PS4 really needs backwards compatibility

Posted

PS3 had so many great games! It would be utter foolishness not to add backwards compatibility to the PS4! Please do it Sony!

Not gonna happen. Sony is gonna make us rebuy them on PSN. Just like Microsoft did.

I'm sure they might eventually do it, just like Microsoft did so they might announce it later this year or at next years E3 or something

I, personally, would rather have backwards compatibility than remasters of last gen games.

It has never mattered what we want lol what matters is what makes Sony money, and they make money from HD remasters at little to no cost to them.

It would be cool to have it. I don't really want to re-purchase my PS3 games -_-

Even though MS has has it, there's some conditions involved that really restrict it. The games need to be approved by their publishers. :/

Sony has no incentive. It doesn't push units, and people  not only buy remakes of PS2 games for 50 dollars, but get HYPED for them, and even rebuy them despite owning the PS3 version

Which is an extension of what we want. The remasters sell, so they're made

They aren't going to hear you here.

His God can't hear him now.

I'll get hyped for XII HD and Lightning Saga on PS4.

But then they won't be able to remaster games that were released 1 or 2 years ago

It's not like they'll hear me anywhere. I'm one little fan. My opinion alone means nothing to them.

There'd be no point to their Playstation Now service if they added backwards compatibility. :P

There doesn't need to be IMO. I don't want to pay rental prices every time I play an old game.

You don't know the pain of never of playing the REMASTERED KINGDOM HEARTS because you upgraded, how ironic because I upgraded I'm missing out on games,:(

Well I hear ya, but the point is that they have a service that makes them money now. It's kind of illogical for them to be nice and do the free option by not making everyone buy their games twice in order to keep playing them in up to date platforms. Unless there's something that Now can provide that backwards compatibility can't, there would be no point in having both of those around, at least from a company's perspective.
