The May 10, 2012 issue of Famitsu Weekly magazine has included an on article on Kingdom Hearts, containing an interview with the director of the series, Tetsuya Nomura. Here, Nomura discusses both Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] and a future, currently unannounced title in the Kingdom Hearts series. He also confirms a North American demo for Kingdom Hearts 3D!

— Speaking of the previous titles, about when do you start thinking of the ‘next title’?

Nomura: It’s a gradual process. When Kingdom Hearts was in production, I was considering ideas for Kingdom Hearts II and Chain of Memories. And when those two were in production, I was thinking of ideas for the next three, 358/2 Days, Coded, and Birth by Sleep.

— Were you thinking of KH3D when those 3 titles were in production?

Nomura: KH3D was put together relatively quickly, I was still concepting the story when I brought it to the table.

— What about in the secret movie of Birth by Sleep Final Mix…?

Nomura: Well… (Laughs.) Now that you mention it, that secret movie was referred to as “A fragmentary passage”, meaning bits and pieces of something whole. A story connected to Kingdom Hearts exists out of that, but I don’t know whether or not it’ll be told hereafter.

— The secret message and secret movie of KH3D were loaded with things to wonder about. Is it finally time for KH3?

Nomura: I’ll leave that up to everyone’s imagination. Though, it might be a curve ball. (Laughs.)

— Lastly, a message for our readers.

Nomura: We’ve decided to distribute a KH3D demo in North America as well as Japan. You can play part of Sora’s scenario in Traverse Town. So if your friends haven’t played it yet, you can recommend it to them. And of course, give the co-op mini game Flick Rush a try. Also, an unannounced title is being prepared as well, though it’s something lighter. There are still songs continuing to be distributed for Theartrhythm Final Fantasy so you can look forward to that as well.

Yaaaay a demo for NA(despite not living in NA but I use the NA eshop)

also......I don't know why Nomura still insists that sora is a normal boy while many things in the series say a big no...........

I mean tell me someone else that houses soooo many hearts while terra's body couldn't take anymore after becoming terranort........freakin Sora has 3 HEARTS in KH1(his own,Ventus and Kairi) and let's not forget about Roxas Xion Terra Aqua who are connected to him.

Is Nomura trying to hide something............because with every game I playwatch in the series..........I begin to doubt Sora's humanity at this point.......unless there is a logical explanation to this other than saying he is a normal boy

    dude.....I wouldn't be surprised if he made Sora's very existence connected to the keyblade war at that point loool........y'know what....I've made my own fanfiction for the series ......mmm I don't know if I'm going to post it here soon since my final exams starts next week

    yeah.....actually I think that was already revealed during the game but we didn't have proper transitation for every cutscene

    but believe me.........everyone is gonna forget this interview like usual..............after all a troll became a canon LoL

    Well my point was , i was saying this and some people refused to believe it even after seeing it themselves.They wanted more proof

    I really want KH3, I'm not saying I don't like the unnumbered titles, but in all honesty I want KH3 fast. Maybe a game like BBsv2 for PSP (Not vita, I'm not buying another handheld) and then a little while after release KH3. But I really want KH3 :(

     

    Without the un-numbered titles, there would be hardly any justification for KH3. It'll come soemtime after FFVSXIII is out, so the handheld titles don't really take time away from it.

    Yay, Nomura laughs in this interview. I was kinda worried after he didn't in the past couple.

     

    Also, we'll probably get the demo a week after the game comes out, just like the Japanese, so don't get your hopes up. :P #joykiller

    True, enough with kid Sora leveling up all over again. CoM, Coded and DDD are half of the games and used that same thing.

    Ok this is what I think.

     

    First when Nomura means "curve-ball"/"fastball" I think he means something that we would not expect (DUH) we already know this and what would be more unexpected than KH3 I think we all remember that he said production for KH3 wouldn't happen until Versus XIII was finished. Story wise I think we are there because (SPOILERS STOP READING IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS FOR 3D) Xehanort and his other Co-Norts (see what I did there :P) are ready so that takes care of the XIII Darkness-es and the VII Lights are almost ready because so far we have Riku, Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Lea, Aqua, Ven, and I don't know about Terra since his fight with Xehanort he's gone MIA. (END OF SPOILERS) Plus look at the secret message for 3D and if you look in the credit you can see where Sora and Riku are about to go into the light that it forms a III. Another possibility is a Final Mix Collection and maybe he's somehow going to get the other games like BBS, re:C, 358/2, and maybe even 3D into HD somehow.

     

    Really I think we are just going to have to wait till E3 I think Nomura being the troll he is, is hiding something KH related and it won't be announced until then so cross your fingers.

    Haha I did the same exact thing xD now I'm going to be super paranoid and check the eShop every like 3 hours.

    The difference is, Xehanort wanted to take control of Terra's body, while Kairi and Ventus never conflicted with Sora. The only thing Kairi's heart did on Sora was making him see illusions, which is the source Naminé's ability of maipulating his memories.

     

    I think the point is, if there's no conflict, you can easily hold a billion hearts in your body with the faintest consequences. Terra never suffered anything from having Eraqus's heart in him, so that's another evidence pointing to this.

    I just cant wait!! We don't even have Kh3d in our hands yet though... Man I loved the kinda last bits of Kh3d though!! I have always wanted something like that to happen. I wish for some reason it could go on a little longer. I started re-writing it with my own ideas! :lol:

     

    But as I said before, I am still considering the 'Lightweight' to be connected to Kh3d's ending.

    I really doubt they would leave EU and AUS out in getting the AR cards. That'd be a really supid move on Square's part. Just wait, I bet ya they'll announce them soon. xD

    I think Kingdom Hearts is being re released because of the secret message in KH3D. I don't think there's going to be a BBS2 because I can't imagine with who we would play with and what story there would be... Also Nomura could give more clear answers, and he always says it will be revealed soon but it's usually not.
