i don't know if this would comfort you but native americans in canada have been fighting the canadian government for a place our history books. historians usually present them as victims incapable of fighting or savages. because there have been aboriginal and métis men [i don't know about women unfortunately ):] who did contribute a lot to the foundation of canada even after all the assimilation that the europeans did to their culture.
