There's a possibility this could happen as 2.9 has been in development for awhile (from the LinkedIn listing, if true) and seems ready to be announced sometime soon.

Yes. Ever since I heard about this 'secret game' appearing at TGS (which isn't really much of a secret any more) and once I saw the 2.9 leak (real or fake) I connected to dots.

I'm certain. Square Enix would've said something by now if it weren't true. They wouldn't want disappointment to undermine their secret game if it weren't Kingdom Hearts.

It seems fairly likely if 2.9 is real.

Not a chance. It's been all over the internet. They will have heard of this for sure. Given that they haven't responded, it is likely that this is legitimate.

I feel like Square Enix would be the first to know. It's classic SE fashion to put off details as long as possible and then to use a game showcase of some sort to make all of their big announcements. The most recent example being the FF7 remake. If you ask me, 2.9 will be available by the end of the year, with it being announced at Tokyo Game Show

KH3D HD remake is in development since KH 2.5 credits roll. Now what exacly is KH 2.9 we still don't know, but doesn't seem to be just one game.

No, I don't think it (whatever "it" is) will be at TGS, or if it's even a thing at this point.I don't quite understand why people think the secret game has to be KH 2.9, when it could literally be ANYTHING else. If the recent leak didn't happen, no one on this site would have thought the secret was KH related, because everyone would have said that KH3 stuff would be saved for D23 Japan.I will continue to say the same. As cool as the KH3 appearance at D23 California was, imagine that, but like times 100. They have a KH fan event planned, so why wouldn't they save everything they have for that?

Based on the fact that 2.9 appeared as a listing at E3, I would say there is a very good chance it could be.  Not to mention that most Square-Enix Japan developed titles are announced at TGS, so it would be a perfect time for it.  2.9 will have to be something pretty special though if it is worth classifying as "secret" as I don't think any simple Remaster or HD update is worth hyping that much.

IGN actually reached out to SE and they said they don't respond to rumor or speculation.

I am really hoping that 2.9 is a real thing, and I really hope it gets shown at the Tokyo Game Show!  We're so close to TGS starting, so all we have to do is be patient, and when the time comes, Nomura will confirm if 2.9 is real or not!  I really hope it's real though, since Dream Drop Distance is the only installment of the Xehanort Saga that hasn't been on the PS3, and Nomura said he didn't want to leave KH3D left out! D:

If this is real, then that suggests the kh3 news was true too, so why not publically confirm this? Also talking about kh3, with d23 around the corner, this continues to again build up the hype around d23 and what news we'll get.

Turns out it was a genuine title, 2.8 though, but woah, bbs 0.2 looks very interesting
