Why Do They Change The Health Bars In The KH Games

Posted

I've been wondering this for quite a while. Why is it that in the KH NA/EU versions of the KH games they change the enemy health bars. Take 358/2 Days for example. I don't know if anyone has ever known this but in the original Japanese version of Days all the enemies originally had longer health bars. Yet in the English version they shortened them for some weird reason. Why do they feel the need to change the health bars in the English versions of the KH games? Do they think that the enemies would be too hard for us or something? Because I've seen people beat bosses with a lot of health bars and it was no problem for them. Which proves we are capable of the challenge.

Is it possible the Japanese versions of Days videos you saw were Mission Mode, where the enemies have longer health?

Maybe they just compacted the bar to make less clutter on-screen?

It's because us baka gaijins don't know how to viedo game

Those were...longer?

*Shivers*

Yes they were longer. I've seen a Japanese playthrough of Days back when it first came out.

Nope. It was on the story mode.

Fool. Shorter health bars doesn't mean less health. It can purely be for looks. Maybe to take less space on the screen.

As far as I remember, it's because they intended to tweak the health bars but happened to do so when the Japanese version was released already. The english version actually get better upgrades sometimes (this one is not cool anyway, I love challenges)

Maybe to save space on the screen as it IS a Nintendo DS game. Or...umm...I dunno. :/

Unless you mean less ACTUAL health then, ...hacks? *Shrugs*

Just so they could gey people like you to wonder about that

It could be looks

Although sometimes it is changed. I have a Japanese game were that was localized for fans but everything is in romanji and not hiragana despite hiragana being the first thing people learn....

I remember the health bars being hella long already damn

Most health in games are like 110-120 HP when they complete the games, with the exception of BBS critical and 2FM critical.

Wow, really? I didn't know they shortened the bars..... In fact, I thought they were getting longer throughout the series. Some of the DDD health bars had me doing double takes at the screen! -__-

What about the difficulty? I mean, some enemies will always have the same health bar, but take more hits based on the Battle Level, but other enemies, specifically bosses, have more health depending on the difficulty.

I never noticed. Lol.

because we are not as good as japanease gamers

Because Japanese people invented video games practically and are way better at them!

Maybe because its on the DSi, so small screen and yeah...

To make the game playable.
