It really depends on the series and how important story and continuity is. Mario games are not really connected from one to the next so if one game is bad they can just make it up with the next one. But series like kingdom hearts where the story in one game directly effects the others one game can ruin everything. Although there has not been a game in any series I have played that has done that yet. There certainly have been numerous small elements that have begun to build up that annoy me. Whether or not they ruin the series depends on future titles.

The one that really gets to me is the one on the isle de Meyers in port royal. I think it's number X. I can't figure that one out for the life of me! I barely get any of it's health down before the time limit even when I guess right every time plus I'm level 99. Any advice would be very much welcome!

No this is not a very good idea in all honesty. It doesn't fit at all with the rest of the series in any conceivable way. This is similar to people who wanted MLP (seriously?!) or Marvel (too mature) in there as well. It would not only ruin Kingdom Hearts, but the respective title itself as well. We need to leave these decisions up to the developers. They actually have an idea of what would work.

Why is that the one scene in the whole game that's pre rendered, why couldn't they do it like all the others? Poor choice on their part..... I'm sort of a videophile so these things really matter to me.

Ok so I am not sure if it was PS3 acting up or the game. I have been loving 2.5 despite its little flaws. But I just got to the scene where sora and Mickey meet xemnas for the first time in hollow bastion. In the scene immediately preceding the battle with 1000 heartless where sora Donald and goofy are about to confront them. The video quality dropped dramatically. It was fine once the battle started though. Is this just me or the game?

My main concern is whether or not this is a preorder you can only get from their official website. Since I ordered the Limited Edition (if you can even call it that) from Gamestop I was hoping that maybe sometime in the next week or so they will have this available at Gamestop and upgrade my preorder (with a little extra cash of course to compensate). If that does not happen I will be seriously disappointed as I will not be able to get my money from my preorder till Thanksgiving when I am at home..... boo....

To be honest this is probably one of the only properties outside of main disney films that I would like to see. The animation and storytelling style would mesh extremely well with that of Kingdom Hearts. The only downside is many Studio Chibli films do not focus on combat and instead focus on other main plot devices. So unless Sora is just strutting around these worlds without a weapon or the stories of the worlds were drastically altered to fit the fighting theme (which would ruin some wonderful stories) I don't see this as something likely to happen. But maybe Nomura will use some of his Nomura magic to suprise us all.

If Kingdom Hearts had started off as an online game this would make a ton of sense and would probably be fun. But since the story is mainly character driven, this idea does not really work. If there were an online game where everybody would play at once, the main story could not happen unless you were a party member to Sora. But even then all video games revolve around the player so even then the story would not work. Lastly, let's assume for a moment that the game was offline, and just regular Kingdom Hearts except you could customize the character. Many of the cutscenes would have to be non-voiced as the player's name could be anything. Cool idea man but it just does not fit.

Seriously?! No offense, but this is a terrible idea. I have seen that movie and while it was okay, it is nothing on par with actual animated Disney movies. Plus to be quite honest, nothing from Disney Channel would work in Kingdom Hearts ever..... It just does not have the appropriate feel.

Worlds I don't want to see? I would have to say, I would HATE it if anything other than animated Disney movies, were made into worlds. - I don't want to see anything from Disney Channel - Nothing from Star Wars or Marvel - Nothing from any sort of cartoon/movie/book/etc. that Disney does not own. I really only want to see Animated Disney Films, Pixar Films, and MAYBE some live action Disney films (Tron). But for the most part most live action disney films would be terrible as well. The main issue being that most of these things these craxy people want in Kingdom Hearts just would NOT fit in..... Just my two cents....

Maybe it is too soon to know but is the official site the only place you can get this? I mean when I pre-ordered 1.5 from Gamestop they automatically upgraded my preorder to the version with the artbook. So, is that going to happen again, except I'll have to add more money to my preorder? If anyone has any answers to this I would be more than happy to hear them. I'll just wait and see what comes for now.

No this is a terrible idea. Remember how all of the old direct to dvd Disney sequels sucked and ruined the original movies for everybody? This is the same thing. You would be adding something of far lesser quality into a good series and would ruin both as a consequence. Also many of the Disney cartoons would not fit in with the style and themes of the series. They need to just focus on major movies.

No. This is due to many factors. The most important of which is that it doesn't fit within the universe of kingdom hearts. It does not allow for much fighting which is the basics of kingdom hearts game mechanics. I'm not trying to sound offensive but this is a problem seen quite often by fans of the kingdom hearts series. They often want to have their own various interests and and fandom a in the series when they simply would be out of place. There have been threads where people say Star Wars or marvel should be added to kingdom hearts but these titles don't fit either as they are far too mature for the series and the themes of kingdom hearts (mainly hearts and what they mean) would ruin both series as it would make kingdom hearts terrible and it would ruin whatever fandom was added. There is nothing wrong with my little pony. But it just would not work. (Sorry if I seem cranky... I decided to respond to this at 2 In the morning...)

It's not about hunting at a different title that's not KH3, it's more about how the scenes allow you as the player to get hyped up for the game and also give you something sort of confusing as a way of making you feel that the game is above and beyond anything you could have predicted. Knowing master xehanorts keyblade is special, or the tome of prophecy is what maleficents looking for only adds plot points. It doesn't tease KH3 in a way that excites you. Plus, since both of the secrets alluded to something only found in chi, it makes it even less compelling as we over here don't really have a means to understand the connection.

To be honest, I think it should be in there as well. Not only does it add suspense to this moment and helps add feeling, but it is a very easy way to show the audience who is in control of terranort. Yes it's a series that's rated E, but for a game series that has fighting as its base mechanic, there is not a whole lot they can do to add suspense. As long as they don't show blood, (I don't even really Care about this, but for the sake of an E rating) they should be allowed to show a bit of violence. If it makes you feel better, in this scene he is not gripping her by the neck, he is only grabbing the front of her shirt to hold her up.

Hmm I'd rather not have them remaster/remake Kingdom Hearts 3D. At this point I just don't think it's worth it. (But I am biased as I have some issues with that particular title.)

I wish I could have that same mentality as you Hero of Light XIV but I just need something to hold me over until more information about KH3 appears. I mean sure its early in development but I was hoping something a little more substantial about the game would be in 2.5's secret movie. I mean I was dissapointed with the trailer we got at E3 so the wait is beginning to take a negative toll on my me. =c

Heh, I mean I guess the concept of Chi does not bother me (other than the originality of a keyblade being now non existant even more), but I feel it would have been better as a spin off title set apart from the main storyline. That way it allows for more options for the games backstory while also allowing international audiences to be spared from any impending story confusion. But then again that's just me. Hell I looked at the Tome of Prophecy thing and did not understand what the hell was going on and I consider myself almost completely informed of everything KH.

This might just be me but I thought I would ask anyway. What's the deal with the secret endings in Kingdom Hearts games lately? In Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 they were very mysterious and enigmatic and left a lot to interpretation. Also the high quality of the scenes added to its awesomeness. Now I can understand the underwhelming secret movies with games such as BBS, Re:Coded, and KH3D as those are handheld titles and thus probably do not have the space or power to have a large scene like that. So, despite my dissapointment with the secret endings in those games, I excepted it as a limitation of the system and settled for the more straight forward and basically spelled out secret movies. Now we have KH 1.5 and soon 2.5 and the secret movies in both of them have been rather underwhelming as well. While they do add more information, I don't feel like they do a good job with promoting excitement and anticipation. They just add one or two extra plot points. But since both of these ganes are on the PS3 I expected something much better. Something higher quality and more grandiose like the main 2 titles had originally. So, what do you guys think? Am I the only one who feels this way? Also, is there any other reason despite time contraints that they wouldn't go for something a little more inspiring?

Overall it seems well done. While I am not bothered by the changes in names for items or events, I am more concerned about the voice acting in the data versions or Organization XIII. The battle voices used by Marluxia and Larxene in the trailer were still in japanese. I wonder if they will fix this or not. It would really bother me if the voices were inconsistent with those in Re: Chain of Memories. :sleep:

You know, I'm almost 21 now and have just finished my second year of college. While you may not have as much time for video games as you might have now or when you were younger, there is certainly no reason to believe college will change everything about video games. I have played every single Kingdom Hearts game to date. If you really enjoy the series, as you said you do, I am sure you will find a way to play it.
