We're considering these structural changes for the forum. Please vote in the polls above to help me decide whether or not we should go through with these changes.

I'm a big supporter of merging "Introduce Yourself" and "Real Life & Personal" to create "Forum Lounge + Introduce Yourself"

and

To merge "Forum Games" and "Random" to create "Random".

 

But I'd prefer not to put Video Games back into Media. I remember fighting for that forum years ago. Lol.

I really don't have a problem with the "Video Games" and the "Media" merging . Though , I wouldn't like the merging of the "Real Life & Personal" with the "Introduce Yourself"  . Now for the third option , well , I am not a big fan of the "Random" Section anymore and I don't really post in the "Forum Games" section so I guess it would be a good idea to "unify" those two ,in my opinion , at least .

I voted no on every questions because I like how the things they were for the moment...

Video Games needs to stay a separate section. I was annoyed when the Pokemon and Final Fantasy subsections were removed, so getting rid of the Video Games section would be even worse imo.

I'm okay with "Forum Games" and "Random" merging. Seems to me like they go hand in hand quite well. As for "Media" and "Video Games", I voted no. Video Games is a part of the media, but the media is so much more and usually used for news related stuff. I don't really care for the merging of "Introduce Yourself" and "Real Life & Personal" but "Forum Lounge + Introduce Yourself" comes off as a sort of awkward name for it to me.

It better to have 1 active forum than 2 semi-active forums, it makes everything feel more lively which in-turn encourages more activity.

My personal argument for merging Introduce Yourself with Real Life & Personal is because we get a lot of members coming back and posting topics in Introduce Yourself rather than the other forum. Also Introduce Yourself obviously doesn't get many topics.

Personally, I disagree with the merging of intro and personal life because they are merely separate things. Introduce yourself forum is for introduction of new and potentially members who returned to the website, Real life and personal is for posts concerning real life events or personal stuff happening with the person. Secondly, I also disagree with merging Video Games and Media because Video games section is mostly serious discussion on other video games not related to Kingdom Hearts as Media is for discussion related to media such as youtube videos, TV, Music, etc. Finallly, I would go with merging Forum games and Random because they fit together as they go off topic away from the media/video games discussion also making the forum less messy.

Most YouTube videos go in Creative Media or Random.

I think merging Media and Video Games isn't really necessary, as they both generally discuss two separate things, and having a lengthy thread about games right next to one about movies doesn't seem right. Not to mention that the video game section is generally more active, and merging it with the Media section might wind up burying a lot of threads in the latter.

1. No. I think those are fine the way they are, personally. Having a dedicated forum section for introductions makes things a lot easier for people who want to go through and see any new members who are serious about posting and being part of the community.

 

2. Again, no. There are a lot of video game related topics made on a daily basis, and this forum is based on a video game to begin with. Merging it with media would make things far too cluttered. They need to stay separate. The video games forum became cluttered already after Pokemon and Final Fantasy were merged with it.

 

3. No, I think forum games should be kept to their own section. No specific reason, it just feels natural having them separate.

Yes fr everything except video games and media. It would be a clusterfiretruck if it were to happen. Just look at now, a thread here and there being made that was already done by x user a few days ago because rarely anyone looks at any page past 1.

I feel like rather than straight up merging the Introductions board and the Personal board, it'd be better to make the "Introduce Yourself" area a sub-board since they do kind of go hand-in-hand, but at the same time they wouldn't conflict with each other being in the same exact area.Media and Video Games probably shouldn't be merged because, after all, this is a forum dedicated to a video game series. Therefore, video games are a major topic for all of us that should probably be within its own space. Merging it with Media would just make it kind of a clusterfiretruck.I have no opinion on the Random boards, so idk you could just leave it as is.

I think merging forum games with random is a good idea.

I've decided to just implement #1 for now.
