Will Master Yensid be making an appearance as his younger self in KH3?

And do you think he will stop sitting down in his chair and finally show his keyblade and armour and fights along side Sora and Riku and the others as the final battle is approaching near? Fighting is old comrade and brethren as keyblade wielders along side with Eraques in Terra's heart?

What does everyone think about this?

I think he won't. He already stated that he is only a watcher. He stand between dark and light and prepare things so that everything will be kept balance. Such as evil light or evil darkness. His role is only as a watcher

Considering how Eraqus spoke about him it sounded like they trained together or that he at least knew him before his retirement so it would be cool to see him in the beginning.

Yup if they show how Young Eraqus and Xehanort be like then Yen Sid should be there too.

He maybe old but he still got his gumption to fight. I can imagine the dialog Sora Donald and Goofy: Master Yen Sid your here in the battle field?! Yen Sid: I maybe a retired keyblade Master but I still have enough power to help with you all in battle. Let us stop Xehanort once and for all!!!!! (Takes off his cloak) activates his armour then summons his keyblade. Now Sora Riku Kairi and everyone lets finish this battle for good. EveryoneSora: smiles and says Yeah!!! Ready for one last rumble guys? And everyone nods Prepare for battle!!!!

Don't get me wrong , I'd LOVE to see Yen Sid fight the Darkness with his armor on and his Keyblade at hand . But I don't think we're gonna see that . What we might see from Yen Sid is huge magic spells that will help Sora and his friends .

Old age didn't stop Xehanort from curb-stomping the BBS trio.

I doubt Yen Sid will start fighting, why change him now? To be honest, I think the most he could do is show up in a scene trying to stop the heartless from stopping Sora or something like that.

You made a valid point there. But in Kingdom Hearts he was a pupil along side with Eraqus and Xehanort.

Well actually that IS his role. To counter everything that seems bizarre. He is the watcher of the incident. That's all. It doesn't mean he is on the light side. He said it himself that he sided with the good only to counter the evil

I didn't mean Yen Sid specifically,I meant every good guy in the KH series in general

 

Anyone who even remotely has displayed a bit of darkness is always casted either as a bad guy or as a failure 

 

Instead of helping Terra maintain control over has dark powers,Eraqus immediately discriminated him and his solution for stopping Xehanort from getting the X-Blade was so extreme even Terra couldn't stand it

 

Eraqus is kinda like the Law faction in most Shin Megami Tensei game where he's so obsessed with the light to the point he sees it as the only way to live

 

Sora seems to do such things especially in KH2 where he continiously mocks the nobodies about how they don't exist and that mindset won't change until DDD where he learned that they also have hearts(dem retcons....magical)

 

Wouldn't be interesting from both story and gameplay perspective if in KH3 Sora uses both the power of Light AND Darkness?Especially if he obtained said Darkness due to Xehanort's influence on him since he was supposed to be the 13th vessel

 

I'm tired of seeing the same shtick with Riku monologuing endlessly about the darkness in each and every game which wouldn't change until DDD.........why not have someone else that can use dark spells and powers too?I know there is Terra but we still haven't rescued the firetrucker yet

Square doesn't like creating visibly younger or older versions of Disney characters, so no, we won't see Young Yen Sid. And like everyone else said, he's just an observer. I do think he'll have a more prominent role than he has so far though *coughyoungxehaortanderaqusmastercough*

Clearly I have a very different view of Yen Sid's relationship with Xehanort and Eraqus, but it makes more sense to me.

I don't think so, the Disney Keyblade characters don't seem like they would fit well with armor. Maybe Yen Sid could show off some magic and stuff, but I doubt he will have to do that much, he's kind of a gatekeeper as far as his role goes, training those who would be better able to stop the forces of evil.

Just because darkness isn't necessarily evil, doesn't mean it's something to mess around with (and it's much more likely to draw evil users due to its inherently dangerous nature). It took Riku nearly two years to come to terms with his issues regarding the dark, and most simply don't want to take that risk.

 

Also, it's a Disney game, of course the standard light-good/dark-bad dichotomy is going to be dominant.
