New information from Ruliweb interview with Tetsuya Nomura: Maps from previous numbered Kingdom Hearts games will NOT appear in Kingdom Hearts III

In a previous article, we reported that Tetsuya Nomura, director of the Kingdom Hearts series, was interviewed by Ruliweb and claimed that there were no plans to release Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX on the PlayStation 4. However, as we and others further investigated this interview, one paragraph stuck out. Using Google Translate, rumors were spread about worlds like Pride Lands and Halloween Town not returning in Kingdom Hearts III. However, thanks to Jess from Tumblr and Amber from Tumblr, we have translated a section of the interview that will clear things up:

Nomura: Any map used in the first two [numbered] Kingdom Hearts games will not appear in Kingdom Hearts III.

To clarify, Nomura states that maps used in the previous games will not return. This does not rule out movies that we have seen before, as evidenced by the return of the Hercules world seen in the

. We have never ventured in the areas around Mount Olympus, but we have been in the Coliseum, a "Town Near Thebes", and the Underworld from the Hercules movie. While it is likely that Halloween Town and other such worlds from movies featured in previous games will not return, simply because of the lack of new maps/areas, it does not rule them out completely.

With this new information, which new areas from worlds we have visited in the series would you like to see in Kingdom Hearts III? Let us know in the comments!

Kinda glad but also disappointed. I'm glad they're making it completely new, but some old maps would have been nice. Such as Radiant Garden or Traverse Town at least.

Maybe he only means Disney related worlds. If not, this is good news for Radiant Garden, as it may show up nearly fully repaired (and maybe fully repaired at later visits).

Did we actually see any map from KH1 that made it into KH2? I don't remember any except the Olympus Coliseum one. Not even Atlantica was the same.

I would love to see traverse town returning in KH3. I think it will be cool.

For anyone saying that Halloween Town is not coming back in KH3, look at this: Posted Image These are the other doors in Halloween Town. They can show us these worlds in KH3.

I don't think the fans would care too much to visit Thanksgiving Town or St. Patrick's Town.

I would still find it hard to believe that we would go to Olympus Coliseum without actually going into the Coliseum. But there is always the chance that they could change the map of the Entrance, Lobby/Vestibule, and Arena. MGS4 did it with Shadow Moses, so I don't see why certain maps that are kind of important, such as the Coliseum itself, couldn't just be majorly edited to fit this standard. Twilight Town clearly still has it's Market Street: Tram Commons area, although they may just be referring to DIsney worlds when it comes to this change. But I'm pretty certain we'll see at least some familiar rooms, but that they won't make up the majority of each world map. And hey, I'd love to see the same old rooms get redesigned and revamped from the ground up if that's what it would take to get them in there. It appeals to the nostalgia value while still adding in new secrets and surprises that you never would have expected (again, ala Shadow Moses MGS4).

Who says the coliseum is no longer there?

To be honest, Pride Lands still has a change. The only location we need from Lion King 1 is pride rock, the rest is all different in Lion King 2. And let's not forget the version we got from savanna/pride rock in KH2 was the one from Scar's reign. #PrideLandsHype

Please let this mean Aladdin and the King of Thieves is the Agrabah map. Please.

Yes, please!. I disliked Agrabah in KH1 but if they could expand on what they did in KHII then by all means gimme more Agrabah. Plus, who doesn't want more Genie?

My thoughts lie here.

I didn't realise this thread was made so I made a new one about this, oops.

Anyways, just as I stated in the video, take everything with a grain of salt. We can still see the same area, but it'll look different. For example if we see the Colliseum in KH3 it will look different to how it did in KH1, thus they aren't just making the same areas with new graphics but instead bringing new looks to old areas so even the older worlds will feel fresh. How satisfying. This doesn't rule out any original worlds just Disney ones. xD

I'd like to see Pride Lands, Port Royal, Radiant Garden, Twilight Town, Traverse Town, Olympus Coliseum, Never Land, Halloween Town, Agrabah, Beast's Castle, Atlantica, City Des La Cloches, The Grid, The Scrapped Jungle Book World, The Land of Departure, & the Keyblade Graveyard.
