It's not. It's not made by Square Enix, it's not even published by them. Only the games are canon.

They aren't considered canon.  Like most game manga's, they do offer up some parts that are great at explaining different points that have never fully been delved into in the games, but they contain other parts we never see mentioned or see in the actual games, like Vexen making a ton of replicas of himself.

Nope, but I think the novels are canon.... I'm Not sure tho.

Nope, Shan-Yu did not die due to a headshot from Xigbar, nor did a Vexen Replica kill Xaldin

Fool. Is KH manga considered canon the the KH franchise? No.

You just need to read it to see that it's not.

Not surprise by all of your answers because if a manga comes out after the game I think the manga would be non-canon. If it's the straight opposite  then it's canon. This is a guess.

The novels are even less canon than the manga.

That's why I said I'm not sure.

...What? Kingdom hearts... Novels? I never knew that! Where can I download them online for free buy them?

...it's published by Gangan, SE's own manga department.

That said, no, the manga isn't canon to the games.

The novels are more ambiguous, but I'd probably consider them secondary/semi-canon (as in "canon" unless directly contradicted by the games); the author does have a say in the overall plot of the series (most notably Days), and the Final Mixes (especially 2FM) have been known to adapt novel scenes/concepts. And they give neat info and insights besides.

When I say "yes", I mean certain things can be considered canon, or at the very least, complimentary to the franchise. Certain things like insight into how the characters think and how certain events may have happened in the first place can be considered as possibilities as to why things are, rather than direct explanations. For instance, the novel explaining how Roxas and Axel freed Diablo (the crow) at Hollow Bastion in general is an early idea as to how Roxas's daily life in the Organization was like, though it is clearly outdated with 358/2 Days filling that role (Why did everyone think that Roxas's whole experience was so gloomy before Days came around? Being Sora's Nobody, being a cheerful kid suits him much better, in my opinion.). However, the one thing that sets it apart is the fact that it offers some form of explanation as to how Diablo, and by extension Maleficent, showed up out of nowhere in Kingdom Hearts II to begin with. It also explains why Organization XIII would want to have someone like that running around in the first place, to create even more Heartless to be destroyed by the Keyblade wielder, thus allowing them to gather more hearts. The Birth by Sleep novels (or was it manga? I have yet to see any scans of either...hint hint DChiuch...) also allow some further insight into how exactly Vanitas works. You got to see how he was created in BbS and how that affected Ven, but how did it effect Vanitas? The extra story allows some explanation as to how Vanitas feels as a piece of someone else and a creature of pure emotion, pain, and darkness. It allows what was arguably such a two-dimensional villain (though still one of my favorites) and gave him another dimension of depth, of why he so desperately wanted to fuse with Ven, about why he felt they needed to forge the X-Blade, and why he was desperate to grab hold of it again once he was defeated. That's something that for some reason or another Nomura decided not to delve into, or at the very least depict on either version of the game itself, which is really a shame, Birth by Sleep Final Mix could have really benefited with some more cutscenes like that. Maybe they'll try something like that for 2.5, but I doubt they'll really go to all that effort.

The point is that while the manga and novels don't necessarily add up to the games' continuity, they certainly don't detract anything from it. If anything, they allow some insight, added context with which the viewer could choose to apply to the empty spaces and plot holes left behind in the games' story if they desired. So for me, until the day comes where Nomura and Square Enix decide to delve into all of these mysteries and portray them in the games themselves, I'm going to treat the added events from the manga and novels as canon, head-canon, or even semi-canon, because all they really do for me is add to the overall experience I enjoy with Kingdom Hearts.  <3

What does "Head-canon" mean as opposed to canon and semi-canon?

Head-canon is that you take a story, and then you decide what actually happens, what doesn't, ignore parts of the story which you don't like, and add other things which was never in the story to begin with. In other words, it is complete and utter bullshit.

No. Why would you need a poll? It either is or it isn't, it's not an opinion.

Some things in the manga could be canon that's why because some elements from the game could make it into the manga. Not saying that all 100% of the manga is canon.

Actually, I would have defined it as "fan-theory", which is essentially forming a theory based upon several stated facts and hinted mysteries and possibilities that would allow one to have a general idea as to what might happen until either a more solid theory comes along or until the creator himself states otherwise. Over-simplifying and degrading how some fans make sense of things: THAT's utter bullshit, sir.
