Why wouldn't KH3 come out until after 2015?

Posted

Short and sweet to the point. We knew it officially began development last year, but KH2 began development in 2003 and came out in late 2005. Granted Nomura said last year's announcement was too early but well...it's Nomura. Maybe he preferred to have it announced a year before release instead of 2. We aren't the development teams, we can't say when it can or can't come out (obviously saying it would come out this year is far fetched and highly improbable) Besides we already have the Osaka team working on it and I'm sure 2.5 is done with and is in it's localization stages. Once the main team is finished and the two teams come together, there's no telling how much of the game will actually be done yet. Two teams would cause it to come out quicker, regardless. Aren't PS4 titles supposed to be easier to develop now too or is that a misconception I got from the interwebs after E3?

I'm still thinking a Q4 2015 release for KH3 is possible.

Nomura has already said FINAL FANTASY XV will most likely be released first, and that won't come out until after March 2015. Kingdom Hearts III is still far too early in development. Yes, PlayStation 4 games are easier to develop than PlayStation 3 but developers still need to get to used to the new hardware. And don't compare it to Kingdom Hearts II, the team that developed Kingdom Hearts II has been developing ONE game since 2006.

FFXV seems like a very rare exception that seems video game companies have. I mean look at Duke Nukem Forever and HL Ep 3, granted the latter has just recently gotten a claim that is in development, they seem to hault dev time for the console jump.

As for devs getting used to the new hardware, wouldn't that have happened before the PS4 came out, since it did have titles coming out since launch. Granted I guess you mean specific dev teams. I just feel like the companies would implement some kind of course for them to take for it, not really sure how that works lol.

Haven't you noticed all the games getting delayed lately? That's because they're still getting used to the new hardware.

KH3 could quite easily come out in 2015.

Well that clears it up actually lol

well that's exciting new ls right there :) if FF15 is coming out before KH3 then that could mean a late 2015 release or a early 2016 release :)

Fool. Don't say easily. It's not easy to make a video game.

Even late 2015 would be pushing it. We can expect more news and trailers in 2015, but the game itself probably won't be out until 2016. I'm glad that nobody has used the 13th Anniversary of Kingdom Hearts as a reason it should be released in 2015 though, that would have done nothing to convince me. :P

I still and always will believe it comes out in 2015. I Mean 5 year to make a game? It possible.

Its (one of) my reason te believe it.

And for the love of god.... We have waited 10 years for the next-Numbered Kingdom Hearts. The world is Ready..

But it just started development LAST YEAR! The story is the only thing that has been five years in development, not the game itself. -_-"

Expect a new KH game announced at E3... or Tokyo Game Show.

They started development the game, the same time with Birth By Sleep.

Lack of E3 kinda has me on the side of "atleast 2016" now :P

Well, I guess KH3 will be released within the end of 2015, maybe 13 years after KH2 (A.K.A 22 December 2015)...

There's to many games. We got XV, Type-0 XIII, and possibly another TWEWY.

Kh3 is most likely to release in 2016 .. IMO

also this year is "the year of kingdom hearts 2.5" but im possitive we'll recieve news next year

I actually hope it doesn't come out until at least really late 2015 or even 2016! I want the game to be the best it can be and not be rushed! Because I don't want something incomplete like the Days movies was!

I would call it a miracle if we get to play it in 2017, since I think Kingdom Hearts III will most likely be released around fall 2016

I want to give them all the time they need so I don't care when

2015 seems too early for a release date in my opinion. FFXV will probably come out in 2015 with KH3 taking the spotlight in 2016

Fool. Don't say easily. It's not easy to make a video game.

Especially a video game as complex as this one!
