  1. Ehhh yeah sorry! Hope you're able to enjoy other parts of our site though!
  2. Welcome to KH13 hope you enjoy it here! The RP community on our site isn't as large as it used to be, so it may be a bit difficult to find fellow RPer's. Also want to note that KH13 is a PG-13 site, so unfortunately we can't have 18+ RPs.
  3. I don't own either of them, and not super familiar with the other system, so it wouldn't affect me personally but I'll say Nintendo Switch, having Kingdom Hearts games to play on the go would be kind of nice, I know we have Melody of Memory, but the more the merrier, and it would be nice to give folks who don't own the other systems a chance to enjoy the series as well. Of course there was that one Nomura interview a bit prior to Melody of Memory's release that said there were no current plans for Kingdom Hearts on the Switch, so seems like it might be a bit up in the air right now.

  6. I only watched the first three Ice Ages as well. Enjoyed the first one but don’t have much to say about the rest. I haven’t seen any of the other movies though. I was thinking of the employees too. Hopefully they’re able to find work soon, the pandemic has not been kind on the job market though. Maybe there will be remote work options so they won’t have to relocate, though I don’t know how ideal that would be....hopefully the situation for those affected improves.
  7. I heard about this earlier today, it’s sad. I don’t think I knew them as well as Disney or Dreamworks, and I’ve only seen a few of their movies but nevertheless it’s weird to have something you’re familiar with no longer be.
  8. Gullwing and Fenrir are from KH2, the question is about KH1 keyblades. As for me I'm going to say Metal Chocobo, stats aside, I love the tiny Chocobo charm on the keychain, and I feel like there aren't enough Chocobos in Kingdom Hearts.
  9. Really enjoyed your analysis as always. I didn't know the Drammatica version was not Yoko's arrangement, but I've always found the "bridge" part as you call it in your video to be really epic. I also think you summed it up perfectly about how reflective the themes are of the character's personality and what he's feeling. Oh and it was also nice to hear different renditions of the theme from various concerts, I didn't realize how much it had appeared outside of soundtracks and the games themselves.
  10. Thanks for sharing your art with us again! I love the scale and how your eyes kind of follow Roxas's perspective gazing up at Xion. The tram in the background is a nice touch too.
  11. This topic isn’t about what role Nomura should play in future games, you’re more than welcome to create your own if that’s what you would like to discuss.
  12. I think you're missing the point. No one is disagreeing with you on Nomura being a bad writer, I'll be the first to admit he's not the creative mastermind some make him out to be. He can still have fundamental themes and concepts he wants rooted in his games and be a bad writer. Whether or not those themes and concepts are executed well will be a testament to his writing, but I wouldn't say the presence of those themes on their own are.
  13. I mean I don't think anyone here is disputing Nomura's questionable writing direction. It's obvious that there are certain aspects that were written by the seat of his pants, and OP recognized that later on in his post. Nomura may be a lot of things, but I do think there is rhyme to reason with the usage of these terms over more commonplace ones.
  14. Really digging the Coco keyblade it perfectly captures all the thematic elements that were present in the film, very nice find with all the other fan concept keyblades for other films too! More female party members would be great! I think Raya, as well as some others you listed from more recent Disney and Pixar films would be great contenders. Sisu in a lot of ways reminds me of Mushu, personality wise, though I'm trying hard not to make comparisons with Mulan since Raya isn't even out yet, and I'm sure will still be unique in its own right. The environments for this film, just based off the trailer look so colorful and varied, so I hope like you said, it doesn't get the Arendelle treatment if we see it in a future game. (Actually no world should get the Arendelle treatment haha). I think with that it'll be up to how much flexibility Disney would provide.
  15. Well this is more intentional if anything. Sora's name translating to sky is something that's generally well known, it was meant to mirror Riku translating to land, and Kairi translating to sea/ocean. As for Roxas I can see where you're getting the red theme from, but I'm not sure if that's what they were going for, as much as the name just being an anagram for Sora. In Spanish rojo/roja is the word for red, and x and j can be pronounced the same (hard "h" sound). There's no clue in the name itself circling back to sky though. Yozora being night sky, I feel is both to serve as a foil to Sora, and also with the heavy FFXV vibes probably meant to mirror Noctis's name as well. I agree with you on the worlds they're from mirroring their personalities though. Not sure I would group them all as a trio based on this though.
  16. Not the best explanation, maybe someone has a better one, but that could easily be chalked up to "maintaining the world order."
  17. Keep in mind that spoilers for anything that is not Kingdom Hearts will *not* be enforced by the moderating team...meaning we won't come down on you for failing to mask things in spoilers, it's more of a common courtesy if you want to use them but you wouldn't be required. That being said it's still nice that you guys are being considerate of others who may not be on the up and up with these new movies. Back to the topic though, I really like the Soul inspired keyblade above, I love how the teeth of the blade resemble piano keys, since that was such a big part of Soul. Also like how the hilt contains the badges. Re: Raya - saw the trailer when it dropped and all I can say is I would like this film to be in Kingdom Hearts for Awkwafina's character alone haha. It would be so entertaining to see her sassing Sora and co. I think I would need to see the actual movie first, before discussing specifically how it could work as a world, but just going off the trailer, I can say it looks like Raya herself would make for a good party member. Much like ocean's rage, I'm sure when I actually do get around to watching the full movie I'll be thinking about how it could work in the context of the series. Just going off the trailer, the movie itself does look pretty promising, and I'm looking forward to seeing it myself when it releases.
  18. Sorry! I'm looking forward to discussing Raya and the prospects it has for Kingdom Hearts but I'll have to reply a bit later, unfortunately I've been a bit swamped with work. I'll def be back here soon though.
  19. Kingdom Hearts in general I feel is at it's best when it melds the series original aspects (like the main characters, lore etc) with the Disney aspects, so I agree that having original plots over movie retellings is a big plus. The Pixar worlds we got in KH3 did this really well imo. That being said, I think they could still incorporate some villains who already met their demises, for all we know a future Pixar world could be a retelling of a movie, but given that Pixar seemingly allows for more flexibility, I trust that it wouldn't be as bad as strictly sticking to the movie's plot as say Arendelle was. As for which villains I would like to see personally, I think Hopper, Syndrome and Ernesto de La Cruz could make for some interesting foes. They seem the most villainous to me in terms of malevolence to their non-Pixar counterparts, but of course they would need to take into consideration which Pixar movies would work best as worlds as a whole rather than just inclusion based on which villains would work best. If they can make it work well though, I'm all for more Pixar, we've already seen what they're capable of with KH III.
  20. Yeah! There aren't many of us around from those days anymore but I'm glad to see a familiar face, and know you're doing well! And will get the word out to anyone I know who might be interested! I can tell you put in a great amount of thought and time into it just by the outline you provided us!
  21. I think it's pretty much what ocean's rage said, it's more of an instance of putting a gameplay mechanic over the story, and a homage to Disney sprinkling hidden mickeys throughout their stuff. If I recall the cutscene we get just says if you encounter them it's supposed to bring you good luck, I don't think we'll get anything more in depth beyond that. I believe we also don't get very lore heavy explanations for other gameplay mechanics like the trinity marks in KH1.
