IGNs ear, and basically told them to try to increase interest in KH3 because they may have something to show in the near future? I think this is a definite possibility, since we have E3 on the horizon and they may have new info there.

What do you guys think?

I think IGN is a bundle of sticks

I feel like it is almost confirmed that we will get some sort of Kingdom Hearts 3 news at E3 this year.

The Link's buttcrack one sounds like an interesting watch, I had been considering making that myself. It's a shame they beat me to it.

Square Enix wouldn't have told them to do that.

Well , I don't really think that SE needs that kind of help , anyway .

IGN's 10 choices are garbage star wars, the muppets, and marvel are terrible choices. IGN is like Machinima, there both bad at making predictions and reviews.

I've always taken what IGN says with about a whole shaker worth of salt, so I don't think they would be savvy to any info that we aren't at this point.

Prince of Persia ing just saying. Bad list yeh.

They're probably trying to generate hits on to their articles for revenue.  I used to write for a video gaming site similar to IGN, and the companies try to bring as many viewers as they possibly can so that they can make some good $$.  I highly doubt that Square Enix was involved; I don't think they'd bother with something like that.
