Given that Lightning is possibly Square Enix's most promoted female lead character , might she appear in KH3 or future titles? And if So what roles do you envision she might have?

 

If she appears in KH3, she might fit really well near the end of the game with her long winded speeches and deep seated belief in "I don't care about prophecies, we make our own miracles!" kind of thinking. By inspiring Sora, she might really end up going against the Book of prophecies and turning the ending into "light prevail and darkness expire" rather than the reverse as prophesized.

 

But given that previous Enix characters have played minor to medium roles at best in previous titles - she'll be lucky if she even ends up included in the game as the tutorial explanation character

Here is summary on my opinion on Lightning being in future KH games

No thanks, If a non-original character is the one that inspires any of the original characters concerning the ending, that'd be lame... Especially if it's Lightning imo.

She will fighting on Odin together with Sora with the Titans .

Or she wants to fight Young Xehanort because he broke the laws of time travel lol.

I think if she shows up by herself it will be the real lightning traveling from her world like she did in the FFXIV event and not some alternate KH version of her.

if Lightning appeared and had an extreme impact on the outcome of the story then that would come off as some really bad fanfiction level writing. i mean SE is already pushing the character however they can and that would just be going too far, imo. 

 

i don't mind her making an appearance though. more FF is always nice. let's just keep the involvement in the story to a minimum. maybe another KH2 Hollow Bastion situation, where the FF characters get their own little subplot world? of course that worked so well because it was a continuation of their Hollow Bastion story in KH1 so idk what they could do for KH3.

Let's be honest: if she appeared, it would be on the Mary Sue level of giving just the right advice the characters need, lecturing them on their world views, and overpowering whatever enemies you are facing with extreme ease. Because Square's waifu can only take over a game, not add to it.

As much as I loathe Lightning, I have already accepted the reality that she'll be in KH3, cause Square loves her so much.  However, she had better not have a giant role in the game, because it'll be very telling about their bias towards her.  It'll be extremely unfair too, since the other SE characters don't really have important roles in KH, and I'm just afraid that they'll give her a massive role.

I love Lightning so I have no problem with her incursion, so long as they are faithful to Lightning's original characterization. What I'd really just like to see is Final Fantasy centric worlds in general in the Kingdom Hearts series. Not worlds like Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden or Traverse Town or anything which were just original worlds with Final Fantasy characters thrown in, but ones based on actual Final Fantasy games.
