Before I start,before I say anything at all.I wanna say something to the people here who's like "Daaaw you shouldn't expect a remake get off you dem high horses deeeeeeeeeerp FFVII fanboys"

 

Look at the audience when they mentioned FFVII....LOOK AT THE firetruckING AUDIENCE!!!!

 

 

And look at them after the trailer is done and over with.

 

You can't possibly and honestly tell me that this was a good idea.You can't tell me with a straight face that Shinji Hashimoto's trip aaaaaaaaaall from Japan to the event just to announce a port and leave was a good idea

 

YOU DON'T DO THAT...YOU.DON'T.DO.THAT!!!

 

Imagine if Nintendo in that Nintendo direct showed footage of Majora's Mask,fully knowing that people demanded the Majora's Mask remake for years,only for it to be a port of the N64 version for the virtual console.....I would've been even angrier if that happened.

 

 

And even if we put the whole remake thing on the side.WHY GIVE THEM STAGE TIME JUST TO ANNOUNCE NOTHING!!!!They didn't announce a new game,they didn't showcase anything else.Just a port of the PC port of FFVII.......WHY GIVE THEM STAGE TIME JUST FOR AN UPSCALED PS1 VERSION!!!!????This is stupid on so many levels

 

Microsoft did that with Conker with their Project Spark thing in E3 and I wasn't pleased with that either

 

 

You can't possibly tell me that Square is oblivious to the outrageous demand for a remake that's been asked for by the fans FOR YEAAAAAARS!

 

Like seriously why the ambiguous wording  for the port announcement Shinji Hashimoto?Just listen to how he hyped it,he didn't even reveal it was a port until the trailer ended.

 

This is obviously a troll move at it's finest.You can't tell me it isn't.They could've announced the damn port with a trailer before the PS Experience event.They could've done just that.

 

If you think I'm deillusional,just look at the dislikes on the uploaded trailer here

 

 

Heck even non-Final Fantasy fans didn't like this move at all.

 

It's not just me or three or four people in our own little world.A LOT OF PEOPLE DIDN'T LIKE THIS MOVE!

 

If you have nothing to announce,just be silent instead of wording your port announcement in the most trollish way possible

 

I mean.....just look at the reactions in Max's video

Square Enix should be firetrucking ashamed of themselves for this.Don't tell me they couldn't announce this with a simple trailer before the event instead of having Shinji Hashimoto traveling all the way from Japan just to say "Hello,Final Fantasy 7 port for za Ps4,See ya"

 

 

I barely have any sort of faith in those assholes heck I won't be surprised if they screwed FFXV,it's not really far from their alley to do this anymore

Hashimoto was already in the U.S for the 2.5 launch event and The Game Awards along with doing a dev panel at PSX. I understand people are upset, but I doubt a lot of these people wanted Toriyama directing a VII remake anyway. And the positive here is that Toriyama & Kitase are making a new game and VII is still coming to PS4 in HD which excites me. I can't wait to play the VII port and whatever Toriyama & Kitase have in development.

I haven't played those but from what I've heard (which is also giving me doubt as to whether or not to buy them)is that they look bad because of the resolution.

Im not a FF fan but this is pure disrespect to the fanbase. They took the expression "Give the middle finger" to a whole new level. PS4 level.

If the game will really be released like that, and I was a fan, hatred would be the only thing that square would receive from me.

Nah. No one complained the last few times they made a port of it, so there's no reason to really complain this time either. I like the fact that they did this because people are reacting in ways that amuse. Seriously...feed me more rants and reactions. No one in the industry honestly cares what the fans think about this. I think what's worse is the fact that everyone expected it to be a remake when SE flat-out stated they'd never remake it until a FF game did better than VII. XV is that game. It's much better than people like to imagine. But instead of that we'll just focus on our nostalgia and the long running development. People act like it's a much easier job than it actually is.

I love the game too and I agree that the announcement was dumb but there's no need to RAGE about it so much. I actually thought it was quite humorous You also said they would screw up FFXV as well because of this. Really? You need to calm down.

I'm quite a big fan of FF, and I agree it's a bad move to overhype something that barely worth any hype. That said, I understand why they're porting FF7 to PS4, because it's for the same reason FF7 has had multiple installments/spinoffs and a movie: people will buy anything FF7-related regardless.

 

I personally don't care that much, since 7 is one of my least favourite installments of the series.

I'm not saying that you should feel good about the announcement. I just find it strange that you are so upset over a minor thing such as this. Maybe if they had promised a huge FF reveal and it turned out to be this then I would understand.

Love the people who miss the main point here.

 

It's just plain stupid, even for the comany itself to waste time announcing a simple port when it could've been done via YouTube or wherever else SE announces stuff. (FB, Twitter, etc)

 

And I thought Crapcom was stupid, but SE is almost on par with their sheer stupidity. I shouldn't go too hard on them though. Could just be that one guy. Still idiotic regardless.

I watched it live on twitch actually and you are talking about it as if the world is ending and that just felt strange to me. I didn't want to start an argument.  But whatever man I guess you are just that passionate about the game.

Isn't there little to no difference between the PC/PS3 ports of FFVII and the PS4 one? You can only upscale PS1 graphics so far, and I honestly don't know how long they can keep doing this without even acknowledging that people are not pleased with this.

 

But because this was such a blatant troll move...I don't believe this was the actual plan. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but what if this move was just to occupy/distract FFVII fans long enough until they are ready to start development/announce a true Final Fantasy VII remake for PS4? It's crazy and it's very likely that it isn't the case, but just think about it and how well that matches up to how much of a jerk move this was. Unless Square really is being a cocky ass troll about this, I am firmly under the impression that there may be a bit more as to what is going on here. Because what better way to grab attention and make up to all of those fans they pissed off than by announcing the ACTUAL title that they had been waiting nearly 20 years for? Just think about that....
