-Helios - Castle Courtyard about to get dragged away - Aura, Aurion, Gel, Henry, and Prince Jynn-

Helios frowned. "I understand...but I cannot allow your world to simply die, Henry. I promise to you everything that you guys have sacrificed will not be in vain." Helios said, determined as he looked up at Henry. "(There is more to this. There has to be.)" He was convinced. But what could one Fey do? He could try, but succession was practically impossible. All he could do is try, and hope this encounter could possibly sway the thoughts of the Queen, if that was even possible. "(But until then...I must regain my worth of the pardon.)" Helios thought. Oh and he would prove himself. He was sure of it. He quickly smiled as he turned back to look at Melstrom. "The carriage is specifically designed to allow ease of travel if pulled by a pegasus. Not only that, Melstrom is easily one of the biggest pegasus I've ever seen. With the winds at your favor, he should have no problem taking you all back." Helios assured, smiling at Mel once more. He was still awestruck of him. He felt a tap on his shoulder, turning around to see a young maid standing behind him. "Heh?" Helios blinked, the young maid simply staring at him. "I've been tasked to bring you inside for a bath and a change of clothes." She said. Helios paused. "Ah...I don't stink that bad do I-" Helios then paused, not wanting to finish the question to get an answer. He looked over at group. "It seems I have to get going." Helios said, feeling the maid tug on on his arm. "You guys be careful now...may the gods guide you safely." Helios said smiling, feeling a tug once more. "I'm coming I'm coming!" Helios whined, being dragged away back into the castle by the very determined maid.

He was taken to a large tub, thrown into it as they made sure to scrub every speck of his skin. Dried up blood, dirt, sweat, everything washed off in a much needed bath. They even went ahead as to look after his scars and old injuries. After a bath he was dried up and settled down to get his scars and injuries looked at. Most of them had already scarred from long ago, the servants simply phasing over them before moving onto the next one. With any fresh ones they removed the dead skin and added some medicine to increase the growth of new cells and scar properly. His clothing was quickly gotten rid of. Helios would not be surprised if it was thrown into an incinerator straight up. He had to admit, he felt fantastic after it. They then left him in the room with a wardrobe of spare clothes to change into. He went ahead and dressed in a high-neck sleeveless under shirt with matching under pants with stirrups. Over that he wore an open collar shirt with short sleeves, black, white and gray with yellow and blue accents. On his legs light armored boots that rose up above his knees. Blue and black gloves reaching all the way up below his elbow. He barely recognized himself in the mirror, taking a deep breath. Heck, his own mom wouldn't be able to recognize him. "New chapter, I guess." He hummed, looking down at his gloves. At least they covered up the scars on his wrists. He heard pecking, looking over as he hurried to the window. He opened it up, a few birds already lining up. "Hey there." Helios cooed, seeing as one of them brought up a couple of feathers to him. They were a bright yellow, almost to the point of golden. "They're perfect." Helios said, gently setting the feathers behind his ear. The final piece. "Thank you." He said, smiling. Birds were some of the kindest creatures out there, if you could understand what they needed. He stopped, looking at the birds. "So? How do I look?" He asked. They chirped. Helios nodded. "Thank you!" He gave thumbs up. "Now lets see if the Queen needs something. Otherwise...I might look at the library." Helios smiled. The birds chirped again. Helios frowned slightly. "Talking to birds isn't weird!" He said, shaking his head. "I'm leaving. Shoo shoo." He said, waving them off as he closed the window up. He then proceeded to head out.

-Arthur - Raiden's Villa - Breakfast with Curvis and Soren-

Arthur watched as Soren left to speak with the young man with red hair. "Well there he goes." Arthur said, having finished eating. He had eaten his full. He would of eaten more, but it was as much as his body could take. He only wished he could take all this food back with him. He glanced at Curvis and smiled. "Maybe you should go ahead and have a conversation with miss Raleigh." He said in a mischievous matter. He reached out, taking one of the colorful flowers in one of the vases, handing it to Curvis. "You can give her this flower and say how no flower from this world or below could compare to her beauty." He teased, smiling the whole time. He rested against his chair. "I wonder what Visco is doing right now."

-Morana - Wendigo's Deal - Rufus, Mikhail, Typhon, Aqua, Jari and Elia

Morana didn't express much emotion as she watched the fey did whatever the spell required, golden symbols appearing on her skin and disappeared. It seemed that it had worked, as the Fey took the bone, bid her farewell and disappeared all together, leaving her and the corpse behind. Morana looked down at her hands, smelling herself momentarily. "I can hang around people again." She hummed, a small smile appearing on her lips. This was a dream come true to her. She backed out of the alleyway, leaving as she merged along the endless crowds of the city. At least the fey took away the dead body. The effects were noticed right away, at least to her. People didn't walk away from her anymore. They didn't gag or follow her with a glare as she walked. The death scent was gone. She hurried back to the royal grounds, where luckily the group hadn't gone too far, allowing her to return to them and slip right in with them. "I told you I wouldn't take long." Morana hummed, however her face had the slightest of smiles instead of being in its usual stoic state. "I'm guessing Elia didn't leave us with the key?"

- Sifrei Mond - Royal training grounds of Sondon Castle -

Sifrei kept watching Pracia, something about her felt odd, but he knew that she wasn't going to stop, unless she was completely destroyed. He also noticed the other two, and apparently they were squabbling. In any case, Sifrei chose to leave them be.

"Is that so? Then maybe the rulers of the north do a more decent job than those of other kingdoms. Sincerity is answered with sincerity. That is our way," Sifrei said to Pracia in a calm tone, "I think we both know were this leads, right? I do not follow your rules as you do not follow ours, but you're still trying to commit murder, and that is something no one will overlook, not even if you are following orders from above."

The Archangel slowly stands up, still on his spear, and looks down at the Punisher.

"We do not wish another senseless war between us and them, the last one left both sides wounded, and thanks to late King Alexander, this world is perishing," The Archangel said, " Your actions will have repercussions here and above, so, I will smite you before I let you bring more suffering to everyone."

Sifrei then saw how the Punisher's leg began to freeze, the distraction worked, but she was now trying to attack. It was in less than a second, but Sifrei flapped his wings making a strong gust of wind, sending dust into Pracia's face, and managed to do a backflip, grab his spear, and pull it out of the ground. The claws of the Punisher almost making contact with his arms and spear. Once on the ground Sifrei dashed backwards, not taking his eyes away from the Punisher.

"That was close, but not fast enough," Sifrei said, "Dodge this."

The Archangel focused on his enemy and threw his spear towards the Punisher in an attempt to pierce her heart, the spear catching on fire the moment it left Sifrei's hand. The Punisher was stuck with one leg frozen, and probably blinded with all that dust, thanks to Sifrei's wings.

~Aqua: Stalking Yev Went after Yevgeni~

Aqua startled and stumbled back slightly. She hadn't expected his response such a forthcoming response. She righted herself up and opened her mouth to speak. "I need to speak with you. I do hope I'm not taking to much of your rather important time. However, I don't think I'll receive such a chance to speak you again in the near future. I'll be honest and frank with you I'm in of your assistance. I haven't had the most formal education with magic or otherwise." Aqua trailed off for a few moments.

" Well, maybe that was saying too much." She bit her lip and muttered something along the lines of an apology.

(Sorry for the short post.)

- Lord Raiden, within his study and about to converse with King Alderon -

Raiden smiled at the information presented to him, fully in agreement that the astral projection spell would be of great assistance.  Answers could be obtained without travel time, and there was no risk of danger except in the room where the caster was.  Cast a strong protection spell and govern your security well and you will be untouched in every way.  What a prized ability it could be if he could learn it, as well as this rune she mentioned if he could obtain that too.  Time, while not on his side right now, was not an issue later on, as years to train his skills were ephemeral to him.

"Understandable, Hisie.  I will call you that from now on, and will trust in your abilities to keep yourself and myself unknown throughout this," he voiced before she left, feeling quite at ease with the situation.

A wave of spent energy struck him as the cone of silence was broken from the opened door, only felt by the people who resided within.  Other than that, a great weight had been lifted off his chest, figuring that she was on his side.  The North seemingly had the same goals as he did.  However, while these goals appeared as they used to be, he still had to be cautious, and Raiden mentally prepared some backup plans should she or her rulers not have been reliable or honest.

Knocks on the door cut off his thoughts, and he sent out a swift search magic spell to detect who it was.  A scowl crossed his features when he realised that Alderon and Midnea were at the door.  Alderon was fine and dandy, but Midnea?  He had to make preparations for her.

"Just a minute!" he called out, zipping across the way to snag a few of his loose books and set them rightly in their places in his expansive library.  When all was done, he cleared his throat, brushed back his hair in a combing motion, and stepped over to the door, prying it wide open.  "Alderon! I was expecting you.  I am assuming you are wishing to speak with me regarding the subject discussed in the hall.  Pull up a chair by the fireplace, or stand if you would like.  We have much to discuss, you and I, though I am curious as to why you brought your advisor instead of your guardian like I proposed."

This is a blessing and a curse, thought Raiden as he analysed the situation.  This bides time for Rabiyu to perform her actions with whatever that discussed rune was, but I have to deal with Midnea's chirping in the king's ear.  If only I can pry the two apart so I can discuss matters more privately.

- Jari Coriander, outside the castle gates of Kilkes Seres -

Jari jumped at Morana's return, not quite expecting her voice to turn up so quickly or for her to come around without that death cloud hovering near his very sensitive nose and wrinkling it.  In fact, she did not seem to have even a scent of death on her, which baffled him incredibly as he blinked at the young fey girl.  Did she wash up?  Is that what she went off to do?  A light bulb went off in his head, and the thought of a bath very appealing to the foxchild.  His tail was all matted and needed a nice tidy-up, plus his worn feet required a reprieve from all of the walking that the party performed.

"We're waiting on the queen once she's done with her concourse," he stated toward the wendigo, half-surprised that he knew that word to begin with.  He picked up a few words from his elders.  "It'll take an hour, but in the meantime how about we go to a bathhouse and refresh ourselves?" he asked with a hint of jubilation in his voice, enticed by the thought of soaking his sore muscles in warm water.  "The gang's all here, and we might as well enjoy ourselves in the provided hour.  Don't worry, Elia.  The prince will be okay for a moment longer, and while he's always heading somewhere he'll stay put in the capital for at least an hour, right?"

Jynn Venas-Kilkes Seres

Henry warns Jynn and Helios about going against Shiva's wishes. Jynn just laughs and swings his arms behind his head. "You'd be surprised how open I am with her. I know she won't harm me." Jynn opens the door to the carriage and urges everyone to board.

Just then, Henry's attitude changes, claiming that heading out is worthless. Jynn is confused by Henry's sudden personality change. "I'm......... sorry?" The augmented human tries to cover up his previous act, claiming to have a migraine. Odd. Henry then asks if Mel could carry everyone, suggesting if he should make trips. "No, he can carry everyone." But then an idea came to him. Jynn rests a hand on Mel's neck. Should he stay and interrogate Shiva? She lied to him all these years, it would only make sense to have a word with her. He makes up his mind and stays. He then goes up to Mel and whispers to the horse. "I want you to take them without me." Mel reluctantly obeys. Jynn turns to the humans. "Change of plans. I'm going to stay. Mel will safely take you to my home. Best of luck to you." Jynn turns and faces the castle. Mother, you have a lot of explaining to do.......

Dawson-Flowering Hyssop

Dawson agreed with Alicia's thoughts. "Yea, no fey can take on those two trouble makers." Alicia goes on about how a Deviljho can turn savage when enraged. Dawson chimes in. "I believe it is also when they are short on food. Deviljhos do need to constantly eat after all." Alicia then asks about Doom Hounds. Dawson pauses. "Yeah. They are." He didn't want to tell Alicia of his failure to properly take down that Doom Hound he fought this morning.

It was soon turning to noon, and Dawson needs to head to Milos. He pays for his drinks and gets down from the seat. He turns to Alicia. "Well it was nice talking to you. Hopefully our paths will cross again." Dawson leaves the bar and arrives to the mule drawn carriage. "Lets get going."

(Sorry if I speeded things up. Needed to get these two ready for the time skip.)

-Eclaire, Xion, and Takao, the office of Shiva-

Eclaire held her mother quietly, then pulled away. "I'm sorry mother. But I couldn't risk the peace...but why are you here? Shouldn't you be at Mare Luxuria?"

She paused...then extended her hand, and it erupted. "I was infected."

"SISSY!"

Takao stomped her foot. "Let's not burden the Queen explaining the Virus." She turned and bowed. "Hello Queen Shiva. I am Priestess Etain of the Temple of Light. Just...call me Takao though, it's my given name. I come to inform you of a terrible danger my Goddess has warned me of. A great sadness approaches. She feels darkness, but can only know that. She sent me to warn you...though I guess she'd know my niece would be here..."

--Yevgeni Malachite -- En route to Mystras--

"Hmm, yes, my time is rather valuable to me, and you are depriving me of it," Yev drawled, giving the nervous girl a sideways glance as he brushed down the cuff of his sleeve.  "But, that isn't to say that you're taking up too much of it.  I do wonder, though, why you have a keen interest in seeking my aid when you very well know the disdain your dear friend holds for me.  Is it resentment?  Rebellion?"

He drew a few steps toward Aqua, lifting her chin with a gloved hand so that their gazes met.  His emerald eyes traced the lines of Aqua's face intently, as though searching for something, before finally uttering lowly:  "You certainly have the capacity to wield very powerful magic.  I can sense it about you.  So much raw energy and so much potential, just locked away and unable to be used.

"I could make a very fine mage out of you, though I don't suppose you would take particular pleasure in training under me.  I am critical and condescending, not to mention no one likes me.  You won't like me, either, assuming that you don't dislike me already."  Yet something nagged in the edge of his tone, some emotion that managed to betray him despite his wishes.  Was it sorrow, regret, empathy?  As quickly as he'd expressed it, however, he released her chin and turned away, his emerald cloak's edges brushing Aqua's arm playfully in the wind.

"I'm returning to Mystras to deliver a message for the queen," Yevgeni explained without glancing her way.  "I'm sure that I will encounter at least some bothersome foe along the way, if not Raiden himself.  If you promise not to talk as much as your friend I will not protest if you follow me.  Maybe you can tell me about your magical schooling, or under which elven clan you were brought up?"

Upon his words he left the outskirts of the city, most likely with Aqua in tow.  Despite his words, he was rather gladdened to have a traveling companion for once.

--King Alderon -- Raiden's Villa--

The lord of Mystras greeted them, apparently alone.  This surprised Alderon some, as he'd thought that he heard other voices accompanying him within the room, though it was quite possible that the sounds carried from the dining hall.  Everything worked so differently in this world.

"Greetings, Raiden, my friend," Alderon said warmly, accepting the invitation into the private study surrounded by books of varying sorts.  He was prepared to proffer a brief explanation on his choice for bringing Midnea over Draksis, but was unable to voice it as the woman spoke out for him.  A frown furrowed his brow at the mention of “Draksis” and “Relic,” predominately because he valued Draksis and the company he kept.  Now was not the time nor place to bring it up, however.

"And yes, I have brought my advisor because she proffers a solution that may be in both of our best interests," Alderon agreed in consent to Midnea’s statement, albeit a bit more lighthearted.

The smile that he offered Midnea was wide, placing a hand gently along the small of her back as he guided her into the room.  "Milady, perhaps you could share your thoughts with our Lord Raiden here?"

Naively, and perhaps foolishly, Alderon didn't detect the tension shared between Raiden and Midnea, nor did he foresee the disaster that he likely brought upon himself by bringing the two together.

--Elia Cabret – Kilkis Seres –

The bathhouse?  This wasn’t too terrible of an idea suggested by the young kitsune.  She turned her hopeful gaze onto the guard, whose expression remained shielded behind the steel of his helm.

“Well?  What do you think?” she asked, clasping her hands behind her back as she swayed on the spot in a rather childlike manner.

The two guards turned to face one another, as if they could read one another’s expression underneath their helmets.  Finally one of them offered the party a nod.

“Very well, I shall escort you to the castle,” he relented.  “But the queen isn’t to be interrupted until she is finished with her current audience and has given her permission to see you.  Is that understood?”

“Oh, yes, yes, of course!” Elia exclaimed, perhaps too enthusiastically.

The guard extended his arm, and with this sudden movement the silver gates behind him began to move.  He must’ve had either some kind of telekinesis ability, Elia gathered.  He then proceeded to lead them into the castle itself.

The foyer was rather massive, with a flooring that appeared to be a thick layer of ice.  Along the walls were paintings of various sorts, from renowned artists all across the Overworld, many having fallen during the Great War and their arts having been since forgotten.  Above their heads was a large dome of painted glass, raising at least five stories high.  Even though Elia had visited the palace numerous times in her lifetime, she still felt awed by its splendor.

“Well, I can show you all where we can get cleaned up,” Elia responded, turning around to face her friends.  “Unless you would care to explore?”

--Queen Shiva – Kilkis Seres: Private Study—

With her granddaughter still underneath her arm, Shiva shifted to glance over at Eclaire’s relatives, her gaze shifting between the raven-haired woman—presumptuously Eclaire’s mother—to the other.

“Virus?”  Her brows furrowed, concern lining her face as she brought her hazel eyes up to meet Eclaire.  Was she ill?  Was there something that she should’ve known, that perhaps Eclaire had tried to tell her but she was too clueless to listen?  It wouldn’t have been the first time.  It seemed that Takao didn’t wish to dwell on the details, which irritated Queen Shiva even more.  She tried not to let it show as she responded, regaining her cool composure once more.

“It is a pleasure to meet you, Takao.  Thank you for traveling all of this way to provide a warning.”  She hesitated, considering Bherna within her grasp.  Should she really be hearing what she was about to say?  No child could be a child in the Overworld, however, and if trouble were to break out, it would do well for her to at least know the basics.  She sighed, releasing her granddaughter and taking a few steps toward the open window.  The air was warm as it kissed her pale, frigid cheeks.

“This darkness you speak of . . . .  Does it pertain to the humans venturing our land?  If so, I am afraid that I am aware of their presence, and have sent my ambassador to request their leave.

“I do fear, though, that it will not be as simple as that.  Their leader is about as strong-headed as I am, and won’t give up until he sees the results he desires.  Should a situation get out of hand, and we do have to pick up weapons once more, would Mare Luxuria consider providing its aid?”

She couldn’t continue to hide the possibility that things between herself and Raiden may not end peacefully.  Her resolve was strong, as was his, and she could only hope that he would be the less stubborn of the two and see things her way.  If not . . . well, she knew what would happen next.

--Ren Mordecai – Raiden’s Villa: Breakfast Table—

The redhead froze as he heard the familiar voice of the sentinel behind him.  Ah, how he recalled days that he longed for the voice, to hear it utter tales and adventures that he desired to partake in.  Or just to hear another voice in general.  During his imprisonment Soren had been his only friend, but, of course, his duty was to guard Isopolis beyond all else.  How could their friendship change matters?

It couldn’t, Ren told himself bitterly, considering what he should do now that Soren had made his move.  Finally he turned to face Soren slowly, masking his expression into one that was hopefully unreadable.

“Of course you may, Soren.  It’s . . . been a while, my old friend.”

He rose from his seat and gestured to the main hall.  If Soren were to try anything funny, Mystran soldiers could easily interfere.  There was also, of course, the fact that he no longer was under the compromised state that Shiva held him in for years.  While his magic was most certainly rusty, it wasn’t abolished by any means.

Once they were out of earshot of the others Ren brought his dark gaze up to meet Soren’s, and it was then that Soren likely were able to read his true expression: joy, longing, and also fear.

“What are you doing here?” he asked, voice low.  And then, the most dreaded question of all: “Have you come by order of the Queen to collect me?”

--Curvis Sourati – Raiden’s Villa: Dining Hall—

The brunet scoffed at Arthur’s suggestion, crossing his arms and sinking into his seat.  Did he seem that desperate?  Had his affection for Raleigh really shone so bright?  She was just another colleague, and while he did have a particularly fancy for her, well, he didn’t really enjoy everyone bringing it to the spotlight.

“It’s fine, I don’t need to give her anything like that.”  Curvis waved a hand dismissively, as though hoping that this entire conversation would blow over.  And yet, he couldn’t hide his resentment toward Raleigh for disregarding him so, or the defeat in his gaze at rejection.  Eventually Curvis rose, resting a hand on the hilt of his sword.

“Say, I noticed that Lord Raiden has quite the extensive amount of uninterrupted courtyard,” he stated, offering his friend a slight smile.  “Would you be up for some fencing practice?  I know we just ate, so I understand if you’re not up for it right now.”

Because at that particular moment Curvis felt like swinging at something, and potentially getting the pent up feeling of tension out of his system.

Neena - The Zealot - Raiden's Villa; Under Guise of Alayne

Neena tired of this breakfast. She tired of all of it. This was exhausting. Not the pretending, not the serving labor, none of that. That was easy. She just felt like she was doing nothing. It was driving her insane. She breathed a heavy sigh, though she masked it by looking down for a brief moment. She returned to the kitchens and returned her serving platter and pitcher. And she slipped into a shadow and disappeared.

She came into existence once more outside the door of Lord Raiden. A shadowy corner and quiet attitude. She briefly waved her hand to cast a protective spell, against more magical means of finding her. On the off chance she was caught, she was still Alayne, and might be able to pull off her disguise. Worst case scenario, she caused a massive scene, assassinated a person or two, and vanished into shadow once more. It wouldn't be optimal, but it would cause chaos. For now though, she listened, to that disgusting human king and Raiden.

Gel - The Farmer - Kilkes Seres; The Courtyard

Gel looked to Henry, who after laughing with him, it wasn't meant to be a joke but all the better it was taken as one, didn't really matter in the long run, after laughing with him took a turn into Headache-Town, complaining of migraines. "I can take care of that." Gel offered, reaching a hand out hesitantly. It glowed with an aura of light as Gel spread some healing into Henry. Gel certainly didn't want Henry suffering from headaches after all, the guy was kind of a powerhouse, they needed him to be at his full potential in case something went wrong. Also, Gel was hesitant to call anyone this for it seemed things went shitty for himself and for those close to him, but well, things were already shitty for all of them, but Gel thought Henry a friend, and didn't want him suffering from a migraine. Gel glanced to the Twins as whoever their escort was supposed to be, Gel was unsure exactly, turned away from them. He gestured towards the pegasus. "So are we actually going to get on that? And I mean, I know I'm not excited by the premise of flying again.

Cerberos - The Mercenaries - Forsaken (i think this was the name) Tomb

They stared into the cave face, Ryonne holding a glowing orb. It would allow them to not die, at least, not die from like the very pressures of evil or some shit.

"So... We're not doing this right? This was a joke." The cave was intimidating. There was a draft, and more importantly, just an intense feeling of dread cast over all of them.

"We do still have a job to do! Quite the idea I say, not going in there."

"There we go Swanson! Glad you're seeing sense. Now then let's just... Ryonne? Dammit all Ryonne do not..." Viridem's voice washed over Ryonne, but he ignored it, surging forward anyway. Into the cave. Ryonne needed to be stronger. This cave promised one thing, other than death to the unprepared, and that was strength. Viridem and Swanson bickered and called for him to return for a moment longer before they followed. Together they were more effective. And of course, for more emotional reasons they couldn't let him go alone. So they plunged into darkness.

~Aqua: Following Yev for real this time ~
Aqua felt a blush of embarrassment dust her cheeks. Luckily the older Elf either didn't notice or care. Either way, she was glad. It would have been too awkward to explain why she had blushed aloud. In truth, Aqua wasn't used to being touched by anyone and aside from her parents when she was young or a surprise hug from Elia she had never felt the touch of another. Well, aside from accidents like bumping into another person. Before she had time to reply he had started off toward his destination. She quickly followed after him. "If it helps, what I'm doing has nothing to do with Elia. She's only been my friend for around a month and I don't know the history with you both." She trailed for a few seconds before she said anything else.

"Whatever it was that happened is of no importance to me. " She added toward her previous statement.

She gave a breathy sigh. She gave no sign of having anything else to say. After all, she didn't know how to explain about her clan or about her life. "It's....all very confusing. My parents abandoned me as a child. I never had any magical schooling. I honestly don't remember much about my home or village. I bet I sound like a pity party, don't I?" She gripped her staff tightly.

She took a few deep breaths. She couldn't break down. She couldn't cry. Not now. She had to take care of herself. No, even more than that she would die if she didn't get stronger. Learning to control her magic wasn't the only area she needed to grow in. She had to remind herself that she wasn't weak. She had gotten by worst scrapes. That she could become stronger. She needed to get her mind off of negative thoughts.  She knew she couldn't afford to have doubts or second guess herself. She'd need to buy herself something sweet once she had the change and besides it would be a good chance to restock on supplies.

- Rabiyu - Raiden's Dining room -
The atmosphere was rather calm to say the least. Feys and humans talking among each other, something that Rabiyu found curious. Apparently, last time that humans were in the Overworld they caused a lot of troubles, but now? it looked like that never happened.
"Strange," Rabiyu thought while eating the last of her food, "One would think that this was always the case, and the war never happened."
Then she felt it, one of the runes she made outside Lord Raiden's study was calling for her attention. She closed her eyes and focused, her vision changing to that outside the study. There she saw one of the maids quickly casting a spell and staying quietly among the shadows. Perhaps one who wanted nothing more than a little gossip? She would have to wait and see. She kept focused on her work while drinking a cup of warm tea without disturbing anyone.

- Aeternum Siblings - Courtyard of Kilkis Seres -
Aura looked at Gel and smiled akwardly
"You and mo both, friend," she said, her voice shaking a little, "You and me both."
Aurion watched as the Prince whent away, wondering what he was planning to do.
"That was strange," he said, "He was supposed to...Oh well, never mind."
The older Aeternum looked among his companions and sister.
"So, uh," he said, "should we board, or should we wait to see if the Prince returns?"

-Helios - Castle Hall - Up the stairs of the Hall-

He had only been in the castle a few times before, and most of the time it was sneaking into the grounds while using his shape shifting abilities, mostly to bother Ren when he had a break here and there. No one would pay attention to a bird. But Ren always knew when it was him, which was simply hilarious to him. The library was the one place all three of them sought in common. Ren was a scholar, Ariana studied, and he would read over the Bestiaries and maps. The memories brought a big smile on his face, but also began to form a small pain of nostalgia at the pit of his stomach. "(Time's passed pretty fast, hasn't it?)" Helios thought. He could hear familiar voices down the hall, the Queen and Eclaire, among voice he did not recognize. Guests most likely, he figured. He softly walked, his feet barely making any sound against the marble flooring as he reached the stairs of the grand hall. There the Queen and Eclaire received...angels? "(Angels? Could it be about the humans?)" Helios thought. It had to be. Every person of power would have felt the disturbance of Isopolis, including the ruler of the clouds above clouds. In a small puff of smoke he transformed into a white hummingbird, quietly making his way to a spot near to Eclaire, before transforming back into his Fey self to stand by her, simply giving the angels a soft bow of the head, keeping quiet.

-Arthur - Raiden's Villa - Breakfast with Curvis-

Arthur would have squealed if he didn't had much of self control. He practically leaped from his seat. "Are you kidding? Now you're talking my language. I haven't spared weeks before even coming along in this trip." He admitted, smiling as he quickly turned and pushed his chair back in, before turning back to Curvis. Of course, it was not a good thing to wish upon war, or the chance to use a sword...but sparring was essential if he was going to keep his skills tuned, and one thing that Arthur enjoyed with much nostalgia and eagerness. "Let us?" Arthur asked, smiling as he gave a small bow to a nearby servant, before hurrying out the nearest door to the courtyard. It was beautiful, the leaves green and filled with life, even outshining those of the royal castle grounds (though he would never admit it outloud!). It was a nice day too, and with a stomach full, Arthur was more than happy to practice to settle it all down. He reached out to his belt, carefully pulling the sword from its sheath. After such a long while, he had almost forgotten how it looked like. But that was the beauty of it, in a way, he insisted.

--Everyth Castanova -- Sondon Courtyards--

Everyth offered Visco a bittersweet smile, relieved that the princess would accept shelter and that she didn't have to drag her back kicking and screaming.  It seemed a little curious to her that Visco didn't want her companionship, but she didn't think all that much of it.

Until she saw her on the battlefield once more.

An exasperated sigh escaped the raven-haired woman.  There seemed to be no way to assure the princess' safety.  The king certainly had bestowed the rather difficult assignment upon her royal bodyguards.  On the opposite side of the battlefield she saw the intricacies of battle between the strange man who had rescued her and Visco, along with the demon lady who was bent on killing them all.

A part of her felt terribly guilty to abandon their savior, but now was not the time for her to grow a conscience.  She trekked over to where Effie was and grabbed the young woman's wrist.  "Effie, we need to leave!  Forget about her," she exclaimed, "her" being the punisher that threatened their lives numerous times that day.  "Visco will not leave without you, and our top priority is to get her to safety."  She released Effie's wrist and took a step back.  Over the course of the battle Everyth appeared as though she'd aged five years, her cheeks considerably hollower than they had been at the start.

"Please," she repeated, violet eyes imploring.

--Yevgeni Malachite -- en route to Mystras with Aqua--

The sun was high in the sky as the two elves ventured deeper into the wooded area between Mystras and Kilkis Seres.  A trail did exist to guide them, but it wasn't heavily traversed, thus making it barely visible.  Many branches and bushes impeded their path.  Yev held a branch away for Aqua so that she could pass safely without it snapping back in her face.

"Be wary of those branches with thorns," he muttered lowly.  "They contain a toxin in this part of the wood.  It isn't enough to kill, unless you are pricked perhaps twenty times, but it would be enough to break you out in hives and have you sick for the entire duration of the trip, and that would be no fun at all."

As they walked he thought more about Aqua's response, though hadn't voiced anything on the matter until perhaps an hour had lapsed.

"I never would've guessed that you and Elia aren't best friends, what with the way she pals around with you and drags you off by the arm," Yevgeni said, breaking the prolonged silence between them.  "I'm also surprised that she never shared our history.  It goes way back, and I'm sure the version of the story changes depending on whom you speak to."

He didn't proffer his version of the story, though, or much else at all until the finally reached a clearing.  A clean stream ran over white rocks on one side, the sound of the water trickling being among the only sounds to break the silence, paired with birds chirping overhead.  Yev withdrew a flask from his pack and knelt by the stream, refilling it with the cool water the splashed and cascaded down the rocks.

"Do you have any supplies with you?" he asked her, partly doubting it.  It didn't seem that she had that much time to prepare, after all.

--Curvis Sourati -- Raiden's Courtyard--

The air smelled crisp and cool as they stepped outside the villa and into the outdoors.  Curvis withdrew a deep breath.

But of course, he had forgotten his sword up in his rooms.  It didn't even dawn on him until he noticed Arthur unsheath his.  He smacked his palm against his forehead.  "Ah, sorry, but I forgot my sword.  It will be only just a moment as I go to retrieve it?"

The rustling of armor caused Curvis to turn around.  A few Mystran soldiers were conversing outside the gate, spears in their hands as their swords shifted at their waists.  It was then that an idea crossed his mind.

"Wait here," he told his friend, before darting up to the fey and asking if he could borrow one of their swords.  They made funny faces and seemed particularly hesitant to comply with Curvis' request, but before long the young man returned, grinning, brandishing his new bronze sword at his hip.

"Okay, then, Arthur, let's see how far you've come.  It's been quite some time since I've challenged you, after all."

Curvis swung, and their duel began.

- Lord Raiden, conversing with Alderon and Midnea in the study of Raiden's villa -

Raiden smirked with mirth, pleased that he managed to irritate the female spellcaster.  If he could keep his cool while disrupting hers, it was only a matter of time before she would overextend herself anew and further weaken herself.  If the news of doom hounds was correct, it was most probably due to her influence.  The timing was just too perfect, even if fundamentally flawed.

Oh, Midnea, guardians know more than war, thought the lord as he meditated on her words. They know how to protect in peace, project in antebellum, and direct in war's aftermath.  Moreover, they know the spirit of all and make the best discerning judges as long as they keep their heads in check.  You underestimate their abilities and overestimate yours, and that will lead to your downfall if I or Alastor himself sics Alastor at you.

"If the lady advisor has a more providing idea, I would be all ears," he uttered, quiescently playing with the signet ring on his finger.  "Please, share with us your thoughts, though I could imagine where your thoughts lie on the matter."

Indeed, I could imagine, he further speculated, glancing between the two.  Alderon, you are far too trusting of this viper.  I know not what fuels your ambition, but she is assuredly steering you down a path only she can escape with her life.  If I had not the insight of two thousands years, I would spare you from her with her demise, but I want your trust and your aid to secure a great peace.  To do that, she must live long enough to show you I am right and just, and then you can see her for what she truly is:  an insidious spitter of venom.

-Arthur - Raiden's Villa - Sparring with Curvis-

Arthur stepped into form, looking much more professional than his personality let on. One harm behind his back as the other held his sword pointed at Curvis. The nearby guards looked at each other and then back at the scene in amusement as they began to spar. As Curvis dashed forward, Arthur brought his sword up at the last minute, blocking the blade's tip from going any further. He pushed Curvis' sword away as he began to slam his sword against it over and over again, taking a step forward per hit. He had been training to become a knight for years, and had worked to perfect his skill. He was nowhere near perfect, but he could hold his own, he thought. "Sparring in a brand new world, I couldn't even picture this in my wildest dreams, you know." Arthur chuckled. His face remained with the same bright smile as he pulled his sword back and twisted his body, kicking at Curvis' legs before bringing his sword right after, using the spin to build up power to the swing.

-- Soren Monroe, Loyalty Well and Truly Shaken -- Raiden's Villa: Breakfast Table --

Seemingly delighted, Soren closely followed Ren to the Main Hall, guarded, like everywhere else, by Mystran Soldiers, but seemingly more tightly protected by these keen eared men and women. Being closer to Ren than when he introduced himself, Soren could feel his power as if it were a physical presence...someone had lifted his curse, undone the suppression he was forced under in order to be imprisoned in the first place.

Ren's state was further solidified in Soren's mind when he met his gaze, his emotions on full display, a man not quite sure if he should be overjoyed, or fearful to see the Sentinel who once acted as his Prison Warden. It was then he spoke, questioning Soren on why he was here and if Queen Shiva had sent the Sentinel to reclaim his prisoner.

In a moment of despondency, Soren considered the ramifications of deciding to take Ren back into incarceration: A Fey, with the Spirit and Might of a Dragon, recognized as a traitor for the simple crime of curiosity, has just been given a new lease in life by potentially Raiden and now here he was, face-to-face with the Demonic Fey who kept watch over him for the many years he was kept in a cell, his power subdued and suppressed, his life absolutely over from that point on, without a hope of release or pity...

...at least, until Soren was assigned as one of his more, permanent Wardens. He took pity on Ren Mordecai, "The Reckless Wind-drake" as some called him. He felt sympathy for a Fey who simply wanted to explore the World Below, to see its wonders, to meet its populous and to experience the mortal way with two others. But in the end, only one came home, with Helios and Ariana left behind to the Human's devices. And Ren's reception? To be thrown in a jail cell to rot for such an aspiration, for simply wanting to adventure. It was why Soren recounted his own adventures and tales to the Wind-drake, so he could at least feel the thrill by proxy, to feel something akin to happiness in his eternal punishment.

There has been much bad blood between the Overworld and the World Below, but in Soren's mind, Ren Mordecai did not have to be a victim of its fallout.

Returning to reality and taking a deep breath, his expression the entire time had been one of musing and sorrow, Soren placed a hand upon Ren's right shoulder and spoke.

"Ren...first of all I would like to make one thing very clear: I am not here on the Queen's Behalf nor am I following her orders to capture you. As far as I know, she doesn't know you're free. As a matter of fact...I don't know where my loyalties lie right now." Soren reassured Ren, then admitted to his own struggles with whom to side with.

"Lord Raiden, he, sent an infiltrator to Isopolis, in order to claim the Forbidden Shrine. As it was my duty to protect it, I had to fight him and I did, for a long time as he was very powerful...but, then he let it slip that he was working for the Lord of Mystras. I jumped at the opportunity as soon as I had it, knowing of Raiden's intent. And yet, recent events have lead me to believe that my decision was...erroneous, at best. I don't know what I personally am going to go from here...but..." Soren hesitated for a moment, needing to recompose himself.

"...I would never forgive myself if I took you back to that cage." He declared with a clear air of finality, possibly the first thing he's been certain about since he left Isopolis. "It is potentially my fault you're here, so in a sense, you are my responsibility. However I believe I should act on it a different way than Shiva would expect. So, I must say, you've cleaned up nicely." Soren uttered with a genuine smile, patting Ren on the shoulder.

- The Izanami Family, with Shiva-

Takao paused. "I deeply apologize, Queen. But my Goddess is not omniscient. She has a foreshadowing clairvoyance she can focus and draw upon, but it promises nothing but warning. If it is the humans, then my warning comes late. But my fear is...that the darkness is yet to come."

That's when Xion bonked her. "I apologize to break up the doom and gloom...but Takao was dismissive of the Virus. Which brings me to the answer regarding the City of Lust. Mare Luxuria is no longer under my rule. I was deposed as regent of the Succubi a bit after Eclaire left."

"What?" Eclaire moved forward, grabbing Xion's unbandaged arm. "What happened?"

"..." she held out her arm. The bandages were rended as her arm became blackish purple, a claw. "Consumption." Her arm returned to normal, as she leaned against the wall, crossing her arms. "The Archangel King, My'chael, unleashed the Virus we call Consumption. I was on my last leg. The people distrusted me after falling in love with a Valkyrie, the Queen at that. They cried against me after I gave birth to Eclaire. Then I was infected, and thrown out." She sighed. "It is noncontagious...to you. To those of the demonic races, it is a blight. Takao and Eclaire enjoy the protection of a God and a Valkyric Queen, magic and blood that defends against the vilest of curses. So no. If war comes, I doubt to any of the Four Demon Cities will rise to help. But..." she paused. "Queen Shiva, there may be some help we can procure...not...much. Maybe. It all depends on whether or not that bastard can pull it off."

--Shiva -- Kilkis Seres--

"You fell in love with a valkyric queen," Shiva repeated, not in question but rather to hear the words again, in disbelief.  Was the situation between herself and Eclaire similar?  Surely it couldn't be, could it?  Was history repeating itself again?  Many questions filtered through the queen's mind, making her slightly dizzy, though she tried to remain firmly on the topic, casting aside all thoughts of Eclaire temporarily until she could have more time to think.

"This darkness sounds grave indeed, especially if it isn't the arrival of the humans," she responded, releasing Bherna and clasping her hands in front of her.  "If my sources provide accurate information, I understand that another evil has been brought with the humans as well, one that was banished from the Overworld many, many years ago.  Her return bodes ill for us all, and, if left unchecked, I fear could be disastrous.  What's worse is that this evil is aiding the humans, and who knows what kind of havoc could be wreaked.

"If another darkness, well, it would be no surprise, I suppose.  The worlds are filled with it, no matter how much we may safeguard ourselves against it.  Thank you for delivering this message to me, and it is good to know that we cannot rely on Mare Luxuria or any of the Four Demon cities for aid.  It has been over two-thousand years since Kilkis Seres has been in need of any ally, though I fear that our reign of peace may end soon, and we may have to join forces with other members of the Overworld again to eradicate the threat.  But, time will tell.  I do not wish to be too preemptive until the threat is upon us."

She drew in a breath, brushing silky blue strands of hair behind her eat before continuing.  "Also, I know Lord Raiden, and I am not ready to lose faith in him entirely just yet.  It may not be now, but eventually I think he will see our side to things, and he may eventually prove to be the worthy ally after all."

Perhaps it was merely wishful thinking on her part, but Shiva hoped and prayed with all of her heart that it were true.

--Ren Mordecai -- Raiden's Villa: Mystras--

Relief flooded through every ounce of his body as the sentinel spoke.  So friendship won over duty after all.  Finally, a pure-hearted soul, one that Ren could rely on and trust.  A smile stretched his lips as he clasped his friend's hand on his shoulder.

"Soren, my friend, you have done well.  You have seen through the queen's lies and deception to see what she truly is, and what she aspires to do.  She is corrupt and must be stopped, before it is too late and billions of lives perish in the world below."

He gave pause, considering Soren's predicament and uncertainty of where his loyalties lie.  He rubbed his chin thoughtfully.  "For me, the choice is simple: Lord Raiden wants peace and prosperity, and desires to stop the queen.  That aligns with my own beliefs, and while I am hesitant that he's joining forces with King Alderon and the humans to do it, I do not believe that they are wholly evil.  Before I came back, back to Kilkis Seres, I intermingled with the humans.  I befriended them, lived among them, and joined in on their festivities.  Humanity is . . . different from us fey, but there is still much good in them.  Even King Alderon, as corrupt as his notions may be, is not wholly evil.  I believe that, with the proper guidance and aid, that we can indeed unify our worlds and develop a peaceful nation together.  Perhaps develop unified laws that keep our powers in check, of course, but . . . what I'm trying to say is that I see a balance that must be maintained.  Nothing is black and white, like the queen thinks it is.

"The choice is yours, of course, though it would bring me great joy if we were to coincide under the same banner together, serving for justice and peace for future generations to come.  I am curious, though, why Lord Raiden has caused you to sway in your decision.  Is it the fact that the humans are here and present, or something else?"

From everything Ren had seen he was eagerly sold on serving Raiden and no other, though he hadn't considered the possibility that there was more to the man than what met the eye, or another part of him that didn't wish quite so well for both worlds.

--Curvis Sourati -- Raiden's villa: courtyard--

Curvis had seen the blow moments too late; he fell backward as Arthur tripped him, though wasted no time in scrambling back up, sword pointed in Arthur's direction to deflect any of his attacks .  Ah, it felt great to be moving again.  To feel the wind kiss his face, the sun dance on his skin, and his heart to pound hard in his chest as he brought in rasps of air between parries.

"You know, you're better than I thought," said Curvis playfully, shaking wisps of dark-brown hair from his face.  He circled Arthur for a moment, sizing him up.  He seemed well guarded and on high alert; sneaking an attack in was nigh impossible, plus he didn't want to go all-out and accidentally end up hurting him.  They were fighting with real swords, after all.

At Arthur's side he decided to seize his opportunity, cutting at him from an angle with a blow that would've hit his chestplate, should he have managed to land it successfully.  Before he could continue, however, he was halted when he heard a familiar female voice echo throughout the battlefield.

"Is it . . . Midnea?" Curvis asked aloud, confused.  He paused, straining his ears to hear her again, but instead other voices could be heard, one most recognizable being one that belonged to their king.

"Arthur, do you hear that?" Curvis sounded excited in his whisper, jerking his head in the direction of the villa.  "It sounds like the king and Lord Raiden are negotiating!  Perhaps we'll be able to stay!"  He glanced at the many windows of the villa, wondering which one held their voices.  "It must be coming from one of the rooms."

(Timeskip is coming.  I was hoping to conclude the conversation between Yev and Raiden, along with Alderon, Midnea, and Raiden, but those may have to come in the form of flashbacks, as I don't wish to keep everyone waiting any longer).

-Arthur - Raiden's Villa - Sparring & EavesdroppingTM with Curvis-

Arthur was about to attempt to counter Curvis' attack. However, Curvis stopped, and brought attention to the sound of talking coming from one of the nearby rooms of the many in the villa. Arthur smiled as Curvis said that it sounded like Midnea and the King, that maybe they were negotiating so they could stay longer! Arthur would be more than happy with the idea. He sheathed his sword, gently walking towards one of the walls, kneeling down against it. He looked...ridiculous as he crawled back and forth along the wall, listening closely, until he found a spot in between the bushes where he could hear the voices as loud and clear as possible with so many things in between. He knew better than to Eavesdrop, but it technically wasn't eavesdropping. He was just...along the wall while hearing a conversation!...he would most likely bullsh*t his way out of this one. He waved at Curvis, signaling him over in case he wanted to 'listen along the wall' with him.

-The Succubi Three, with Shiva and the other people-

"Yeah. I have this thing where I fall in love with clumsy buxom blondes." She didn't have a hint of shame. "Then I had a kid with pink hair and this hero complex." She gave Eclaire a pointed look at that one. "And I'm just glad she's with someone who accepts and cares for her. That will feed the Valkyrie within, and keep at bay the hunger that a succubi brings forth. Speaking of - I probably should look for a bordello." She paused. "Before I go do me, I will say this. Afraid of being preemptive can be detrimental. I can...oh hell.Excuse me." She stepped to the window and opened it. "OI. NONCARING DEVIL MAY CARE SON OF A BITCH. I KNOW YOU'RE THERE!"

Takao laughed at that, as Xion stepped back, crossing her arms. "But I probably can promise some allies. You see, escaping the Capital of Lust was the easy part. Trying to escape the Overworld when the Four Demon Cities are mad at you and angels want to see you dead? That is where this son of a bitch comes in." She jerked a thumb over to the window, as a boy with white wings landed on the sill. "Queen Shiva, meet the Daedalus of the Icarians. Jeremy of Hunter, Regent and cofounder of the Order of Lux. The guy who smuggled Takao and I out of the Overworld and across the sea." She turned. "You really need to not spy."

"I couldn't hear you at that altitude, until you yelled." He retorted.

"Anyways." She turned back to Shiva. "I understand you do not wish to overstep and cause the very darkness you wish to avoid to transpire, but one must be ready for the worst. Jeremy's race, the Icarus, understands the worst. They are cursed to fail in anything they put their minds to. The amount of deaths while merely cooking...was impressively saddening. Jeremy, meanwhile, puts his mind to utterly failing at everything he tries." She laughed. "He uses a curse against itself, which I find utterly hilarious."

"Sister, you're getting off track." Takao pipped up. Xion sighed. "Right. Sorry. Queen Shiva, I understand Kilkis Seres needs to be cautious but ready. I came to warn but at the same time I came to see about change. Jeremy here has the ear of the Regent of Mare Luxerion, Shar'eena, and the Prince and Princesses of the other Angel Kingdoms. At the very least, for the woman who took in my daughter - I can offer this."

Eclaire was quiet. Her mother had just put Jeremy and herself in great danger, for Shiva...for the Kingdom.

You selfless fool, Mother. Putting everyone above yourself. Even your selfishness with Zion did not change you much... But Eclaire felt her heart swell with pride. But that is what makes you....mother.

Jeremy yawned. "Sorry to drop in, Queen Shiva, but I tend to obey women yelling at me. Two sisters and all." She slid off the sill and gave a polite boy. "Also, speaking of darkness - scouts of the Order spotted a dragon leaving the Isopolis region. Maybe that is connected to your darkness. Maybe not. One of my friends has gone to check up and see what is going on." He straightened. "I believe that's all I have to share."

-Helios - Castle Hall - Succibi Three, Shiva & Helios-

Helios remained quiet for all of the conversation, simply listening and waiting. That is, until they spoke of the sighting of a dragon around Isopolis Shrine. Everything in his body just screamed, sending red flags all over as his eyes widened. Dragon. Isopolis. Dragon. Isopolis. Dragon. Ren. Helios dashed straight up to Jeremy, getting up to her face, not noticing that he had pretty much taken away the personal space part of it. "Excuse me, did you say dragon?" Helios asked, holding his hands anxiously. "You...you wouldn't happen to know the color of it, would you? Was it red by any chance?" Helios asked. He noticed his intrusion, and quickly jumped back. "Forgive me, it's just, well, Dragons are...so very rare...I was wondering if you happened to know the color of it..." Helios spoke, his voice almost a whisper as to keep himself from cracking up. "(Because the remaining pure ones belong to the grand clan.)" Helios thought. He never met with the clan personally. Ren was as far as he had gotten. They were powerful, ancient, and highly respected...and only one person of such clan could have possibly been at Isopolis.

- Sifrei Mond - Royal training grounds of Sondon Castle -

"Do I?" Sifrei asked Pracia, "I rather not, our justice is not the same."
The Archangel kept looking as the Punisher's claws began to spark, getting faster and faster with each second.
"Now what?" Sifrei thought, "What is she tryign to-"
In a sudden movement Pracia released a lots of green beams from her claws. Sifrei was trying to dodge all of them, and he was succeeding.
"Darn it, this isn't looking good," he muttered as he noticed how some of the beams managed to hit people around, "I need to be careful."
It took some time, but after a couple of seconds one beam managed to hit Sifrei right in his chest. He fell to one knee and stopped moving. There was no sound, no smell and everything was black, a complete void around Sifrei.
"So that's what this is all about," he thought as he tried to withstand the pain while making small groans, "I can see what happened to those two girls now. This is very, very uncomfortable, and it will make it slightly harder to fight."
Sifrei touched his chest and a faint white light glowed for a split second, it was going to take a few minutes to take effect, he was going to rely on other methods, mainly that he was able to feel the arcane energy coming from the Punisher, and the other girls, something that all fey had and was hard to hide. In the meantime he was going to wait and play the part, the Punisher was certain that whatever her attack had done to him was going to give her the advantage, that was going to be one of the last mistakes.
