You can't possibly and honestly tell me that this was a good idea.You can't tell me with a straight face that Shinji Hashimoto's trip aaaaaaaaaall from Japan to the event just to announce a port and leave was a good idea

Imagine if Nintendo in that Nintendo direct showed footage of Majora's Mask,fully knowing that people demanded the Majora's Mask remake for years,only for it to be a port of the N64 version for the virtual console.....I would've been even angrier if that happened.

 

 

And even if we put the whole remake thing on the side.WHY GIVE THEM STAGE TIME JUST TO ANNOUNCE NOTHING!!!!They didn't announce a new game,they didn't showcase anything else.Just a port of the PC port of FFVII.......WHY GIVE THEM STAGE TIME JUST FOR AN UPSCALED PS1 VERSION!!!!????This is stupid on so many levels

 

Microsoft did that with Conker with their Project Spark thing in E3 and I wasn't pleased with that either

I can't wait to play the VII port and whatever Toriyama & Kitase have in development.

I haven't played those but from what I've heard (which is also giving me doubt as to whether or not to buy them)is that they look bad because of the resolution.

Im not a FF fan but this is pure disrespect to the fanbase. They took the expression "Give the middle finger" to a whole new level. PS4 level.

Nah. No one complained the last few times they made a port of it, so there's no reason to really complain this time either. I like the fact that they did this because people are reacting in ways that amuse. Seriously...feed me more rants and reactions. No one in the industry honestly cares what the fans think about this. I think what's worse is the fact that everyone expected it to be a remake when SE flat-out stated they'd never remake it until a FF game did better than VII. XV is that game. It's much better than people like to imagine. But instead of that we'll just focus on our nostalgia and the long running development. People act like it's a much easier job than it actually is.

I'm quite a big fan of FF, and I agree it's a bad move to overhype something that barely worth any hype. That said, I understand why they're porting FF7 to PS4, because it's for the same reason FF7 has had multiple installments/spinoffs and a movie: people will buy anything FF7-related regardless.

 

I personally don't care that much, since 7 is one of my least favourite installments of the series.

It's just plain stupid, even for the comany itself to waste time announcing a simple port when it could've been done via YouTube or wherever else SE announces stuff. (FB, Twitter, etc)

 

And I thought Crapcom was stupid, but SE is almost on par with their sheer stupidity. I shouldn't go too hard on them though. Could just be that one guy. Still idiotic regardless.

That's exactly why I'm not quite taking this at face value right now. It just reeks of unprofessionalism. Even the trailer wasn't that good! I mean that music is classic and nostalgic to every fan, but it doesn't fit nearly half of the shots they showed, plus how some of the lines worked (i.e.: Don't let Sephiroth Reach the Promised Land again.) almost feels like a joke. Unless Square's sense of humor really is worse than SEGA of America's (Modern Sonic is now a gofer around the office...), I'm not quite sure if I can believe that this is really all there is. Or maybe it was so bad that I'm just in denial, I don't know. Point is I would LIKE to see if there is something more positive that can come out of this, other than just blindly being happy that I have to pay for something that I already have on my PS3 because the dang thing still won't read backwards compatibility yet.
