LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII is the epic conclusion to the FINAL FANTASY XIII trilogy. Directed by Motomu Toriyama, produced by Yoshinori Kitase, written by Daisuke Watanabe with art direction by Isamu Kamikokuryo, game design by Yuji Abe and music by Naoshi Mizuta, Mitsuto Suzuki and Masashi Hamauzu.

It is now available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 & Windows PC.

It also available on PlayStation Now (in select countries) and iOS & Android in Japanese.

We want the FFXIII series on PS4 & Xbox One, so keep telling Square Enix!

I prefer consoles, but hopefully it'll encourage a PS4 HD collection.

It's already in HD. Lol.

the quest stat system isnt that bad. i beat LR and it was actually fun.

Yeah, it was quite fun. I really enjoyed it, even platinumed it.

Lightning Returns takes a bit of investment to get going, but it really is quite a fun little experimental game

Eh I'm already a broken record when it comes to my stance on this game so I'll just say:Read my review to know what I think of it.

That it is. They wanted Ito to design the battle system but he was too busy with XVI but they aimed to make the battle system with more action in mind with XV in mind.

have u ever got all the quests done mostly by day 3 on the hardest mode?

I tryed all these ff13 games . But I just cant play them. maybe because fem lead character, well thankfully FFXV male lead.

considering he platinumed it, I'd take a wild guess and say "yes" :P

its not a trophy. its just hard to do

its not a trophy. its just hard to do

it's something you'd do on the road to said trophy though

like I did, I got every quest except the defeat all monsters quest because I didn't know I had to defeat all the Last Ones on my previous run on the final day

I'm not interested in the XIII games in the slightest, but is your reason for disliking them really a female lead protagonist? That's... Kind of a sad reason, to be honest. A lot of great games have had female lead characters. Final Fantasy VI is a great example of that.

Ummmm I know it might be a matter of taste but this sounds a bit sexist.

There are lots of games with great female lead characters like the Tomb Raider series,Final Fantasy 6,Bayonetta 1&2,Metroid....etc

Exactly

I really love Terra and Celes, two of my favorite female leads in video games if not two of my favorite video game characters of all time ^_^

Time is finite in the world of Lightning Returns and it seems that time has run out for some of the Outerworld features in the game. This is just a quick heads up that unfortunately, the following Facebook functionality will be disabled in April:

  • Posting to your Facebook newsfeed
  • Viewing other players’ Outerworld posts on Facebook
  • The Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Timeline Application
  • Summoning other players’ posts
  • All other Outerworld Services features will not be affected and will continue to work as usual though. So you can continue to take snapshots and post them on Twitter and see other peoples’ Outerworld tweets.

The Siegfried garb, which can be obtained by submitting your battle score after defeating Zaltys in the demo, can be acquired automatically after April 1 by enabling Outerworld services so you won’t lose out on any content.

These changes are most likely due to the upcoming PC port and releases on streaming services, Square Enix's very own Dive In for iOS & Android and PlayStation Now.

I'm glad the Siegfried garb can still be gotten

I hate it when services like these go offline and you just outright LOSE content

So I bought FF13-3 Yesterday and I found out the timer thing that appears when I visit a town and that really bothers me because I prefer exploring the world around me in order to discover items or anything else without worrying about the time.

I also took a side quest thinking that I had all the time in the world to do it and I ended up failing it because I was wandering around all the time.

The quest was the first one you ever get with the inquisitor.

So I want to ask. Do I get a chance to re do the quests or is it considered failed for the rest of the playthrough?

You get a redo once you reach the end of the 13 days... kind of. Sort of. Something like that. The first "Side quest" is very important to continue the main story... so if you fail it, then I don't think you can complete the Tree and save the world. I would consider restarting. And don't worry, you get PLENTY of time to explore later in the game.

I love Lightning Returns.

I love it so far as well but the timer thing annoys me a bit.

Oh okay. Good thing I didn't move too far into the main story. And thanks god you get more time later on. I really like exploring and finding hidden items but I get a bit anxious with a timer on.

You'll get used to it. Once you know how to play the game properly and fully you could love it.

Remember to use chronostasis and time will no longer be a problem for you.

There's always a NG+ if you fail some sidequests.

The game takes some time to get used to, but it's fun. I'm still trying to defeat the boss from the farm.

I did every (or almost) all the side quests when I played it, the timer wasn't that much of an annoyance as it seems at first. If you do a certain amount of side quests, you get an extra day so you'll be able to do so much more exploring. Besides, Side quests will help you explore certain places anyways.

I hope so. I expect that by the first Game Over I'll be able to play it accordingly.

I'll try to use it more often. I was just trying to save EP.

I don't know what boss you are talking about but I tried to defeat a side quest boss dragon (Zomok) and failed miserably.

I have this problem that I can't manage my time. Aparently that problem translates into the game. I literally did ZERO quests on day 2 despite taking on a lot.

I also get distracted easily. I was supposed to do the race quest which I failed because I got distracted by another quest on the way which resulted in me failing that really easy quest.

I platinumed this amazing game!

I hope I manage to do that too.

I knew it. It's FFVII on PS4 that I'm worried about.
