Zelda fans are getting salty because of the doge memes in Tri Force Heroes

Posted

As you may not know, there's stupid translation in american version Tri Force Heroes. Posted Image While the right one seems normal, the left one is however not. Why? Because of the Doge meme. For peole who don't know, it was forced meme that features a Dog that said: "So good. Such amazing." Due to useless transtion in the american version, Zelda are complaing about this all over the internet. (Example: https://mobile.twitter.com/PI20XY/status/658866548900241408 ) NoA really needs to stop this stupid stuff. Especally on Miiverse.

I did not get the meme since Im from AU...is it supposed to be usage of the terms "So X, Such Y"??

Is usage of the meme a good thing or a bad thing?

Mostly a bad thing now, since its overused. Here's more detail about the meme: http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/doge

This is just a little unnecessary detail. Are Zelda fans always like that?

Yes. Zelda fans are always like that... Always... I hate their living guts.

Doge is unfunny and so is everyone trying to perpetuate it.

I thought they stop doing this type of shit a while back on FB. Their memes were so bad that some didn't make sense.

At least the Smash Bros. official page does a better job, and they're more like reference than actual memes.

Maybe they think british ppl need smarter sounding text and murica is all about the memes :V

I don't know who Doge is,but even if this is the worst meme ever I don't see why people would complain about this, its so insignificant and it can easily be ignored.

I don't see why this is a big deal. It's just a slightly different translation

I'm from the PAL region so I never had this in my game. If it was in my game I honestly wouldn't care. Does it matter? If you don't like it then just ignore it. Let the translation teams have their fun. It's a small piece of text you are only going to read once or twice at most.

Hmm, wow, people don't know doge? I thought it was super well known due to its popularity. Here's an example of a doge meme:

I've personally always liked doge. Not so much because I think its funny, but because I think the dog is cute.

Anyway, I actually like it when localizations add reference and stuff. Not like they completely changed the meaning of what was being said, just put it a more entertaining way.

Pokemon X/Y were loaded with memes, and I never saw anyone whine about those. When Tri Force Heroes throws one tiny meme reference in the dialogue of a random NPC, it's suddenly a big deal and people supposedly need to get fired over it. This really isn't worth getting pissy over.

I honestly wouldn't even know this was a doge reference unless someone pointed it out.

But it's not really a big deal. Let the Treehouse translators have some fun!

What a bunch of nitpicking babies. This is why I hate being a part of the Zelda community. My favorite series ever is filled with this garbage nitpicking.
