Not surprised. I always thought it would be difficult to sell a project like that to people outside diehard fans. It's dissapointing, but I hope we will get KH4 news soon

I'm disappointed for sure, but definitely not surprised. I'd been wondering for a while if Missing-Link was even still in development, and had a feeling they would be pulling the plug. Hopefully we'll get to see the game's story in some kind of format, though.

Woke up to the news and now I’m devastated. My day is ruined.

That's really disappointing, but I hope they find some other way of giving us the story that was going to be in the game. Like a Back Cover-style movie maybe.

I really, really hope they do this. 😭

As an OG Kingdom Hearts fan I'll say this is definitely for the best. Plus, it was a HUGE mistake trying to make this game on the Mobile Game in first place. Nomura and this development team should've know that Missing-Link on the phone was never going to work. Missing-Link should've been on the console in the first place just like Final Fantasy 14 Reborn. I'm honestly not sad about this at all. After the incredibly slow and weak progress of Unchained X and Union Cross I consider this good news, in my opinion.

Yeah a Back Cover style movie is our best chance now, assuming they try to salvage the story from the game.

Either that or maybe they canceled Missing Link, to make a side story mainline game using the ML story?

Smart of them to do this. I feel like this game would've been a colossal failure financially. Hopefully the content mined from the beta build is released now that the game has officially been canned.

I do hope they do something with whatever story they were planning to include in this. The story had been the best part of the games taking place in eras past. Would be a shame if it never sees the light of day.

I'm saddened by this but hardly not surprised. The lack of news of Missing Link for 3 years straight, getting delayed 3 times, along with Square Enix being mum about its development cycle.

I honestly think it was for the best since Kingdom Hearts IV has already enough story and characters so It honestly didn't need more unexplained lore and new characters to make the series feel bloated, because lets be honest, Missing Link was going to bleed into KHIV the way the mobile games (X/Union X) did for Kingdom Hearts III, and possibly overshadow what was already built up like it did in KH3. Hopefully Nomura and Square learn their lesson from this cause while I don't mind new KH games before the numbered titles, I just don't want Nomura to be overly ambitious to have new KH games and lore relegated on a mobile device that involve gacha and GPS navigation which will alienate existing and newcomers to the KH franchise

That's possible too. I doubt they'll just throw away the story completely, especially as it promised to answer every unanswered question we had!
